Plays OK on win 7 Pro until puzzle 75, then blocks align oddly and do not show entirely. Able to skip this puzzle and continue play. Otherwise a very enjoyable game for idle moments.

I just wanted to admit I like the small screen so I can play while watching a show or a movie next to each other - cause I can't only watch something. I get distracted.

I agree, 34 is a bunch. However, when I posted my comment, there was exactly ONE. Must have been some kind of glitch.

Extracting files to C:\Games\BalladOfSolar_game folder
The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

The game is not installed

..............................Moderator comment..........................

I hope you managed to read this beofre it was too late. sorry for the very late comment. Been very distracted today. Check the FAQ's section over in the game discussion forums for possible fixes.

So long as you have the original installation files you should still be able to install and activate this game for at least 1 hour after the giveaway is over.

You'll find the FAQ's thread via the following link:

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/11647

Try turning off your Anti malware first (just until you've installed the game), if that dioesn't work, try using a different file archiver to unpack the content sof the zip file. Other fixes can be found in the FAQ's I've linked to above. Let us know if you managed to fix it

Downloaded & installed fine on Windows 8.1 64 bit. It's probably a good game for young children, but way too easy for adults. But it has issues that I'm not sure if caused by being ported to PC or actual glitches in the program. The worst one being the game locks up on some of the boards, forcing a restart. The next is on board 75. All the pieces are stacked on one another, making it difficult to put them on the board. Also it keeps the pieces in the pile at the same time. The rest of the glitches are minor annoyances.

I also have a couple of suggestions. First, even though some of us easily figured out how to play, some might need a help button to explain how to play. It needs a screen to say congratulation or some kind of graphics to let the player know the completed all boards, instead of a blank screen. Last it needs a lot more difficulty to appeal to adults. For me, it is extremely way too easy to play.

Joe, (comment 15) I presume you mean Supergranny, had this series bought from Sandlot Games, plus others and they reverted to Trial 60 mins after I had my laptop serviced. Would love to see any of them available on GGOTD.

Installed and runs fine in Vista 32. While only a small strip down the center of the screen, it is easily large enough to play and is a pleasant diversion. I am surprised that such a simple game is 34meg installed; I have similar games from W95 era, with comparable graphics, that fit on a floppy (if anyone remembers those).

Decent little game (after you figure out how to play), but level 75 has game pieces that aren't useable as they are too large and aren't actually moved to the playing field, they just keep re-appearing in the pieces to be played panel. Some help would be nice, as I was enjoying this game. There are 25 levels that we can't get to because level 75 doesn't work. A game repost for those of us that want it would be nice. Windows 7 Ultimate 12G RAM 2.7 GHz. NVidia graphics card. All games have been fine in the past on this computer.
Thanks

Obviously once I downloaded this I realized it is meant to be played on a phone. The screen shows up phone-sized on my computer without a way to make it computer-sized. This might be fun if it wasn't a small strip down the center of my computer screen. And it might be a good game for a phone, but I'd be going to a phone game giveaway site if that's what I was looking for. Please, GGOTD folks, don't give us phone games here. You have sites for that.

Just installed the game. It's obvious it was made for a phone app instead of PC, as that is exactly the size of the screen. No explanation of how to play etc. I'm going to be uninstalling and waiting to see what the next one is :)

I'm surprised at the lack of comments.

Installed on my Win 8.1 pc after compatibility settings were established.

Nice little game. Starts out really simple, but gets complicated fast. Challenging to your mind. All ages will like it as well as this Senior citizen.

I like the game. Thank you GAOTH.

I have played a few levels and thing I have the gist of the game. There is no tutorial and the mechanics are simple enough to work with it doesn't really need one. The point is to take tetris like shapes and fit them together to fill the given space. I picture it like having a storage area that can just fit all of your weird shaped furniture only if you put it in a certain way. It is super easy with big pieces. It can get super hard when the pieces get small and the board gets big. There is a book with a question mark that will show you a placement if you get stuck.

Simple puzzle game.

Were we given the right link to download? This game is actually called "Egyptian Blocks Ancient Power", and was apparently originally made for Android. Which makes sense, it's about the same size and shape as my phone screen. Barely big enough on my monitor to play, and don't know how to play it anyway, since there's no how to play info that I can find anywhere. Weird download today.

This appears to be a simple port to PC from Android. It is similar to games found for smartphones/tablets such as the "Montezuma Puzzle" series (4 with different shaped base pieces) or Block Puzzle that is available for free for the PC from Amazon.com.

The install is a simple winrar extract that defaults to the last location used by winrar. In my case, it was Alawar within my games installs and I redirected that to "1sies". There is no shortcut created. The final install is 34.7 MB so it is not a large game.

There are "only" 100 levels which is the same as the Montezuma Puzzles but smaller than many similar games and the Block Puzzle game for the PC.

There is no way to turn off the music eithout muting the entire game. To play, just click on the number of the puzzle you wish to do. The puzzles are supposed to increase in difficulty but the early levels are pretty easy.

It is windowed (tall narrow window) with the final puzzle area above and the pieces below. You cannot rotate the pieces. Just click and drag them to where you want them to be. The number of pieces within each puzzle does vary.

