Retro Wave Race is a game in the genre of arcade racing.

Cemetery Warrior 3 is a dynamic and exciting 3D first-person shooter with great graphics, lots of weapons and various monsters.
You will explore an ancient monastery and its dungeons. On the way you'll meet crowds of monsters and giant bosses. As always, your faithful companions - a machine gun, shotgun and grenade launcher will help you drive on! Hundreds of years ago the Holy Order of Friars built a monastery above a portal that connects our world with hell. They vowed to pray every day to restrain the forces of darkness, to keep them from escaping to the outside. For many years you were the leader of the Order, and when you became an old man, you fell asleep and went quietly to the Lord, leaving the holy craft your brothers. However, after a couple of years the monks betrayed their oath. They made a pact with Satan for worldly pleasures and enjoyments. Now their prayer is directed to the call of the son of Satan – Zeksus, and they themselves are turned into hideous creatures. Sacred power brings you back, so you can get things in order! Almighty has bestowed upon you again youth and strength! And this time, the weapons! Lots of weapons!

Cemetery Warrior 3:

In Brief:
Cemetery Warrior 3 was a Greenlight project released on Steam Feb 2017; though it has since been removed. It's a Doom like First Person Shooter, with updated graphics, though some of the Steam community reviews say it looks more like an android game. There used to be a warning that the contents of the game may not be appropriate for all ages.

It has been given away twice previously. The first time, on the 29th December 2017it was a limited giveaway, where the game was given a 52% positive rating from 31 votes, with 20 comments which you can read HERE. Then it was given away again as a full giveaway the following year on the 27th December 2018 where it received a 90% positive rating from ' ten' votes, with six comments, which you can see HERE.

You can see several in-game videos of game play HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. I've not watched all of these videos, so don't know whether any inappropriate language has been used?

Cemetery Warrior 4 and Cemetery Warrior V are still available via Steam. Both are a big improvement on the three previous versions of the game.

The Game:
I Initially found Cemetery Warrior 3 very frustrating, with no health packs apparent in the first stage, that is until I managed (after a few attempts) to pass the control point once I'd cleared the first room. I died numerous times so never progressed very far, so cannot say what the later levels look like apart from those posted on YouTube (see videos links above). At the start of the game, your only weapon is a chain which feels really sluggish to wield. You have to get close up and personal to kill the attacking enemies. If you manage to clear the first room, you then need to walk onto a control point that looks like a group of glowing flames with skull faces. Your enemies seem to have a much longer reach than you, so trying to avoid getting hit seems really hit and miss, which probably explains why I kept dying.

The game is Doom/Wolfenstein/Painkiller like in its appearance/weapons etc, but any resemblance to those games ends there. Your health is regenerated when you pass a control point and once you've got your first weapon ammo becomes readily available. Other weapons include a shotgun and rocket launcher. Your first gun, a weird looking machine gun (probably Painkiller influenced) is awarded after you've cleared the second room. Once you've earned a gun, avoiding losing health is much easier and progress is swifter, though enemies do spawn from more points so you need to watch your sixes (back) to survive.

Conclusion:
If you've played the original Doom, Wolfenstein, Painkiller or the early Serious Sam games, you'll probably enjoy playing this game. I've played all of them and still do occasionally. Sadly this doesn't come close to the enjoyment I got out of playing any one of the above named games, perhaps it's almost as good as Wolfenstein, which for those not in the know was the first commercially successful game of this type; released way back in the early 90's (though the original Wolfenstein games i.e. Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein both top down 2D games were released in 1981 and 1984 respectively.

Whether I'll return to the game in the near future is another question I cannot answer at this time. I did buy the game via Steam when it was released February 2017, though, as already mentioned, it's since been removed from Steam for some reason? Overall I would score this a generous 6 out of 10 and that's only because I'm a fan of those early retro shooters that Cemetery Warrior 3 was probably influenced by.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 59 antimalware engines.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that only opens your browser once to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and also places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed).

The installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page following the games installation, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. Once you've installed the game, there are no more browser redirections. This is because Falcoware removed their installer over a year ago (that installer would show an advert for a game and then open your browser each time you played and then closed the game down.)

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Whiterabbit-uk,

Other Free Games:
For other free games, please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE (non-Steam games) and HERE (Steam games) for the latest freebies; it's kept up to date frequently, whenever a free game becomes available, (thanks for keeping this up to date Delenn, very much appreciated).

