After playing the game awhile, I'd look away and continue to see things scrolling down. Kinda like watching the credits of a movie then looking away. Also, does anyone have any cheats on this game?

A really really fun game.
I'm a 46 year old, and I remember the 80's games (Have a C64, amiga, Game gear, PS1, PC -obviously- and literally 1000's of games), and it's become fairly clear to me there is nothing new in games they're pretty much all clones... SO WHAT???

I love this game, it's fun, and addictive, and the best I've seen on GGOTD so far.

Thanks

I loved the original of this game and I love this one as well. It's fun to play, easy to move around, and gets more complicated quite quickly. It's a good little game. Thank you again, GGoftheD!

Forgot to mention two things:

1 - Nice enjoyable music

2 - The 3D approach was very well done, and very well adapted to this kind of game play.
We keep trying to peek at the top, when out of cubes

I would probably prefer to have a special key (right mouse button?) for using the power ups. Although I know this would violate the standard rules for the casual game market.

The reason I would want this, is because sometimes, I use the power ups, wrong because I was not expecting to catch it that fast, and throw a bomb for example, instead of making a match, or even loose a good power up, because it was placed in the wrong place :( due to the fast action. :)
But it's something that we can master with some practice.

Not taking into account, all the negative comments, I download and installed the game without any problems.
I tried the game, and was very pleased to my surprise.
The Game is very polished, and with very well done chroma effects.
The game is enjoyable a fun to play, although probably a little too hard for kids, which I presume is the target audience.
I can say, that I have played it for 2 and half hours non stop, just trying to beat levels 25 trough 30, god damn hard.

The game is addictive, and very well though out, and it shines mostly due to features that the regular user doesn't notice:
- Nice mouse feedback.
- When the Frog is near the end, it waits a while for you to finish those last pieces, and it speeds up as soon as it detects that you can't do more combos (although it disregards lateral combos in L shape, probably a bug/feature), instead of crusing at the same speed , preventing you to wait longer.
- The increasing frog sound volume, when we are near hitting a piece, very nice feedback.
-Being able to fire several spits :), although there is some kind of limit, when you send to many in a row.
- Nice Camera control/animation
- Nice animations, and visual feedback, explosions and similar, very well implemented, and beautiful colorful look.

Things I didn't like:
- Spitting, should probably hit the item we targeted, even when it moves, due to other matches above. This can be a usability problem or not, it depends on your speed and how you play.
- Sometimes I Hit the bonuses by chance, since, I made the frog spit, before the bonus entered the screen, but when the spit reaches the destination, now there is a bonus, and it is activated, even though I didn't explicitly wanted that. TIP: Maybe only activate bonus, if the user targets the bonus, if not, proceed to hit the Cubes.
- When the frog is over something, or almost over, we can't spit on it anymore. And we can't also spit sideways or backwards (it would be useful, for the last phase of the level.
- When we throw a grenade and something explodes, the explosion, wobbles the scenario too much, it can make some people feel uncomfortable. It twists/unfocuses the area too much (can't explain better)
- The mechanism and look to enter the bonus games, seems out of place, when compared with the rest of the game.
- The Bonus Games Monster, it seems out of place, and notch or two down in quality, when compared with the rest of the game.
- Although Chromes are very nicely done, there are too many of them, which spoils the effect( keep in the cubes, power ups and levels in general, but menus, could avoid them for example).

I don't really know if this is a complete clone of some other game, hope not, but don't confuse clones, with game genres, this is a Match-3 game, so the rules are expected to be what they are.

I hope the developers read these feedback, and improve on the product even more.
A very nice Product, and a lot of work done on it. I know, I also create games in my spare time.

This is a great came, you probably have a selling game hit here.
But You better replace that ugly monster with something better, or just remove it.

Don...they don't let you reinstall...all I can say is do a search in registry and copy the software keys for the games. Then you'd have to get the program from the website for the ones that come as one install. I don't know if that works but otherwise GAOTD doesn't give any help for reformats.