It's not a bad little game -- kind of relaxing once you turn off that music. Unlock the Block Puzzle I mentioned earlier, it is totally independent of the internet. That's a PLUS!

It's a simple game and I gave it a thumbs-up. Category -- Tangram.

I like the idea behind this game. Graphics are fine for what it does. It's a port from Android phones that can't enlarged to use more of the screen. Very repetitive gameplay. Puzzles didn't take any thought until about level 20, then got a little harder. I skipped up to level 50 and played a few, needed much more thinking (or trial & error). Several times the game would not let me put a piece where it had to go until others were placed first. Don't know if that's a bug or somehow part of the challenge, to figure out the correct order of pieces in addition to their location. But with nothing to help determine the order, the game becomes a frustrating guessing game. Might keep it for my 4-year old granddaughter so she can play the first 20 levels or so, but I won't be playing it again. Thanks for the games GAOTD, but this one wasn't for me.

Thanks for today's game GOTD Team, i kind of like this one. It's not an overly complicated or stressful game.

Color Blocks is powered by the Unity Game Engine. It is very casual game with no time limits, and Color Blocks is easy on the eyes.

You basically arrange blocks to completely cover the empty space. If you click on the hint book you will briefly see a clue.

I added a few PC screenshots.

I played the first 16 levels. I liked the innovation of moving two separate pieces together in one level. Though I found it frustrating to place a block on the lower row in a couple levels. The block just would not stay until I first placed another block beside where it should go. There is no option to make the screen larger. The windows is small and shaped like the screen on my iOS phone.

That Egyptian woman has very prominent cantaloupes!

So, this is a slider puzzle right? I used to buy those things at the local five and dime when I was a little kid! They were fun then. Well, kind of. Not really.

I'm not a little kid anymore.

BUT this is a family site so all the four-year-olds who download this game today will love it. Well, kind of. Not really.

Don't do what I did!!! I was playing the game just fine & got up to level 15 when I thought gee wouldn't it be nice if the game was a little larger. So I closed the game and went to the desktop icon I hade made & right clicked on it, at the bottom of the pop up window I chose open in Maximixed window. The trouble is now I can't lay the game because everything is outside of the window when the game opens. Even the Indian princess's head is cut off! I tried setting it back to normal window but that didn't work either because it wasn't a normal window to begin with. I have tried to uninstall it and re-install it about 5 times now with no luck. It keeps wanting to put an over sized image in the window that opens & I can't get it to go back to the tall skinny one it started with. I'm running Windows 8.1 with internet exployer as my browser. Anyone got any ideas on how to get the game back to normal? Even though I have uninstalled & re-installed it still remembers I'm on level 15 so I must be missing something somewhere.

It loaded and played nicely on my XP3 machine. The screen is the same size as a cellphone. The only option is to shut the sound off. I played 7 levels and shut it down. When I reopened the program it took me to a levels screen and showed what levels I already played. Nice little game for a cellphone.

Downloaded and installed with no issues on a Win 8 64 bit machine.
At first glance it seems like a real waste of time game, but it is actually very interesting. It will be useful in helping teach spatial relationships to children, and keeping an adult mind sharp. The first few levels are pretty simple, giving you the basic idea of the game, but it gets much more difficult as you go along, and really makes you think. It's not an action game, so it will get low marks from the SHMUP crowd, but if you want something that is a mental challenge, and a good teaching tool for your kids, I think you will find this a very good game.

Installed easily (Win7 64bit). Nice look, but small portrait window, the music can be turned off, there is no indication when playing as to which level you are on. The first few levels are REALLY easy, the group of blocks can not be rotated, just have to fit them together to fill up the square.
I think this game would bore people before long, and it may not take long to get through 100 levels, but might be nice for children.
I will keep it for when I am listening to radio plays and do not want to tax my brain too much.
Thank you for the games, I have had some wonderful games from this site, and always try to check it at weekends.

I was about to give up on this and then figured it out. The first thing that I noticed was the screen isn't right.
But it's mostly cause the graphic is not stretched across form1's background which explains it.

This game belongs on mobile phone?
I am asking... ;o)

I am not sure which level I am on, but it seems to keep getting progressively harder.
I have had to quit a few times cause it seems locked up. Maybe it's just me having a brain aneurysm? Any way I quit and restart and things work again,

Tested on my XP SP3 ENDED LIFE EDITION

We're spoilt for games nowadays :) thanks for that. Not all of them are to my taste, but this small game is quite nice for just that lost moment.
You can just click on any level you want to, which means you can skip the easier first ones.

The odd sized window gives away it was developped for the mobile market, but it will do on a pc as well.

(Did all the thumbs-down people really try it?)

Last game by this developer had you moderating my reply Rabbit :) This time the game is....underwhelming to say the least. It is a straight port from an android game and they don't even hide it. On the plus side the game is simple to understand
you get a grid and some "tetris" stones. You have to place the stones in the grid. Stones can't be turned. There is no score. You are after startup presented with the following screen.

after the startsvreen you get a level select screen, the actual puzzle is next and after you finish it you get a next level or replay screen. If you like I have some screens made here rabbit, use if needed https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=80ffc62d7d2c2a2d&id=80FFC62D7D2C2A2D%21169&ithint=folder,png&authkey=!AL0OG3d4p4RGRM8
