This game downloaded quickly and installed easily.
But I didn't like it. Funnily, because it was too cluttered! Often, a different piece would select than I had clicked on. And there didn't seem to be any point to the game, either

At first sight, this looks dated: "junkpile"-style hidden objects games are no longer particularly appealing.
However, this is misleading. This game is smart, addictive and -- importantly -- has elements that change the nature of the game as you progress.
From finding pairs to both halves of the same object; to triplets; to objects (that might not be visible right now) matching those on a conveyor belt at the bottom of the screen, to objects where one is monochrome where the other is colour, interspersed with minigames that also make you exercise your visual memory and problem-solving skills. This, like many "proper" puzzle games, is SO much better than the initial visuals would make you think. Oh yes, and the central conceit -- that decluttering your life is a good thing and "Leon Poncelette" is here to help you achieve it -- is sort of appealing too. :)
The only downside is the MyPlayCity wrapper. While, in its defanged form, courtesy of GGOTD, it just puts game adverts in front of you while loading and opens your browser at exit, it's not as irritating as it might be, it's still enough of an irritant that I'm seriously considering finding the dev's own site and offering money. Yes, I'm THAT impressed. (But then, I gather he was influenced by Everett Kaser which is a BIG tick in the approvals column for me.)
I'm writing this a day too late to influence anyone's downloads but you wanted feedback so here you go :)

Jeez, this is ridiculous. Moderator comments & review cluttering the comments section. It's becoming nigh on impossible to find useful user comments as they are hidden amongst all this silliness. Imo the other users' comments are the most useful comments as you have feedback from people with different tastes using different systems. Have a look at the giveawayoftheday comments section. Moderators only post when it's absolutely necessary.

Installed easily on Windows 10 64 bit.
I rather like these HOG type games, and I do enjoy/prefer a bit of a story with them, so I approached this one with a bit of trepidation. I needn't have done - it is a fun and entertaining variant that plays well. The graphics are nice and clear and fit the concept. There is a challenge to it, especially early on in each screen, which is very good. The 'educational' personal aspect is novel, I don't normally like that as they are not always well done, but this one isn't bad, even then I don't take it too seriously but it does rather add a nice touch.
Nice game which I can see myself playing for a while. Thank you GGAOTD and MPC.

It installed without issue and played great on Windows 7. I really enjoyed the game (played through past first mini-game). I thought it was nice that the "host" made it seem more personal and gave me inspiration to tackle my own clutter. Nice twist on a hidden object game. Good job, developer!

I downloaded it, unzipped it, tried to install, but I get a message "Failed to connect. Try again later." Saying that now, while I'm connected! Going to be too late to get it later. Thanks anyway! I appreciate the free games, there have been several I've really enjoyed.

leni,
No need to be sarcastic. If you don't like the game, uninstall it and check back another day for another free game.
It was released in 2011 as far as I know. I could be wrong, but another Clutter game came out not long ago.
A lot of people like these true hidden object games, without a long drawn out story. Good to play on and off without losing track of where you were in a story.

The game loaded quickly (less than 2 minutes) on Win10. I had no problems installing the game. The game is a different take on both usual HOGs and MATCH games. I am enjoying the game having played through quite a few levels. I am a packrat by nature so the hints don't annoy me too much. The minigames are a nice twist. I agree with the earlier comment about not being able to type my answer to the tile game. I think the game is good for most age levels and it plays at a nice pace for those whose fingers/ minds prefer a slower pace.
Thank you WhiteRabbit for all you do. Sorry you are having computer issues. Thanks again for this game I will play Clutter 1 through and probably pick up the freebies from the series you mentioned earlier. I like a variety of games and am happy this site doesn't just stick to one genre.

I do not care for this game. I love HOGs, and the concept of matching items from a jumbled mess is great. But I don't like the "preachiness" of the commentary. Also, with the game creator's photo appearing with every pop-up box, it makes the game look like a low-budget educational tool instead of a streamlined HOG.

