As you know, sheep are an important part of the kingdom's economy!

The fate of the galaxy is in your hands. Can you save Earth once again?

Crusaders of Space 2 takes the classic gameplay of Space Invaders and adds a number of modern innovations. One improvement is the ability to fire missiles at enemies. As you shoot down invaders, aliens sometimes drop missiles you can collect. An enemy might also release one of three weapon boosts. The Freeze boost, for example, stops an invader in its tracks and shuts down its weapons.

COS2 also allows you to upgrade your ship between levels using points earned during combat. These can be spent on increased firepower or other bonuses. Since you can reclaim points spent on one improvement and apply them elsewhere, you can try out various strategies for beating different parts of the game.

Though COS2 has its roots in traditional arcade action, the developers made full use of current computer hardware to create a stimulating audio-visual experience. By mixing innovation with timeless gameplay, COS2 proves everything old is new again.

I liked this game, reminded me of a lot of other games I've played. Very addictive, can play for hours before I'm tired.

Almost 90% of games from Alawar are really crappy. Not even close with the games you can buy from GameHouse or Yahoo.
This one would not even start on my pc (P4HT 3.2Ghz, 2GB RAM, Geforce FX5500). Btw, Call of Duty 2, Ghost Recon, Battlefield 2142 and other real games (unlike this one.;) work fine on my pc.
And i doubt that other people that had problems with this game need to change their machines...

Absolutely will not run on my desktop (P4 2.4GHz) or laptop. Actually my less powerful laptop got further as it was able to show the splash.

This game runs OK on my machine (Athlon64 3200+ WinXP Nvidia6100)
Game play is alright, but the storyline is AWFUL! But who needs a good story line to blow up space aliens? Not sure it would be worth buying IMO, but certainly not a bad deal for FREE.

Whiterabbit - thanks for your comments. yesterday was the first time I found this site and tried to download a game. When I started it up the number of error messages was frightening. Given the number of people that have reported problems here, Alaware had to know they were releasing a buggy product. For people who have been using this site for a while, you might be willing to forgive one bad experience, but as a first time user, my reaction is to stay away, and not recomend this site to others. You know what they say, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. If this site really wants to bring new customers, they should be careful about putting up fairly solid games that aren't going to cause lots of computer problems. That's the way you build a solid reputation. Given my experience with a free game that is supposed to showcase Alaware's expertise, why would I want to plunk down money on a game that might cause similar problems. If I am going to buy a game, I want to be reasonably sure it is going to work well.

This game throws up error windows once it finally loads. I have never made it to the actual game, oh well. One more file for the recycle bucket!

When I loaded this game on my pc, I get the following error when The game is started and loading "WGL_ARB_pbuffer support required". I have no idea what this means but I loaded it onto my other pc and it works fine.

Dyson comment #30. I think so far all the games that have been featured are from Alawar. I buy most of my games from them as they are really good on the aftersales service. They also have a great consumers comments section which can be accessed from every game. So you can read up on whether there are problems with the game, or get feed back on whether the game is what you are looking for. If you really intend to not buy from Alawar then I'd say you are a fool. It's like biting your nose off to spite your face; (lol) You can't expect a couple of buggy games are going to determine the rest of their site. You might also not bother downloading any more of the games offered here as so far they have all been from Alawar. (not their best games as I'm sure they will be hoping many consumers from this site will check out their web site. I get a weekly newsletter from Alawar, which gives me news of updates of my favorite games as well as info on new releases. I'd say half of the games I've ever bought online are from Alawar and I've never had problems with any of them, including the last 2 games.

Fantastic! Absolutely thrilling. At first it does APPEAR to hang or lock but if you will enter your name then navigation is enabled and it works flawlessly. Running on a home-made pc w/ 3.2 Intel processor, 16mb cache HD, and a high end video card. The game graphics resolution is not overly high so those with a less able card should be able to run without problems.

Talk about getting what you pay for, this game is incredibly buggy, almost to the point of being malicious. The concept of the site is great, but the execution is lacking. I would never ever buy a game from Alaware, knowing that they are so sloppy.

Loaded fine, but it was a lot for my mediocre system to handle. Game play was slowed down by the code heavy graphics. Would like to see a little less graphic intensive version.

Worked fine on my system (2.4G Athalon XP CPU, 1.5G DDR RAM & ATI Radeon 9800 128Mb Graphics card) This is a nice little shooter, much like Astro Fury but with better backdrops and more realistic powerups (however I like both). I'm beginning to like these games. It also works on one of my other computers (1.5G CPU, 256Mb DDR RAM and ATI Sapphire 9200 128Mb Graphics Card) I'll be waiting till the dual core and soon the quad core CPU's are well established before I convert. Nice one GoTD team. Thankyou very much for your continued work; trying to please all facets of the online community. Pity we get so many disgruntled consumers for something that is essentially free. I think we are really lucky to have this oppertunity to try out decent software totally for free. already I've got my eyes on buying the upgrades to a couple of the utility packages (flash paste, cute reminder, Blind Write, Web Stream video, Astra32 and Nova pdf). And when I have to do a new install of Windows I will be purchasing several of the games that have been offered so far. (Arkanoid TVI, AstroFury, Real Ball (from yesterday) Sky Bubbles delux, Aqua Ball and Dwarves 2,and possibly todays once I've checked it out further.)

This one freezes after loading with a explanation window that will not X out, the first of these give-aways I have had any trouble with, so great odds, great site, love this service, and if it were a program I really needed I would definately spend the time and may later anyway. Isn't figuring out occasional computer problems really part of the game anyway?

Good thing I have lots of computers. Like yesterdays, only one of three would run it. Although today it was the Dell that would run it. On the two that wouldn't run it, said the ZIP file was corrupt. But downloading it again, the mirror, or even rerunning the so called corrupted Zip file opened up and installed fine the second time around. This didn't happen on the Dell that actually worked.

Gateway Celeron M 370 (1.5GHZ)
MX6124 (laptop) w/512MB
Windows XP SP2
Intel® 910GML (64MB shared)

HP AMD Athlon 1.2 GHZ
384MB of RAM
Windows XP SP2
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX400 (64MB installed)

DELL XPS DXP051
Pentium D 2.80GHZ
1GB of RAM
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
RADEON X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory

Great game though! Thanks GoTD!!!

Works fine for me.
AMD Duron 1.7 ghz
256 megs RAM
MSI GeForce 128 megs Video RAM

Seems to me this game takes like FOREVER to load. And once it seems like it's loaded all the way, it sits there FOREVER on a black screen before finally going to the game screen. The game's alright, but it's kinda chaotic. For those of you who like this pseudo Galaga/SpaceInvaders type game, try Reflexive's "Alien Sky" game instead.

Works just fine here.. Athlon XP 2600+, 768 MB ram, Geforce 6800 XT, WinXP Pro.. not exactly a recent machine..

perhaps the troubles some of you are having is a dualcore specific issue?

No lock ups here.. no save file damaged either.. finished chapter one, exited the game completely, then went back in and resumed at the beginning of chapter 2 no problems.

fun game.. I'm a sucker for arcade shooters.. too bad the ship cant move vertically as well as its horizontal movement though.. that would help in the times when the aliens get a little thick on the screen. :c)

I didn't like this game.

It seems really cool - but it doesn't run very well on my Duo Core 2 system. The graphics become blotchy, and the game play is very choppy. Then it crashed after a level. Not to mention that this game takes as long to load as some very high-powered games.

Otherwise, a very well-intentioned game.