I totally understand where you're coming from, #21. But a game being "so 80's" is not always a bad thing. The developers successfully captured the feel of an addictive arcade game in "Chroma Crash". If it were still necessary to venture out to the local mall to play a game with this caliber of graphics, I could see myself pumping quarters into it easily. :P Though I admit parts of it feel a little exaggerated; the fake Japanese voice overs and the Bejeweled sounding AMIGA mod background music especially. Still, a very enjoyable game. Thumbs up.

AxySoft, you've done it again! You take the old, usual games and make something really nice out of them. I'm just waiting for the day when you guys get it together, and come up with a truly original concept of your own. It'll be a hit. Thanks for the fun game.

#51 Don:

I hope you know that messing around in the registry can be harmful to your computer. You may need that reinstall sooner than you realize if you don't know what you're doing. Besides, you're giving kids the impression that they're missing out on something, and they are likely to screw up their own computer trying to figure it out. If you know something the rest of us don't, you should just enjoy the knowledge and keep it to yourself, I think.

I think Belgian dude is saying that Bejeweled, Collapse, Bubble Bobble, and such similar games are based on Tetris (earliest one I can think of). If you consider them, they do all have the same basic mechanics.

Anyway, enjoy the game. There is no use knocking what is free. Not every game is going to be to everyone's taste. Most of the games I have seen here aren't to my taste but maybe there will be one someday.

Enjoy the games!

(I did enjoy the dominoes game a while back but it wouldn't load games I saved so I got rid of it.)

A while back, there was a post on how to re-inatall a GOTD program, involving copying of a registry key for those programs with a seperate activate.exe program. Trouble is, I can't find a registry key to this game, or quite a few other ptograms offered here. Any help on what needs to be copied to the games folder to allow for re-installation when the OS needs a fresh install?
BTW, the method to re-install the programs that don't have the activate.exe file work perfectly.
I"m coming up soon on an OS reinstall/reformatting, and would appreciate any help available on this.

Hello Belgian dude (21) and Snowy (44) I have only recently started looking at games and I have no knowledge of the past so my comment may not be worth anything, but I found Belgian dude's comments interesting and all the points raised seem plausible. If there is substance in what was said then probably this is positive feedback for developers. If any of Belgian dude's comments need discussion, then an alternate view could be presented.

The first time I downloaded it, the readme, activate and setup buttons wouldn't open; but downloaded a second time and all went well. This is a really fun game for all ages. I may have to fight for some computer time with my kids on this one (although my favourite game from GAOTD is still Ingenious.. totally addicted.). The different bonuses keep things ineresting. Many thanks!

download, activate and installed without a problem (XPsp2) Nice little game. Good challenge for my mousing skills although upper levels may prove too much challenge for my low vision. Turned off music and did not use full screen as a smaller focus area with good size graphics is easier for me to focus on and am less likely to miss scoring oportunities. Thanks GGOTD!

Belgian Dude, I think I speak for everyone when I ask you to please stop "reviewing" the games on this site. You are offensive, ignorant, and downright wrong most the time. Seriously, what is your problem? If you don't want to download the software on GGOTD, then simply DON'T. You claim you know where to get the best games, then go ahead and go get them. You're not helping anyone including yourself by being rude to the game developers and everyone else on here. Please, if you have any self-respect you will stop with this nonsense.

Thanks GGOTD and Axysoft. I like the new version especially Travel Mode which lets you start where you left off. The other version you had to play straight through each of the 3 difficulty modes without quitting. I loved the game before but this version is better. Thumbs up to Axysoft for giving us the upgrade.

Now I would love to see a bug free version of Nuclear Ball given as a upgrade to the first one. How about that GGOTD??

If the program needs a code- It will be given to you during the activation/ set up..... It'll give you a name (if one is needed and usually the name of this site- ) and it will give you the code. You just need to remember to write it down or copy it if one pops up.

If your given a code--- the place where you put it is usually the first screen you see when you start up the program. You'll see boxes for the information that is being asked.

As I stated before though--- I only have run into codes maybe one out of fifteen programs I have downloaded from here. I've muddled through the DL- unzipping, activating and set up on my own- so anyone else can as well. The first time I ran into a download though that did not have an activation on it--- kinda freaked me out for a few seconds... but just went with it--- and all is well. My computer didn't blow up or swear at me in alt codes and lock up either. LOL. Just take a deep breath, and give it a go. :)

On this download--- there was NO code included--- so once you set up the game as directed--- you will have the full version of what is being offered.