Thank you for this. Another one of my games I lost. Great game works in Win10 Home 64bit. Only problem is that it takes bit long for the introduction to go through and all you want to do is just get in and play. Other than that, great game. Hoping to see Clutter 2 and 3 later on. *wink wink*

A fairly simply game; not really a HOG but more of a matching game. It seems as if this game was created to 'teach' users about all the terrible things that come from clutter. I don't really like "teaching" games (OK, I hate the idea). You get a lesson at the beginning and between lessons. You need to click through a few times to get back to the game. Not too onerous but not engaging.
The matching isn't too bad, it's just a pile of junk right in the center. You can't move it to look for items hidden under others - you just have to keep matching to remove the top ones to see what is on the bottom. The graphics look dated in this version. Some items (coins and letter tiles) you just need to find one to clear/collect. I've played up until the mini-game where you have to fit the coin sets onto a chess board. I get the impression that there may be a word or sentence being constructed from the letter tiles that will be revealed later.
Overall, if you like matching games this one is pleasantly different from the match-3 board genre. The mini-games scattered between the match sets break up the monotony. It feels like a game that was made to accompany a self-help book, but if you can overlook that, it's a pleasant time waster.

Funny game with a different way of solution.
Downloaded and installed without a problem after a quick disabling of Avira under my Win10.
Thank you very much.

Today's game 'Clutter'. Had trouble downloading and installing this, which I don't normally have on here, but when I finally did get installed, we played it for awhile, and much like others quickly got bored with the lectures and attempts to show you the story. Plus the gameplay was slow and my daughter didn't get into it at all. Made sure to not take into account the downloading/install problems on my reflection of the game, but unlike the last HOG game given away here we just couldn't get into this one at all. Removed it from our system.

Very clever game. I made the mistake of not reading all of the introduction so I didn't realize there were coins and Scrabble tiles to be collected. OTOH I didn't have the problem that others mentioned of having the first stone stay on the screen.

Thank you for this game. It reminds me to an old game with the same gameplay and tangarine figures. Also very addictive although the rounds have a similair goal.
I like the simple concept, the search for the scrabble letters and coins and the mini games. What I do not like, is the searching for fragments of the photos. That was a bit dull and does not fit in with the hog part of the game.
But thumbs up for this small game. It is fun.

I don't play a lot of HOGs (hidden object games for newbs) but this one does bring something different to the table. It's also nice & cheerful, a welcome change from all those dark & dreary HOGs that want to be spooky. I'm looking forward to potentially seeing later versions that let you turn off the timer, but so far so good. Thank you, MyPlayCity and GGOTD!
Whiterabbit, hope you feel up to updating your machines soon, but I've been in the same boat (needing to do some hardware/software changes) and feeling kind of overwhelmed. Tomorrow's a new day! Here's hoping you find a way to streamline your review process so it doesn't take 4 hours or more out of your day. Thanks as always for your participation here! :)

I just love Clutter! It has very cheerful graphics with great Hints (yes, I needed the hints). There is plenty of time to do the game, but it does move quickly. I would still like to see a relaxed mode, so I could take my good ole sweet time.
I found the Mini Games to be quite interesting and easy to do. I enjoyed collecting the Coins for hints and the Letter Blocks for the destination clue. I wish I could type my guess for the destination into the game. It would also be nice to have the letters represented my lines. At least this would give me a running start. The Coins and Letters give this game a little different twist.
I just love the game and give Clutter a thumbs up. Thanks MyPlayCity and GGOTD for the gift today. I'm like a kid at Christmas :-). Stephen, I feel for you concerning your computer woes. I wish you the best on it. Sorry you're having to go through this.

Downloaded fairly quickly and installed fine and I've had a chance to play long enough to review. I really kinda like this one; different from the usual HOGs (which I also like) in that each very short game is a bit different in type, so it stays interesting, at least so far. Unlike some who have posted, I don't mind the declutter hints, and honestly, they are so short that they don't really affect the playability for me. Yes, they are pretty basic, but good reminders and again, can pretty easily be ignored, as can the story. If I were recommending this one to someone playing for the first time, I'd say take a second or so to read the tips with each game; upon replaying just ignore them.
I really appreciate that this one is different from the HOGs we usually get, though I really enjoy those, too. Now that I am using this site MUCH less due to the unpopular changes, I'm always delighted to check in and find one that both sounds interesting and doesn't make me jump through hoops. Enjoyed the adventure/HOGs like Exorcist and Lake House lately, especially, and now this one. Thanks!

