Cowboys Showdown:

In Brief:
Cowboys Showdown is a 2D side scrolling action shooter. Kill all enemies i.e., bounty hunters, criminals, zombies and other cowboys as well as a weird floating eye that explodes on impact and kill you instantly, even if you have three lives left. Other enemies gradually eat away at your three lives that are represented by cowboy hats. The large hatless cowboys appear to cause the least amount of damage. Some enemies appear more aggressive and faster; the slowest are the zombies.

All enemies drop credits that can be spent buying new weapons of which there are three. When you have enough credits, a pop up appears with three items; though all I could see were the prices, which were 30 credits for each of the three items. The middle item was a better machine gun with a larger magazine (saw this in the video). To purchase a weapon, hover your mouse over the item you wish to buy. Your default arsenal is a pistol, a machine gun and six grenades. Use your mouse pointer for the direction of fire and the LMB to fire. To swap weapons use your mouse wheel and to toss grenades use the RMB. Movement is accomplished using the A and D keys and to jump use the W key. You can double jump by double tapping the W key. To leave the game press Esc then Exit.

Enemies come in waves. After you've killed a certain number of enemies a new wave starts (unfortunately, I didn't figure out how many enemies you needed to dispatch to complete the first wave as game play was quite fast and furious; however, it's likely to be more than 30 kills because the shop icons popped up once you've earned 30 coins, {1 coin per kill}; and this occured before reaching wave 2.).

Whenever you die, even if you've completed one or more waves, you always start from the beginning of wave one, with 0 credits and you lose all your purchased goods.

Frequent crates are dropped that include such buffs as regenerate to full health or fill your grenade count. The grenades are useful when large numbers of enemies are nearby as they will kill all of them withing a certain range.

The game defaults to a window when booting up the game. You can toggle to full screen via the button in the top right of the game screen and toggle off the music as well. To select from the menus, use the up & down arrow keys or the W & S keys; then, to activate a menu item use the enter key.

Conclusion:
Cowboys Showdown is a reasonable time waster with simple graphics. The game play is quite challenging. Remember to use your jumps and grenades effectively as enemies come from both sides and avoid the weird floating eyes at all costs. Overall, a thumbs up from me