Sewwhatsports,
There should be instructions in the readme file that is present in each folder once it is unzipped. Usually there are two files, one says 'activate' and the second says 'setup'. Check the readme file. Usually you must run the 'activate' file first then the 'setup' file. Some people report trouble this way, so if that doesn't work, run the 'setup' file first, then the 'activate' file. For some programs there is only one file that will do both the activation and the setup. It is labeled 'setup'

#20 Sewwhatsports:

The instructions are right beneath the link you clicked on to download the file. If you're using Winzip, switch to "Classic" mode instead of "Wizard". There is a "readme.txt" file inside the downloaded zip file that tells you exactly what to do.

#21, Bejeweled was a original game based off a simular concept of which you speak of. You saying bejeweled which has made millions of dollars was a clone. I don't think so. I do aggree however it is getting harder to make original video game.

@all gave this game a bad coment. You guys should be thankful that GOTD gives out games. And at least say no thank if don't like the game. Insead of saying it the most horrible game ever made every time they release one on the site.

But anyways I'm going to download this game and have some fun :)

You unzip the file you DL from here... then double click on the NEW folder that shows up... in there if you an ACTIVATE--- Double click or click and RUN the ACTIVATE FIRST---- (you'll get a pop up tell you that you did it right--- and then another window opens up to this site- You can just close the window down...... no biggie. Then you can click on SET UP... and follow through with those instructions (pretty much the same as you would for any program loaded in from that point on) NOTE--- some ties when you activate or do the set up--- you are given a code to unlock the full version- just be aware of it--- so you can either copy to paste (or write it down) If your given a code--- start up the program.. and there will be a spot for you to place the code. (maybe one out 15 or so have a code that I have downloaded). Trust me- if I can figure it out- ANYONE can.

Oh dear. Any maker of games, this comment is directed at you.

Between the overpriced and underdeveloped games that are only fit for very little kids who lead a very sheltered life, the overpriced and underdeveloped games that are bad knock-offs of games that were popular in the days of the C-64, Nintendo 64 and Sega Megadrive (bubble-bobble clones springs to mind) and the games that are just badly coded uninspired bloated with music overpriced bug-ridden overpriced junk (Hacker springs to mind) I must admit that there hasn't been anything on here this year that I couldn't find better and for free with a little looking around on the web.

I know it's difficult to be original. Even more so in games. But it isn't impossible. I understand that a lone programmer can't compete with an entire software company. However taking the easy way out to make the 2504th clone of a game who's engine boils down to "check to see if there's 3 or more in a row and if so remove then and move any higher laying elements down by the amount of underlaying blocks removed" is so '80s.

Get a grip and learn about random factors, computer opponents, tactics, higher math functions. ANYTHING, but please spare us game mechanics that only are new to the very young and the very sheltered.
If you are so good that you think you can produce games that are worth buying the very least you can do is show that you aren't a bottom feeder and actual can program a game worth paying for instead of take advantage of the badly informed.

Nice graphics are good, nice sound is good but the most found recollections I have of games of the past weren't the high graphic ones but the ones with lots of playability. Games that were challenging and fun.

Is the game offered a bad one. Nah, there have been far worse. But for once it would be nice to see a game here that isn't a copy of a copy of a clone of a game with more fluff then substance.

The one game that comes to mind that had a core concept that was on a higher level was the chess game. Unfortunately it had been made by someone who didn't know chess, understand chess let alone loved chess.Instead the only thing it cared for was graphic fluff, which was really nicely done but totally wasted on the game.

So please I besiege thee, programmers - publishers and software companies, please stop chewing the cud and move on. If not the 21st century try at least to get into the 1990's.

Please excuse the errors in my first comment above; eg 6 levels as opposed to 46 and a few others that are either typos, or this damned keyboard, lol. I'm in a hurry today, so didn't check it over tll i'd posted it. Also, I forgot to mention, the game is fully controlled by the mouse, so, unless you only have one of those touch pads fond on most lap tops, you shouldn't have a problem. Then again, 'm sure regular users of lap tops will be much more proficient than myself, wo rarely uses a lap top. :)
