I wasn't going to post a review today as things are still up in the air following my wife's collapse at work last Friday. Also, I had my second ever flu and first pneumonia vaccines yesterday morning and now feel like my head is going to explode and I'm running a temperature of 101 and rising slowly; (a increase in body temperature facilitates the bodies immune and repair systems. .
I was intending just to post a few images and the security scan, but I found the game mildly entertaining and easy to write up, plus I've been up all night unable to sleep, so, couldn't help myself. ;)

Cowboy Girl:

In Brief:
Cowboy Girl is a simple arcade shooter where you move Cowgirl left and right into one of five lanes, avoiding the cacti and picking up the different coloured bullets (Blue, Green and Yellow). When a red target reticule appears use the space bar to shoot the first giant cactus. The reticule disappears after you've shot, but reappears randomly. After hitting the cactus five times, you win the level. You can see the monsters red health bar at the top of the game screen. Each level has a different monster to shoot and the process is repeated again; however, each successive level becomes harder because the lane conveyors speed up. When you close the game down, there's no save function, so, when you restart the game you start from level one again. start the level again.

Controls:

Up and Down Arrows or W & S = select menu items
Enter = Activate menu Item
Esc = return to previous menu
Space = Restart game after losing

In Game Key Bindings:

W = Move Left
D = Move Right
Space = Shoot

Conclusion:
Clicking on the control menu item brings up a page with WASD - Space. It does not say what they do; though regular arcade aficionados will probably guess what they are used for; however, the W & S keys are not bound for the actual in game play, only for accessing menu items.

The mouse is not supported. I didn't check my controller as my head was spinning by the time I'd passed the first level, so gave up. There are ten levels to work through, so this is more like a demo; much like we used to get 20 years ago, though demos back then gave you more levels to play, or at least an hours worth of game play.

Still, in short sessions this is worth keeping, at least until you've mastered the game, at which point it may become a little tedious to play unless you leave large periods in between playing. It's definitely a coffee/tea break game for me. I will return to this once I'm feeling better.

If it was possible to set each of the five lanes to move at different speeds and randomly between the five, it would make the game more challenging.
