Great storyline, nice new concept in the match-3 series.

However .... the game is much too easy. As a newbee to this game I completed all levels in less than 2,5 hours.

My GAOTD top-3 sofar:

1. Around the World in 80 Days
2. Jewel Craft
3. Styrateg

This is a fantastic game! The story is nice, the art is a joy to look at, and the puzzles are fun. This game is a real keeper, I'm sure I'll go back to it often and replay even when I'm done the story. I do find that Windows Vista has a bit of a tough time running it - it keeps flipping my screen back to Windows and then back to the game, but as there is no timer in the game this isn't a big problem. Thanks very much for a great game!

This is a pretty fun game, it has the same style as pokemon puzzleleague and other such games, Not re a nwcpt, just achange in story line. Very fun, and quit challenging.

Only played the Demo yet, because I was to late to get it for free, but its real cool and in the later levels a real brain-challenge. - Hope I will see this game soon here again ;-)

I love this game! The only problem I have is that it's a bit of a resource hog in Windows Vista. Still, it will be something fun and different to play when I need to unwind or have insomnia in the middle of the night.

Since everyone else was playing the story, decided to try the challenge, which is more like a conventional match 3 combined with a drop game. Thumbs up. Not too challenging, yet. Could stay in one place on the board and match and still get a lot done. And didn't even have to use my bonuses. Mouse control in point mode a little sloppy. Still, as a match 3 freak, was fun. Graphics decent, better than some I've played.

Thanks Rabbit and Doc for your detailed reviews. This one's a keeper, at least for free. Can't say about paying. Probably wouldn't pay for the challenge mode, but I'm betting the story mode will be worth it when I get the chance to try it.

Thanks, GGOTD

#51 - Franklin, a few major problems with your comments:

1/ Any program that doesn't show up in the Install/Uninstall list is preferable as then the program hasn't registered it self into the registry, so it is less invasive.

2/ This makes the program exceedingly easy to remove. It takes less than 5 seconds to remove every trace of it.

3/ You need to improve your computer knowledge a fair bit I feel, so you can understand why the first 2 points I posted are valid observations.

4/ The game installed easily on XPSP3, has decent gameplay and is a new variation on the 3 match games. Recommended esp. if you like this type of game.

# 51 by default it installed to your c:/games folder unless you installed somewhere else. Also you can try using an uninstaller like revo,...
http://www.revouninstaller.com/

"Revo Uninstaller - innovative freeware uninstall utility

Uninstall, delete, remove programs and solve uninstalling problems"

another neat software is ccleaner.com

"CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space."

Hope I have helped.

I myself like this game and had no problems installing on Win XP home edition. Thanks GGAOTD.
Have a great day everyone.

I only get a black screen and nothing else.
Am on XP home SR3.
I can't find any uninstaller! And it doesn't show up in the "Add remove programs". So how do you get rid of it?

#51 If you read the comments, you will find in several places that it has been stated that all you have to do is delete the folder that contains the game. So it's really easy to "get rid of it" if you want to.

I haven't installed it yet because I was reading the comments first, but I'm going to do that right now. It sounds like a game I (and my grandchildren when they're here) will like.

I LOVE it when a game or other program doesn't have to be installed or uninstalled the "normal" way. I've lost several programs I liked that came from GAOTD because of my old computer going south. And I was so glad that I didn't lose the Ozzy Bubbles game because it was on my external hard drive and didn't have to be installed.

> Franklin and those who want to uninstall: Find the folder for the game (it usually installs to C:\Games by default, or wherever you directed it to download), open the folder, and click on the Uninstall application. OR: Open your Control Panel, click on Add/Remove Programs, scroll down till you find it, and click on it to remove. (I'm keeping this one, tho... thanks, GGAOTD.)

Hey, that's a great game! Not just your typical match-3 or chuzzle-like game, there's a twist with making different kinds of jewels. So there's a little bit more strategy.

Thumbs up!

thanks for the game

nice when you wants a semi mindless game to play

one suggestion for improving it, get the story so that it can be read aloud for people with learning difficulties or whose reading is not as advanced as the words being used in it

My wife and I am really not that impressed with the game. However, I was surprised that I couldn't find anywhere to uninstall it.

So has anyone found out how to uninstall it or will I have to just leave it sitting there.

The normal way to uninstall it is to go to Control panel and uninstall programs. When I try that, it is not shown. Also it didn't set up an install when the program was installed.

so has anyone found a way to uninstall this program.

Frankly if you haven't installed it yet, don't! It is not really that good a game and you won't be able to get rid of it.

Took me longer than I expected to figure out the rules because there is nowhere to check questions like (can any cube turn into any available color even if it seems not able?[yes]). Still, if you like match-3s this is a nice twist and worth downloading and playing sometimes

#32 Sara, not everyone is a native English speaker/writer and they are doing their best to try to leave a review. If you don't understand it, move along, don't bash them.
____________
I have WinXP SP3 and this game installed without problems. As others have mentioned, I wish it would create a shortcut but I can do that so no biggie.

Not your 'typical' match-3 game and for that reason, I give this a thumbs up. I got stuck on the bracelet level because I didn't realize I had to match the yellow/bigger gems. Once I figured out what I was doing wrong, I continued on. I got to level 12 before pulling myself away from the game (or I'd sit here until I finish it!)

I found out that if you try and drag the JewelCraft icon to your desktop you'll get the "missing bass.dll" error message. Instead, right click on the icon and choose "create shortcut" and drag that to your desktop (or wherever).

This game requires some thinking/strategy on your part (for the bigger gems) and I would say is worth paying for it. I generally can zip through most 'puzzle' type games rather quickly and easily which causes the game to be boring and not worth repeat play.

I also enjoy the story line which is much better than Age of Japan II's story line. (A game I also enjoy, but got through quickly.)

Thank you GOTD!

May I put an SOS here for GGAOTD/GAOTD? I can't sign in to post on the forums here. I've sent in a request for passwords for three different tries on screen-names (all okayed) and either never receive a password, or when I try to use it it says it's wrong. Haven't been able to post on forums for weeks... and I need to, mainly to thank Stephen! Can you guys help me? Can't figure out how else to get to you, as I can't sign in. Thanks!

Fun little game. Thanks. Played 3 levels then burned it to CD and deleted it from my HD. Played fine from the disk but did not save progress. Copied from disk back to HD played another level, exited, started again and it saved my progress. So, if my computer crashes I'll still have the game, I'll just have to play from the last level on the CD. Not a bad trade off for still having the game!

I downloaded the game-unzipped it and started playing-thought it was a great game-got to the 3rd level and it kept locking up on me and freezing. I had to get out of it and I am now going to delete it. Not worth the aggervation. But I liked what I could play of it.

This is an interesting match 3 type game with a little twist. Instead of gems swaping places on the board, you spin the cube in place to find the side that makes a match. There is a little strategy in making sure to clear all the cubes with out leaving one 'stranded' with no other cubes around it to match with. ;)

I haven't had any problems with istallation or gameplay as mentioned above. Works fine on my XP sp2 system. :)

The game is great - thankd GGOTD. Just one complaint about this site (not the game). People, for the love of god - please learn how to spell and use proper grammar. I can't take it anymore. For example:

"when GGOTD was release free game every week, and sometimes didn’t release cause some business, i don’t download the game… because the game is repeatedly publish and some game is below the standard gameplay."

WTF???