This is an old game, but one that will keep you occupied for hours. Not great on graphics, mostly pics of everyday objects, (and you can almost pinpoint the year it was made by the age of some of the items pictured), but lots to do, and gets progressively harder as you make your way through the puzzles. Some can be quite tense as you're against the clock, but for the most part a good, simple game that wastes time, gets your mind off stuff, and requires a good amount of concentration.

Ok Windows 10 x64 Pro to D: drive internal. This is a really fun game so far. Just did a first run through but enjoyed the combo of bit tough/easy method of stacking all the clutter. Don't be discouraged by the large counter numbers since it seemed that after getting some special clicked item game auto won that level. Guy gives a few tips that help and there's a Hint amount that can be added back into by clicking a few single (unmatched) coins. So funny when stuck for a match and use Hint and the darn two are right in middle of screen. So used to looking for the tiny details and overlook the big things. Ain't like wonderful. I think I hit two large paperclip like lock things that merged and won level.
Usually just need to find one the two for match, other times have to click both items. Maybe has to do with whether one is partially covered. Nice graphics. Haven't run into any time issue or that treadmill belt system.
All in all a nice twist on HOG. 9/10 for fans. Thanks GOTD & WR.

I liked this game--and the de-cluttering hints aren't bad, I just wish my husband would play the game and read the hints! Definitely a new kind of HOG and worth downloading. If I had seen this game on MPC I doubt I would have tried it. So thank you GGOTD for introducing me to another enjoyable game!

The game would be much better if it dumped all the story and lectures. Boring. I can always read a book to learn all of that stuff if I really want to know it.

Carolyn Kooken,
I believe all the other games in the series have the option to turn off the story. At the time this was written, Joe was of the opinion he HAD to have a story somewhere or people wouldn't play it. I think he's changed his mind.

It is a bit a different game, in the end you have to gather rocks. I finished off the first part, Rio de Janeiro. The stone that was earned there stayed on my screen.
Closing down the game and starting it again solved that problem.
A bit annoying are the 'wise' lessons in between, so before you can start playing there are some quotes to click away, also in between the 'levels'.
The mini games are different and quite OK.
At the moment I don't know whether I like the game or not. ;)

I am enjoying the game. I have have found two glitches, one in each of the rounds I have played. The first round the amythest gem would not go away into the second round. I needed to shut down and restart. Second round played through until the prize award at the end of that round, when the game crashed and automatically shut down. I am about to start round three to see if this continues to happen at the end of each round.

First of all, the tech stuff. This downloaded in 2 minutes for me. Installed without any problems on my laptop running Windows 10.
I haven't really made up my mind yet on this HOG. It is unlike any other one I've played so I have to give it kudos for originality.
Because of the fact that you have to sort through clutter, there are times when an object you are supposed to find and/or match is hidden by other objects so that there's no way it can be found due to the way the game is set up. I found that frustrating. I've only played one mini-game so far.
I have to wonder if I will either get bored with this - or maybe too frustrated. It may be good as a filler. There is no story-line to speak of. I feel as if I'm attending a feel-good-make-your-life-better conference when I'm playing this; that may be a detriment over a period of time. I like warm fuzzies but....
I gave it a thumb's up because of its uniqueness; however, for me, the jury is still out......
Thanks for the free game!

