Decorate and upgrade different Christmas cafes.

Five years ago, the main villain of Part 3 - the Demon Zexus, was defeated by a brave monk and promptly sent back to hell. However, what won’t the game developers do to surprise the player?

After 5 years, Cemetery Warrior returns, and this time the player will play as Zexus himself. What a twist!

Zexus spent 5 years in continuous torment that his father subjected him to as a punishment for losing the last battle. But the sentence is over, and the only thing the demon wants is to exact revenge on his father.

Inspired by games like Doom, Painkiller and Serious Sam, the developer immerses you in the chaotic gameplay under Heavy Metal. Shoot crowds of various monsters whose variety of AI is amazing:

There are jumping monsters and earthworms, monsters shooting with spikes, monsters that run along walls, huge fiery demons and mighty titans.

Special attention is paid to bosses: Each of them has a unique AI, and require a special approach to face.

Each weapon in the game is balanced, and has a unique feature:

Your shotgun is good to have handy for its powerful headshots.

The machine gun is able to paralyze monsters with a quick burst.

The laser yields powerful, concentrated damage

A grenade launcher takes out an area, creating a big explosion.

Also, the supernatural abilities of the demon complement the arsenal of fire. Zexus is able to fly level, moving instantaneously. And also there’s the Demon Roar, which tears all enemies to pieces.

The level of graphics has increased dramatically with a variety of locations and bright special effects, explosions, sparks and blood. The game has several hours of chaotic gameplay and 3 difficulty levels for any type of player.

In Brief:
Cemetery Warrior 4 is a first person horror shooter loosely inspired by the likes of the Painkiller and early Doom games.
You can see a few videos of game play HERE - (Boss levels only), HERE - (includes the intro sequence and the first two chapters.) & HERE - (includes the first three chapters)..

The Game:
Cemetery Warrior 4 is an improvement on all three previous Cemetery Warrior titles. It has a reasonable intro' with some control over configuring the graphics e.g. shadows, post effects, textures and screen resolutions; even the main menu looks more professional (at least compared to Cemetery Warrior 1, 2 & 3).

The game includes four chapters; each of which is split into two parts, the main chapter and a boss level i.e.1st Chapter = Catacombs + (Boss: Fallen Prince), 2nd Chapter = Abandoned Paradise + (Boss: Corpse Eater), 3rd Chapter = Golden Caves + (Boss: Rexoul) and finally the 4th Chapter = Cursed World + (Boss: Father). The graphics are also an improved on previous versions of the game and the weapons look even more Painkiller like, with excellent effects and lots of blood and gore.
Kill all the demons in each stage, making sure you pick up their souls before they disappear. These give you access to more ammunition and health regeneration via the soul keeper; but you have to touch it to gain both. Souls are especially important in the harder modes because no souls means no spare ammunition or health regeneration in the hardest mode. Once you've dispatched all the demons in a stage you unlock the next stage/gate and can then proceed; once a chapter is completed, you face a boss battle. There are three levels of difficulty (Imp, Demon and Satan). The easiest is Imp, with the boss having reduced power as well as all enemies with a reduced HP and all HP is restored when you touch the soul keeper even if you haven't collected any souls; whereas the hardest difficulty i.e. Satan, the soul keeper only restores health and ammunition if you have collected souls; plus, bosses are more powerful and enemies are harder to kill. Demon difficulty is somewhere between the above two difficulty modes.

Conclusion:
The game itself is relatively mediocre compared to the likes of the Painkiller and early Doom series, both of which appear to have inspired this game; some Steam community members also give it a Serious Sam feel. However, as mentioned above, this fourth title in the series is an improvement on all three previous titles; and is reasonably playable, especially If you like the Painkiller series or for that matter any of the early Doom games. In that case, you'll probably enjoy playing this game in short bursts. For me it's definitely more a coffee/tea break game than a fully fledged first person shooter.

The four chapters included with this game should give you no more than ninety minutes or less of game play, depending on how good you are with this type of FPS game. You should easily complete a single chapter over a 10 to 20 minute coffee/tea break. :).

Whiterabbit-uk,

Free or Discounted Games:
Please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE (non-Steam games) and HERE (Steam games) for the latest freebies. It's kept up to date frequently, (thanks for keeping this up to date Delenn, very much appreciated).

