Cube Wars Sandbox:

In Brief:
A sandbox battle simulator with cube like protagonists.

You can see a video of game play HERE
The Game:
You can access a help page via the main menu, which gives you the key bindings and a short explanation of what to do. Set up your opposing armies, with any number of protagonists (I selected up to 101 per side, but there seems to be no limit apart from the memory of your computer). Once you've set your armies up, press the start button in the top right hand side to start the battle. You can speed up the action using the 2x button.

Once the battle starts sit back and watch the action proceed.

You can add further soldiers, selected from the four types (Knight, Archer, Cannon Man and Mini Knight) to both sides once the battle commences.

You can also change the position of the battlefield using the WASD and QE keys:

A & D = circle left or right
W & S = move forwards or back
Q & E = move up or down

Conclusion:
Outwardly this seemed like a nice little battle simulator, despite the blocky lace-lustre Minecraft like graphic, but I found after a few attempts that there was little to keep me entertained and thus to keep playing the game. Setting up various configurations then watching the battle commence with no further input (e.g. moving units to more strategic positions) left me waiting for the battles to end, which wasn't that long, even with over 200 units the battles only lasted for a few minute or so at the most.

I also tried different configurations, for example knights against mini knights, mini knights against archers and there seemed no difference between the attack HP between the knights and mini knights after seeing a mini knight attack a knight and killing it in one hit. Also, placing archers against mini knights; the mini knights took no casualties after dispatching all of the archers. I would have expected the archers to have taken down a couple of the mini knights before they reached the archers.

Another issue is the placement of the team placed on the right hand side of the battlefield. They faced the same way as the opponents on the left side of the battle field.

The help page mentioned a timer, but there is no evidence of a timer to be found in game; consequently, once the battle was won, the winners just wandered around the battlefield with no end to the game until you pressed the Esc key to access the menus.

After about 30 minutes of trying various set ups, I'd had enough and deleted the game because there was no real strategy or enjoyment to playing the game, it just felt randomly generated mayhem; also, placing soldiers on the battlefield was tedious, especially when placing 200+ combatants, because you had to select the class each time you placed a single piece on the field.; and, finally, there's only one scenario available with the game.

Suggestions
There's an excellent battle Simulator on Steam, with nice graphics and a large number of simulation situations called, (not surprisingly), 'Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator'. which you can find HERE (usually £11.39); alternatively, if you like space battles there one called Deep Space Battle Simulator that you'll find HERE (£7.99); both are excellent games with decent graphics and a variety of game play situations to enjoy. I highly recommend the latter example with friends as you can cooperatively control a battle cruiser or capital ship in first person (taking on various roles such as the ships captain, chief engineer, science officer, security etc), or fly one man fighter ships to swarm the opposing battle fleet.

Alternatively and especially if cash is tight, there also a much cheaper version than the asking price for this game on Itch.io (okay, it's free today, but is usually $5) that has similar i.e. blocky, but better graphics, and has a lot more re-playability than todays game, called Battle Simulator that is on sale at the moment for £0.39/$0.50 HERE and IMO is superior to todays version.

In fact, one of the first games I ever purchased for my 286 computer back in the late 80's is now available on Steam called Tank: M1A1 Abrams Battle Simulation at £4.99 HERE; has loads of strategy, though the graphic is pre 90's so don't expect much in the way of beautiful graphic; however, for actual game play, it's outstanding. I remember playing it for hours at a time while supposedly writing up my masters project (The Health and Environmental effects of Zn, Cd, Hg & Pb). There's another fun looking one with cartoon like graphics called Totally Accurate Battle Simulator HERE; though, of the ones mentioned, it's the most expensive at £15.49 when not on sale.

Here's a top down Battle Simulator for £0.79/$0.99

Finally, there's a whacky free to play game called Totally Accurate Battlegrounds available HERE, though it does included in app purchases; though you'll find lots of different battle sims on Steam, justy type in Battle Simulator.
Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 60 antimalware engines.

WhiteRabbit-uk summed this game up pretty good as I can't find anything good to say about this game.

I've never played this genre before but had to give it a go by reading the descriptions. Basically its computer versus computer, nothing more with the ability to rapidly press the buttons on the screen to add as many blocks as you want.

The real question becomes then, how many blocks on the screen after doing this rapidly does it take to crash the game? Surprisingly I've not been able to crash the game doing this, so it's a plus.

Have to agree with the Minecraft style look in the review as it vaguely has a look to it.

I'm just not sold on today's game. Although it does have the potential to go deeper with bug fixes and added textures with a revamped interface.
