If you added Idle Champions to your Epic game library from a few weeks ago and either intend or are playing the game; I've been posting chest codes over in the game discussion forum's for the past week HERE. Apart from the first list (49 codes), most of which will have expired, (but there are still some that are active but will expire by the end of today), plus another 29 codes that should still be active (includes a couple of Gold chests). I will be continuing to post more codes over the coming weeks; at least until I stop playing the game. The chests are definitely worth getting if you are playing the game, or intend too.

Most of the codes give you an electrum chest, which usually has five items one of which is specific to one hero, as well as a piece of equipment that will increase your hit points and/or health and sometimes works for all in your party; plus, consumables that boost various attributes of your champions.

Claws & Feathers 3 is a match 3 game, but with a difference. Puzzle elements have been introduced to give the match three genre a new lease of life. Personally I've grown tired of match three's but after playing this I scored it a 9 out of 10. It's definitely well worth downloading, even if you are not a match three aficionado.

The birds and cats are back in an all-new puzzle adventure that sends them soaring across the galaxy in search of a new home! When a zombie apocalypse ravages their home planet, the birds set off for the stars. But they're not alone! Their eternal rivals, the cats, are tagging along and will do everything they can to make the journey an unpleasant one!

The Game
Claws and Feathers 3 is a match three game with puzzle elements incorporated into the game. You don't get a traditional match three board, instead you get various colored birds scattered in small groups in a large 2.5D area (almost an Isometric viewpoint), with lots of spaces in between. There are also colored eggs that are situated randomly around the game board. The aim of the game is to recover energy capsules and place them into the reactors. To return an energy capsule to its pod you will require a clear run, i.e. an unimpeded run of empty squares. To clear a path to the reactors you have to create groups of three birds of the same color. These can be in a straight line of in an L shape so long as you connect three bids together of the same colour.

At the start of each level you are given the level requirements, for example level one requirement includes charging every reactor with energy capsules and not allowing 4 or more red birds to fly away. The latter requirement if fulfilled gives you a gold award if you fulfil the other requirement i.e. not allowing more than three red birds to fly away (by making matches of them). If more than three fly away, you will only get a silver award.

You can move any bird to any position on the board and not create a match three, however, if you don't create a match on any turn Eggs on the board will hatch and create more obstacles that block clear paths for the energy capsules to be removed. Eggs can be moved through and you can place birds of any color on them if you are creating a combo of a different color. To make the game more interesting Cats also escaped from the zombie planet, and they will try to create as much havoc as possible. Cats may block or hide energy capsules. You cannot remove cats by creating groups of three or more. Instead, you have to surround them with at least two birds of the same color, who will then fly away with the cats. Also, some birds in later levels are stuck in cryogenic chambers and are running out of oxygen. You have to locate the keys and unlock them before they die.

Each level has different goals, for example, the second level requires you to not only charge every reactor but catch 3 cats, the third level you must not create combos of more than three birds of any color; in the fourth level you have to open every cryogenic capsule for a silver award and clear 85% of the game board. If you achieve the first requirement first, that ends the level, so make sure you achieve the second requirement first. Other requirements include clearing a level within a specified number of turns (level 5 asks you to complete the level in 6 moves) and free the chained birds who cannot be moved by including them in a combo. Each level has two requirements, silver awards are given if you achieve the first, and gold if you achieve both requirement. You can check to see what your level requirements are at any time by clicking on the small panel at the bottom middle of the board.

Claws & Feathers 3 is an excellent take on the match three genre, adding new elements that I've personally never seen before (I haven't played the first two in the series despite having purchased them via Steam. I haven't played a match three in ages as I'd become a little over dosed on them over the last several years; however, I throughly enjoyed playing Claws and Feathers 3. The addition of puzzle challenges gave the game something extra that kept me glued to the game much longer than I normally spend on an arcade game. I highly recommend you check this game out. Personally I'd score this game a 9 out of 10 for it's refreshing game play.

You'll find hundreds of freeware games of all arcade and indie genres on Itch.io and Caimans Games as well as other sources. Please do check out the game discussion forums for older posts HERE (the sticky section is useful). Many of the earlier posts may be out of date with respect to the links I and others have provided to the free games; however, you only need to know the name of the game to find most of them via other sources. Many of those games from 2008 to around 2017 were posted as part of a project to supplement the lack of weekday games when the game giveaway went to weekend only games around Easter 2008 (mainly instigated due to the financial crisis of 2008) until November 2018 when Falcoware stepped into the weekday slot; however, from around 2015 onwards we did start to get the occasional Steam key for various games offered as limited giveaways, with a restriction on the number of keys available (anywhere from 25 to 2000+). These included over 60 decent AAA games and indie arcade games ; for example some of the better AAA games included , lucky Warhammer: Vermintide 1 & 2 plus DLC for version 2; Dreadlands, Mount & Blade: Warband, Immortal Unchained and Conan Exiles.

Indie Gala have added more free games since last week; if you haven't checked for a while there are some decent games worth downloading.