Steam Games:
Black Desert a massive multiplayer online RPG with an online coop mode plus one DLC pack is presently free on Steam HERE until April 13th. You can see lots of images over in the Game Discussion forums HERE as well as several videos of game play in the Steam Store HERE. (Thanks for the heads up Mike); already had this in my account :).

For the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' order by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB (the Steam database) with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green and those in blue are on your wish list. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see the percentage off as 100%. It's worth checking this regularly to make sure you don't miss the best deals and freebies. There is an early access game presently free on Steam called KEO (usually £9.99).

Delenn usually posts links to all free games within several hours of them going live, so check her links in the first paragraph above.

If you have a Steam account and like to collect soon to be removed games, all five that were listed here; i.e. Far Sky, The free Ones, Sky Break, Knockout Checkers Chamber and Gods Remastered have now been removed from Steam. I don't know of any other outlet that sells any of these games, but, if you still wanted any of them, you may be able to find keys on the various sites that sell Steam key, but there's no guarantee that any will be available. If you've purchased any game that is later removed from the Steam store, you will still always be able to download and play it via your Steam library despite it no longer being available via Steam; that is unless its one of those Massive Multiplayer Online games where the only access is via the developers servers and no single player elements. Once the developers no longer support the game and close the servers down you can no longer access the game. (e.g. Defiance, Guardians of Ember, plus loads more).
Indie Gala:
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; the most recent additions include:
1) ... Vroom Racing (Drive a Formula 1 car upon 18 worldwide tracks : Reach 380 Km/h and beat the ghost !)

2) ... Project Restart (An anime visual novel, two versions English & Portuguese)

3) ... Super Toy cars (ReRUN ... a tabletop arcade combat racing game)
Check the freebie section for the latest additions; if you've not visited for a while, also check the Showcase section for older freebies. All or most new freebies should be on the first page of the Showcase pages. We have been given over 340 games since I started to check the freebie section in 2018. But around 60% of those are no longer available free. The following recent freebies have now been removed from the free library: Cursed Sight, Pixel Puzzles 2, Spring Bonus, Little Kite, Last Dream, Unhack, Trainpunk Run, Pixel Puzzles 2: Paintings, Hamsterdam, Copperbell, Chainsaw Warrior, Leisure Suit Larry 2 Looking For Love (In Several Wrong Places), Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards , Figment, Pixel Puzzles 2: Space, Revolution Ace, Six Sides of the World, Byte Family, Alone on Mars, Garfield Kart, Nostradamus the Last Prophecy, Snowball, Pixel Puzzles 2: Christmas , Die Young (Full version), Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner, and Contract with the Devil.

Any game you claim while it's being offered is DRM free and will remain in your Indie Gala library permanently (unless Indie Gala goes bust) and can be downloaded at any time, under the showcase or freebie section; 115 games are still available. Not all games that go into the showcase remain free and are removed after a short period; e.g. the recent adventure puzzler Figment that costs almost £15 on Steam; so, you should grab them as quickly as you can. To find your games go to your account and from the drop down menu select 'My Library'. When the page opens find the 'Showcase' button in the banner along the top of the page and, from the drop down menu select 'Showcase'. There are only 8 games per page, so, if like me you have added hundreds to your account/library. Each page from your free list can take 30 or more seconds to move to the next page so it can take a good twenty minutes to get to the last page depending on how many of the free games you've claimed.
CD Keys:
Another decent site that you should check out regularly is CD Key HERE. They have some very good discounts on top notch AAA games for all the popular platforms (PC, PSN, Xbox, Nintendo), sometimes as much as 99% off. for example Madden NFL 22 is only £0.39 (usually £49.99), Grand Theft Auto V Premium Ed' 84% off (£7.99), Sims 4 85% off (£5.99), Star Wars The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition £1.79 , Dying Light Platinum Edition 92% off (£5.29 - includes 22 of the paid for 26 DLC's, with a further 11 free DLC's available.), Assetto Corsa 83% off (£3.99), Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition 91% off (£2.99), Civilization VI Platinum Edition 91% off (£8.99), Cities Skyline 90% off (£3.09), Hitman GOTY Ed' 92% off (£3.99), Sniper Elite 4 83% off (£6.99), Stellaris 99% off (£0.19), The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series 86% off (£5.49), Battlefield V 85% off (£7.39), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 89% off (£0.79), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II : The Sith Lords 89% off (£0.79), Planet Coaster 83% off (£4.99), Injustice 2 92% off (£3.99), Kerbal Space Program 85% off (£4.49) this is included in the Stand with Ukraine bundle, Fallout 3 GOTY Ed' 80% off (£2.99), Fallout 4 91% off (£3.49), Tekken 7 90% off (£3.99), Garfield Kart: Furious Racing 92% off (£1.09), Dawn of War Franchise Pack 97% off (£3.19 usually £99), Assassins Creed: Unity 91% off (£3.49), Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker 95% off (£1.99), Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition 86% off (£9.99), Outlast 2 90% off (£2.39), The Escapists 2 85% off (£2.99), Battlefield 1 Revolution 87% off (£7.99), Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior 2 89% off (£0.79), Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Season Pass Edition 96% off (£1.49), Elite Dangerous 84% off (£3.99), Killing Floor 2 89% off (£2.29), Lego: The Incredibles 93% off (£2.49), Lego: DC Super Villains 93% off (£2.49), Resident Evil Biohazard 90% off (£4.99), Resident Evil HD Remaster 87% off (£3.19), Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 91% off (£4.99), The Evil Within 92% (£2.49), Metro Exodus Gold Edition 83% off (£9.99), Shadow warrior 2 90% off (£3.59), Warhammer 40 000 Space Marine - Anniversary Ed' 93% off (£2.99) plus many more amazing deals.

