Crazy Catman is a 2D side scrolling adventure platformer with cartoon like graphics. A thumbs up from me.

Introduction:

Evil and treacherous dogs, kidnapped a cat called Murka. Vasya's cat, honest and in love, decided to rescue Murka from the evil paws of the treacherous dogs. To save her, Vasya, your character has to negotiate many obstacles and defeat the myriad hordes of enemies. Crazy Catman is a bright and colorful platformer with fun music and a cartoon like graphic.

I enjoyed playing this for the short time I had available (just over half an hour) and definitely recommend you try this out. Even hardened platform aficionados will find this a reasonable platformer. It's not Super Meat Boy (SMB) or my all time favorite plaformer Gish, but it does have a charm all of its own, and isn't as unforgiving as the former mentioned game (SMB). It has all the elements of a decent platformer, with lots of levels to beat, enemies to confront, various weapons including pistol, shotgun, rocket launcher, flame thrower and automatic rifles as well as grenades to pick up. You’ll also find other pick ups such as a temporary shields and speed up potions and food. You start the game with three lives. Shoot the barrels to explode them, but ensure you are at a reasonable distance otherwise you'll damage yourself. Use the crates to either jump higher, shield yourself from opponents, or destroy them by shooting them or throwing a grenade at them. You will need to replenish your ammo stocks frequently; thankfully there are plenty of ammo pick ups available. You can also purchase weapons and ammo from the shop (see image below).

Crazy Catman is a well constructed platformer that I recommend you download and play. It's definitely one of the better mid week games that have been given away recently. (apart from the limited giveaway The Last Roman village, which is an excellent side scrolling tower defense game)
