Game Giveaway of the day — Dangerous Activity 3D

The game is based on the classical minesweeper game with adjustable parameters that allow you to change and complicate the game. Changing the classic two-dimensional game to an original three-dimensional game has added to the playability without changing the basic game logic. Developed in the best traditions of logic games, Dangerous Activity 3D will be a hit with fans of this genre.

Decorate and upgrade different Christmas cafes.

This game takes the original minesweeper game into the three-dimensional realm. This game incorporates logic for the placement of mines that is similar to the educational breadboard model for learning engineers/sappers. The graphics of the game absorb the player into the game world, and the process of clearing mines is engaging.

As soon as you start the game, you can see the menu with its dynamic background rendered by the game core.

The general pattern is replaced with changing weather scenes ranging from a clear sunny day to a downpour with flashes of lightening.

Another innovative aspect of this game is the complicated circuits of mine fields combined with the sequences of original levels. These features will especially please players who have become bored with uniform, rectangular fields.

#33 Bill,

You are probably right on that. My father suffered a head injury in WW II. As a result, he has a seizure disorder. Flickering/flashing lights can trigger a seizure for him. Looking at it that way, the warning makes sense.

Re: #31 JEG: LMAO! A little joke from the developer maybe? :D
Either that or what BillW suggested, suppose it's possible? Litigious times have led to ridiculous warning messages. My hair dryer has a permanent plasticized tag that says: "Do not use while bathing or showering" (well duh!) and "Do not use while sleeping" (how would I even do that?).

Didn't see that EULA though, skipped today's download. My first reaction was to think "Microsoft's snorefest Minesweeper, now in 3D." ZZzzz...

Okay, so after a quick game, the gameplay is exactly the same, so if you like minesweeper, you'll like this. I must admit I jumped when I hit a mine, because I wasn't expecting an explosion. It made me chuckle, which in my mind is at least worth a play.

I don't bother to download this one because I never love minesweeper. The last time I play minesweeper is last year or earlier and it wasn't longer than a minute.

It's a nice idea to turn such a classic Microsoft game into a 3D version to suit with the new era of gaming, where gamers care about graphics as much as gameplay.

The gameplay still the same though, which is not good.

Thums up.

I'm going to give it a try, because it is from the same folks who made Astro Menace, which, by the way, ROCKS! If I don't like it, I'll play Astro Menace some more. Thanks GGOTD!

thumbs way down on this one. The original is better, its out of focus, and makes you zoom out to see full screen. Make more games like Mad Magic or Master of Defense- They are great games.

I downloaded it. Showed the kids and there goes my computer lol. I only just managed to get it back long enough to say they loved it.

Okay, I'll say it! Thanks GOTD!!!

You can tell the developer is desperate or the game is simple when:

As soon as you start the game, you can see the menu with its dynamic background rendered by the game core.

Thankfully for this game, it's because it's simple. But really, putting things like this doesn't look good on you, ViewWizard. If the game is simple, just keep the description simple, and don't try to make it sound so special. Trust me, some people like it that way, and it's these kinds of people you're looking for for a game like this. :>

I downloaded KeyWord yesterday and played it for quite some time. Today it won't load or play. I get a popup window that says

FATAL ERROR: Invalid Command Line Param: Files\Keywords\Keywords.exe

Can anyone tell me why the game worked yesterday but won't work today? I liked it very much.

I wasn't interested in yesterday's game, so I didn't read the comments section. However, whiterabbit's comments above made me go there to see what had been written by #58. You can't possibly judge how people are raising their kids solely from the comments section on one website.

I don't like minesweeper, so I'm giving this one a pass also. If I hadn't made the decision before I read any comments, comment #30 would keep me from downloading it.

Much too simple game and complicated small graphics.
I am a big fan of Minesweeper and I have very nice records in Windows. But this is just horrible. It gives you a couple more options, but much too crowded graphics.
This is some kid's project. It shouldn't be for sale. I have played with other programs in the same manner.

I am sorry but I'll have to give this one a thumbs down. Sometimes "innovation" is not called for in a traditional game. Most of the additions are just cosmetic and add nothing to the enjoyment I get while playing the regular minesweeper game. The "great" 3d environment is a bland field. Add in some elements of a back story or fill me with some sense of urgency in completing the task rather than beating my own time(i get that with the regular minesweeper). As one commenter said it felt to dressed up and just didn't deliver. The key for this game should not have only been to attract those who play minesweeper (and believe it or not it is a huge community, do a Google search if you don't believe) but to attract those who can't even locate it on their computers even though its been around since Windows 3.1

I hope the developers take note and try again.

Hey, great-looking giveaway, guys. Now all we need is a 3D version of Windows Solitaire! Oops! Done already. And free, too.

http://big3dsol.sourceforge.net

Are there any real game creators left anywhere in the world? All I ever see are new twists on old game ideas. You need to build a better mousetrap, not a better-looking mousetrap. (New twist on an old cliche.)

Thanks for the effort.

#17 - "i dont see why people would pay $14 for a game thats free with XP"

If I had $20, I'd rather buy this game and a pizza - than spend $20 on a program that sets my PC Clock (instead of just having XP automatically manage the clock for me).

PS sorry for the seemingly rude reply above; however I had reply to the post the commenter made yesterday as it was an insulting comment directed at myself and others who happened consider educational games a useful tool in aiding their education. (however not the be all and end all to education). :) I don't mean to single you out, but you've done this on both comments sections yesterday; making assumptions as to how we bring our children up. :(

This is a nice take on an old game. Well worth having installed on the computer, especially as it has several new functions that the original didn't have, that enhance the gameplay.

The options menu gives you a lot of scope to change the basic parameters such as the number of mines as well as new features such as the type of mine, of which there are 3. You can also select from 5 different playing area shape's as well as select the size of the playing area up to a 40 x40 grid and choose cell options from triangles, circles, rectangles, rhomboids and a few other shapes.

Thank you Viewizard and the GGAotD team for a rejuvenated minesweeper.
It'll definitely fill in those moments in between fighting on the battlefield and overseeing my childrens education.

(Just in case Pantaloon, comment #58 yesterday, missed the replies to her rude and presumptious comment yesterday; you'll find at least three retorts that are far more informed than you seem to be, lol)

I like this updated version of the old favorite, Minesweeper!

It installed faultlessly, as usual. The graphics are engaging; I have a feeling the gameplay is going to be even more fun than its predecessor.

Creative and well done, Viewizard Team. You've really perked up this game; I'll look forward to trying it again later today.

As for the game, it is minesweeper with some graphics and music.
