Whiterabbit-uk,
Pets are more important than a game review. We have some too.
Good luck, hopefully your pet will get better soon.
Don't worry about bonding with the new companion. It will work out.
Greets,
Merlin

Personally, I found this game to be tedious. Far too much jumping around and too few objectives per scene for my taste. YMMV

Nice HOG game, with other mini puzzles throughout. nice graphics and storyline. Most of the objects match the type of scene with out looking too out of place, which is always nice...I hate having to find a tire in a kitchen etc. There is a map that shows large areas, but doesn't help with rooms in the house, so you will need to keep track of where areas are. There is a help for the puzzles, and you can skip them too. There is also a walkthrough available on Steam community by doing a google search. Overall, a nice game that you can progress through easily enough. There is a challenge but not an aggravating HOG. NOTE: You will need to disable your antivirus for the 10 minutes it takes to download and install. But it does not have any virus or malware. It may install two shortcuts on your desk top to Toomky games onlinbe, but these can be deleted without effecting the game.
Thank you GAOTD and the devs for another great free game!

One thing I like about this game is that the graphics are clear. I sit in front of a computer most of the day viewing and writing text. When playing a game, I hate stressing my tired eyes any more than necessary. In many hidden object games the items are not sharp. This one is not like that.

Oh and on non sparkle and slow hint setting the game still left "non moving sparkeles" when a HOG puzzle was present.

An okay game. Doesn't deal with modern hardware as well as one might hope. For instance on a win 10 laptop, an email notification popped up. I clicked the x to dismiss it, which caused the game to shrink from full screen to about 60% of screen. That became an artifact left behind when the game was restarted and still a window left behind when after play the game eventually ended.

I was interested in this game before and downloaded it from Toomky some months ago but I am stuck and have no idea how to process.

Whiterabbit, I hope your bunny is continuing to do better. Still sending healing vibes his way. Hope you can get some rest.
Here are my notes from when I played this two years ago. I don't even remember playing it, so I'm sorry I didn't keep notes about the storyline.
[star ratings on scale of 1-5:]
fun 3
visual/sound 5
challenge 3
storyline 4
user experience 2.5
overall 3.5
Crystals of Time didn't take long to play, but it was frustrating. I wasn't so much following the storyline as looking for a way to move it along. Often, I had nothing in inventory and nothing to do, so I wandered around trying to find hidden object scenes.
This is what other reviewers described, so I knew what to expect. If I hadn't known, I would have been more frustrated with the game and rated it lower.
I like the music a lot. There isn't much -- maybe two or three songs. And there are times with no music, which is fine.
The visual style is quite beautiful. The hidden object scenes are clear and easy to see. Some objects are not well translated, though. For example, "electric lamp" turned out to be cylindrical incandescent bulbs that I mistook for fuses. At first, I accepted the mistranslation, but when I noticed an actual electric lamp in the scene, I thought the word choice was misleading.
The storyline is so-so. (This is where I wish I'd kept better notes!!) I like the jumping to the past. That occurs in three rooms. Seems as if it should have happened in a couple more.
I'm not a fan of all the running around. The map is only slightly useful. I wish it indicated where there's something to do.
The journal helps with that somewhat. The protagonist writes down what needs to be done next but doesn't always say where that is.
The map also includes only one part of the game at a time, so if you want to go to the areas across the water, you can't jump there from the house. You have to jump to the beach, then cross the water, and only then do you get the map for that area. (After I wrote this, I realized I hadn't gone back to confirm that this is how it works. I think the only map I saw was for the house.)
The mechanics are problematic. The direction for navigating is sometimes weird. For example, in one scene, clicking the back arrow and the right arrow goes to the same place.
More frustrating is the pixel hunting. There are several scenes where I didn't click exactly where I was supposed to and thought I was doing the wrong thing. I traveled all over the map and gave up and used a hint only to find out that what I'd started out to do was the right thing.
At first, I wasn't sure if I'd recommend this game. But I decided yes, with the caveat that you know what you're getting into.

Googling for Crystals of Time on GOTD, this doesn't seem to have been given away previously.

Can't proceed: Started playing fine but when I got to the part where you click on the sphere in the door of the house (after hammering in the tile in the floor) and it's supposed to open a "mini-game, it pops up "exception---access violation" and dies. I tried compatibility mode, restarting, etc. but no luck. Any thoughts? I've been waiting for a HOG/adventure and was happy to see this, but it's a no-go so far.

Just FYI, there is a video of the game play and many reviews on Steam if anyone is interested. The reviews are mixed and run the gamut from "dull", "little to no redeeming factors", "repetitive and annoying" to "Good game play and artful back drops and good music". However, from the ones I've read, even the positive reviews seem to be hesitant, some almost apologizing for doing so. I'm guessing this is best for diehard HOG fans who want/need something new to play.

I hope that helps some.
Thinking of you and yours, Stephen. I hope things are taking a turn for the better with the bunnies.

Hints are not too helpful. They show you where you should go but not how to get there.

This seems a good hidden object game. There are two modes to play one where the hint charges quickly and one where it takes longer I have only played as far as getting into the house but it seems good so far. Some of the objects you have to find in the mini games sometimes don't show up but that doesn't bother me too much.