Also, for the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB (the Steam database) with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green and those in blue are on your wish list. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see the percentage off as 100%. It's worth checking this regularly to make sure you don't miss the best deals and freebies. Delenn usually posts links to all free games within several hours of them going live, so check her links at the top of this comment as well.
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; the most recent additions include:

2) ... Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards (a returning giveaway)

4) ... Avani: The Primal Land (Explore, gather, learn, craft and build in the world of Avani: The Primal Land. Fight, hunt and tame wild animals. Animals have their own genetics and no animal is like the other. The interactive taming process allows making a real bond with each tame. Avani offers a unique crafting system combined with a huge skill tree and an intuitive building system mixed with traditional survival game elements)

5) ... Cov Shooter (Try to survive as many waves as possible, upgrade your stats and weapons to do that)

6) ... WTC : Relentless Protagonist [Sxs}, (a short mostly KINETIC comedy/drama visual novel)

7) ... Out of Puberty: Chapter 1 (graphic novel, contains adult themes and not suitable for children)

The following (previously) free games have now been removed from the free library: Figment, Pixel Puzzles 2: Space, Revolution Ace, Six Sides of the World, Byte Family, Alone on Mars, Garfield Kart, Nostradamus the Last Prophecy, Snowball, Pixel Puzzles 2: Christmas , Die Young (Full version), Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner, and Contract with the Devil. All remaining freebies can be found in the showcase section (113 games are available). Not all games that go into the showcase remain free and are removed after a short period; so, you should grab them as soon as you can.

The latest Epic Game (ends tomorrow) is Windbound - Shipwrecked alone on an uncharted island, explore, adapt and navigate the land and perilous seas to stay alive. As Kara, you are a warrior, caught at sea in a fierce storm, adrift from your tribe. Thrown from your boat, at the mercy of the turbulent waters, you are tossed on to the shores of the Forbidden Islands, a mysterious paradise.

Next Thursday 17th February we will be getting Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons - Guide two brothers on an epic fairy tale journey from visionary Swedish film director, Josef Fares and top-tier developer Starbreeze Studios. This is one journey you will never forget. (This game is also included in the latest Humble Choice bundle as a Steam key - see below for the Humble Choice details).
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be) where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best; though a more recent addition that is worth checking out called Fanatical games looks to be a serious contender for that title as they have some very good bundles. You can find Fanatical games (that used to be called Bundle stars) HERE.

I've restarted a project I originally started back in 2008 that used to be called Good Games to Grab, where I posted free games over in the forums on a daily basis. I won't be posting them daily this time; only as and when I have time and the inclination. You can find the new forum section entitled 'Free Game Project' HERE. So far, I've posted eight excellent PC games, plus one android game as well as suggested or linked to others similar to the ones posted e.g.

Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe (a squad based solo shooter). Battlegroup 44 (a free-standing mod for Battlefield 2 that is a follow up to the original Battlefield 1942). Slam Tilt (an excellent pinball game with four tables). 3-D Ultra Pinball: Creep Night, (one of my all-time favourite pinball games from the mid 90's). Breakquest (one of my all-time top ten 2D breakouts). Messy Paths (an android game). Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles (fan made free standing Castelvania game). Conflict Vietnam (third person squad-based shooter). Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2006 Trophy Season (a linear hunting game). I'll be adding more over the coming months.

Black And White Apocalypse that was given away some weeks ago by the developer Hammergames is always free and can also be downloaded as a colour version. The community member Space pointed this out at the time. You can find both versions over on itch.io via the following links Black & White version, and Coloured version. :)

You can also find 'all nine' of the developers' games (for free) HERE. Some of them look like they are worth investigating. :)

The latest Humble Choice bundle went live on at the beginning of February and includes eight games plus one DLC pack; i.e. Borderlands 3 with the director's cut DLC included, Black Book, Per Aspera, Just Die Already, Before We leave, Paradise Lost, Everhood and Calico. For original Humble Bundle subscribers, the cost is $12/£8.99 with other benefits such as access to a lot of indie titles for free while subscribed and a percentage off other purchases from the Humble store. This increases the longer you keep subscribed up to a year with 20% off all none bundle purchases. (1 month sub' gives 10% off, 3 months sub' gives 15% off and six months sub 'gives 17% off)

The latest Humble Bundle called **** Cancer, that costs a minimum of £7.40 (would normally cost you almost £207) that includes a fantastic mix of AAA and substantial indie arcade games ends tomorrow (Friday), late afternoon. Every penny/cent goes to cancer research. The bundle includes World War Z: Aftermath, Dead by Daylight, Payday 2, Magika, Dungeon of the Endless, theHunter: Call of the Wild, Homeworld Remastered Collection, Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, Little Nightmares, Brothers _ A Tale of two Sons, Peppy's Adventure, Red Faction Armageddon, Hamiltons Great Adventure. You can find details of the bundle that ends Friday 18th February HERE (in a few weeks I may be giving away some of the Steam keys from that bundle as I already had ten of the twelve titles. It was still worth getting because I wanted World War Z: Aftermath, to play cooperatively with friends, which normally costs £30.99); that said I'd forgotten I'd picked the game up previously via Epic Games when it was given away last year.

If you have Amazon Prime, the February games are now available. You can get Stellaris on GOG for free. Visit Prime Gaming for details.

Stay safe everyone.