Clutter is a wonderful spin on HOGs. It's really an un-HOG in that you have a pile of random stuff "dumped" in front of you and you have to match up in various ways to complete the level. Sometimes you match 2 identical, sometimes they're split, sometimes there are 3 to match. I don't remember if this version has the "similar" matches. Sometimes it's just what is displayed, sometimes it's what comes down the conveyor and other times what is displayed in a shadowed form at the bottom of the playing area.
There are many mini-games scattered throughout the game to help you earn more hints. There are special items in each level that also help. Note -- the maximum number of hints is 99. It wont' go higher.
Admittedly, Leon (story line, totally fictional, character) is a royal annoyance but he's easy to ignore and just focus on the game itself.
This is the first of currently 5 games in this series. I believe the first 4 are available on the freebie circuit but I only have the first one that way. I no longer keep the freebie circuit spreadsheet updated once I realized it was no longer accurate as older games were being removed. It is just not worth the trouble to keep it updated. I have games 2 and 4 from a Game CD and 3 and 5 from BigFishGames. I'm waiting for 6. I'm hoping this offering indicates it's at hand!
This is the only one of the 5 that does not have a non-timed option. It only comes into play in the latter stages of the game. This game has incredible replayability. Every level is totally random within the rules of that level. What is "dumped" and what you have to match is different every time you play a level. Even if you immediately want to re-play a level or you stop and then start at a given level, it will be totally different.
Without the story line, it is a very simple and relaxing game. With the replayability, it's a definite keeper.
The 6th of the series is due out at any time. After this game, the rest of the series is: Clutter II: He Said, She Said; Clutter III: Who's the Void; Clutter IV: Mini-Game Madness; and Clutter V: Welcome to Clutterville.
All have the same mix of minimal/no story line and mini-games. All are great games.
I highly recommend this game to anyone. Even my husband who does not play many games, stands behind me and plays the peanut gallery while I play (I control the mouse, he finds a few matches :) ).

Hello WhiteRabbit and thanks for the terrific job you do. Also, thanks to My Play City for this unique and fast-paced game. There are at least 3 follow-up games and I could not resist buying them also.
I already own this game and I can tell you it never gets old to play. No two HOs are the same and quick mouse work and good eyes are a must. The timer is generous, but ticking nonetheless. No real story line to follow, but it is not necessary or missed. There are puzzles and other game play also.
It may not be for everyone, but give it a try for yourself if you want long lasting and very entertaining game play. Played a lot of games, but this series has not been duplicated.

I am disappointed in the way games are from this site and wish it would return to the way it used to be. I will no longer take the time to download any My Play City Games as I am so tired of waiting for the download, then for my Webroot antivirus not allow it to be installed. Yes, I probably could turn off whatever it is but after waiting for the download, I don't want to take the time to investigate what is stopping it in Webroot. I can only think it has something to do with the advertising for MPC wherein you are taken to the website upon closing the game and that is how MPC collects any money. Can't blame them, but I just don't want to put up with this process any more. Sorry but this is it for me. I will stick with the free non-lobby games from tams11. Thanks anyway.

Mardel, I couldn't agree more. I too don't use social media. I've avoided the MPC games until last week and should have done so again. I am in awe of how many links and junk are in the game folder, the waiting for the game to load, added desktop links, open browser,... I feel the pain for the developers, but as an end user I couldn't be any more disappointed.
WR, I hope that the giveaway team are way beyond thankful for your "taking one for the team".
I've followed your comments for 10+ years and the fact that you've remained here is valiant. To wind this up and be pertinent: This is a Big Fish game today. Their games are always top notch.

mardel,
Purely FWIW... Just another point of view...
" I will no longer take the time to download any My Play City Games as I am so tired of waiting for the download, then for my Webroot antivirus not allow it to be installed. Yes, I probably could turn off whatever it is but after waiting for the download, I don't want to take the time to investigate what is stopping it in Webroot. "
I'm not trying to make light of your objections or feelings, but rather pointing out another way to look at or approach it in case it's of any use or interest.
Staring at the screen, waiting for a download can be boring... so I don't -- I don't sit there staring at the download progress bar. It's kind of like boiling water -- the water will get hot whether I stand there looking at the pot or busy myself doing something else. Downloading a game takes very little resources from your device, so you can continue using that device, or get up & fix a cup of tea or put away the dishes or whatever.
RE: Webroot, why? If anything there are too many security software brands, so there's plenty of choice. I watch the sales & I don't recall it as one of the usual brands that go on sale very cheap. There's little in the way of test site data, e.g. av-test.org, & going by a review at pcmag[.]com, while the author of the review liked it, I wouldn't trust the way Webroot works personally... according to the reviewer, Webroot monitors an unknown app, then rolls back anything it's done if/when it decides it's malware, but IMHO not everything malware may be capable of can be undone. Maybe it works OK, but there are free, free after rebate, & low cost [e.g. $4] security software that has published test results available.