Be sure to check that keys from CD Keys are redeemable in whichever country you live in (it details where it can be redeemed) as prices and the ability to redeem keys in particular countries may differ. I've quoted prices from the UK pages of CD keys. I recently got an Origin key for Star Wars: Squadrons for 99% off, costing me £0.34; it usually retails for £34.99, I also got 32% off a pre order copy of Dying Light 2 a couple of weeks before it was released in February, saving around £20 off the release price.
Epic Games:
The latest Epic games include Rogue Legacy - A genealogical rogue-"LITE" where anyone can be a hero. Each time you die, your unique child will succeed you. One child might be colour-blind, another might be a dwarf with vertigo. But that's OK, because no one is perfect, and you don't have to be to succeed and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (given away previously) - a first-person mystery focused on exploration and discovery. As an occult-minded detective Paul Prospero, piece together the truth behind Ethan’s disappearance — and the fate of his family.

Next week (14th April at 4pm UK/11am Eastern) we will be getting Insurmountable - an adventure roguelike with permadeath, in which the player has to overcome huge mountains. Thanks to the procedurally created environment, no two climbs are the same. Make sure that your climber stays alive by always making sure that your vital values don't get into the critical range. and the excellent X-Com 2 - the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year
Indie Bundles:
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2010 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be, with most of the bundles containing cheap stocking fillers and a lot of 'adult only 'hentai like ' games). The Humble site is, in my opinion, the best; though a more recent addition that is worth checking out called Fanatical games, that used to be called Bundle Stars, looks to be a serious contender for that title as they have some very good bundles. Presently Fanatical hosts fifteen bundles:

Mystery Bounty Bundle
Build your own Ultimate VR Bundle 2
Build your own Slayer Bundle 5
Build your own Anime Bundle 4
Killer Bundle 21 Redux
Build your own Backstage Bundle 2
Diamond Collection: Build your own Bundle
Build your own Nitro Bundle 2
Platinum Collection: Build your own Bundle March (ends soon)
Indie Must Play Bundle
Build your own Spring Bundle
Guardian Bundle 6
Build your own All Stars 4 Bundle
RPG Maker Bundle
Journey Bundle
Build your own Puzzle Bundle
Grey Alien Games Bundle
Kings & Queens Bundle

You can find the Fanatical bundles page HERE.
The latest Humble Choice bundle went live Tue 5th April and lasts until the 3rd May 22 and includes eight Steam games Ghostrunner, Destroy All Humans!, Monster Sanctuary, KillSquad, Suzerain, Chicken Police, Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos and Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. Subscriptions to the Choice bundle have recently been changed, levelling the ground for all subscribers. The monthly cost is a meagre $12/£8.99 with other benefits such as access to a lot of indie titles for free while subscribed and a percentage off other purchases from the Humble store. This discount increases the longer you stay subscribed up to a year with 20% off all none bundle purchases. (1 month sub' gives 10% off, 3 months sub' gives 15% off and six months sub 'gives 17% off).

The latest Humble Bundles include the following:

!) ... Europa Universalis IV: The Complete Collection Contains the base game plus 32 DLC's for £15.20 usually costs £390.89 (ends 13th April).

Free Game Project:
I've restarted a project I originally started back in 2008 that used to be called Good Games to Grab, where I posted free games over in the forums on a daily basis; however, I won't be posting them daily this time, only as and when I have time and the inclination. You can find the new forum section entitled 'Free Game Project' HERE. So far, I've posted eight excellent PC games, plus one android game as well as suggested or linked to others similar to the ones posted. I'll be adding more as and when I have the time or the mood takes me over the coming months.

Amazon Prime Gaming:
If you have Amazon Prime you also get access to a new set of free games every month. The April freebies include the fantastic The Elder Scrolls Oblivion from GOG (You can find loads of mods, addons and other related files over on Nexus mods HERE. ModDB also have many files available for the game (over thirty thousand) HERE (files), HERE (add-ons) and HERE (mods).).

From Origin you get the 3D version of Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neigbourville (I'm really pleased to see this one; I was intending to buy it in the next Steam sale as it's been on my wish list since it's release) . Plus there are several other games from Plug in Digital and Lucas Arts free this month.

On top of those full game freebies there's also a shed load of add-ons and other DLC content for various Free to Play and commercial titles such as GTA V, Overwatch, League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Two Point Hospital, The Crew 2, Fall Guys, Blade & Soul, FIFA 22, Madden NFL 22 (the full game was free on Origin last month via Amazon Gaming, now you get some extra stuff to add to the game). Also extra's for Battlefield 2042, Splitgate, Gildwars 2, Black Desert Mobile, Warframe, Doom Eternal and over 20 other titles.
Other Free or Discounted Games:
Black And White Apocalypse that was given away mid January (HERE) by the developer Hammergames is always free via Itch.io and can also be downloaded as a colour version. You can find both versions via the following links Black & White version, and Coloured version. :) Hammergames also offer other games they have created free HERE. Some of them look like they are worth investigating. :)

Stay safe everyone.

The game refused to install under Windows XP (typical ... ) .
Booted Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit and tried to install the game .
I've got an error message ... unsupported O.S. and something about 32bit / 64bit O.S .
Possibly the game needs an 64bit O.S . in order to get installed and be played .

I think all the previous Cemetery Warrior games had problems installing under Windows XP
but they did not have any problems installing under Windows 7 .
Then I could play them under Windows XP .

With Cemetery Warrior 4 this is not the case ...

After reading WR's review , I would love to play the game .
Also , I would love to have the info (in the blue box) , that the game needs an 64bit O.S . in
order to get installed .
I am annoyed that I've spent time to download the 406 mb and booting / rebooting between
2 different O.Ses ...

Due to my health problems I don't have the energy to spent for nothing .... so ...GOTD Team
please do something about the missing info in the blue box .

Nevertheless , GOTD Team , I truly appreciate your hard work and thank you for everything that
you offer to us .

WR , I really , truly , deeply love everything that you do (unpaid) for this site and for us .

Later ... :-)

Zip File corrupt !!!

Reply   |   Comment by Frank Mohnhaupt  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-5)

Frank Mohnhaupt,

Hi Frank,

I downloaded and unpacked the giveaway zip file to a game executable and a read me. The executable installed the game with no problems.

The game does include Falcoware's installer, (which has usually been removed for the past couple of years) and maybe the issue causing your problem. Your security may be flagging the file as malware.

The Falcoware installer includes low level adware. When you run the game from the desktop shortcut it will load up via Falcoware's installer, which shows an advert for another game while the game is loading. This takes about 30 seconds, then the game starts with no other interruptions. When you close the game down, the installer will open your browser to Falcoware's home page.

There is no malware installed to the computers system. The low level adware is completely isolated within the game, so it will only operate during the boot up of the game and when you exit the game.

The installer isn't malware; the adware is there to earn Falcoware some money, part of which is paid to the developer for allowing the game to be downloaded for free. The adware is not malicious and won't harm your computer; it's just a minor inconvenience.

Whiterabbit-uk,
I downloaded the package 3 times earlier and tried to unzip it. Each time I was shown that the file was corrupt. I also tried to repair the file with a zip repair tool, without success. Only the readme file could be unpacked after the repair.
I have now downloaded the file again and this time it worked. No idea what was wrong before. But now the problem is solved. In any case, thanks for the answer and your efforts.

Frank Mohnhaupt,

Glad to hear it's sorted. This version is much better than any of the three previous titles, though it's not as good as Cemetery Warrior V which is available on Steam
