Hi everyone
Need your tech knowledge and advice please.
Have installed the game (both from gamegiveaway and Toomky website) and it does not work on my system. Icon opens on Windows Explorer task bar and I can hear the game's music but nothing more.
Am running Windows 10 Home on a 64 bit system. Are the problems caused because this is a 32 bit game?
Anyone know how to get the game running please?
Thanks so much x

BigLoveDeb,
Hi BigLoveDeb, Try the following in the order I've listed them:
1) ... Right click on the games executable or shortcut and select properties, then click on the compatibility tab. Change the Operating system to Win 8 or Win 7, and make sure the admin check-box is checked
2) ... While still in compatibility mode check the Run in 640 x 480 screen mode and or disable full screen optimization
3) ... While still in compatibility mode check the Reduced color mode then from the drop down menu (where it says 8 bit (256) colour select While still in compatibility mode check the16 bit (65536) colour
4) ... While still in compatibility mode click on the Change high DPI settings button then check one of the check boxes (the second one first)
5) ... If none of the above work, try changing the monitors resolution. Annoying, but if it gets the game to work, it's only a minute of your time - if you're not sure how to change your monitors resolution, right click anywhere on your desktop )but not on any icon); from the drop down menu select Display Settings. This opens the Display settings. Look for the Scale and layout section and click on the Resolution drop down menu. Select a resolution lower than the one that it is already set at. Usually there will be a list of all the resolutions you can set the monitor to. There will be one that has recommended in brackets. If your settings are already below this then select the recommended settings, otherwise try setting it lower than the one you already have it set to. Make a not of the actual setting you have so that after you have finished playing the game you can reset it back to what it was. Some settings wont be suitable as you'll find some are for different shaped monitors i.e. traditional square and different wide screen types. When you first change the resolution you get several seconds to okay it; if you don't it will revert back to what it was. This way you can ensure you don't select a setting that isn't designed for your monitor. Once you find a size that matches the dimensions of your monitor click on the keep changes button.

voorbijganger, Hi Voorbijganger, unfortunately yes. so long as the fix works for you that is okay, but I had to delete your comment for the reasons I explained last week. It's possible that it was picking up the TooMkyGames installer, which contains low level adware, that earns them sone, some of which goes to pay the developers of the games we are being given. Sorry.

I am really enjoying this game.
Have been coming here for some time and thought it time to say a "Thank you for all the games offered".
I like board games, and HOG's, so every time I see something I like, download with no problems, knowing this is a safe site to come to and visit.
This game is slightly different and very enjoyable.
Thank you once again.

One of my favorite clutter games. The story plot is comical but it's typical of a young witch. She meets characters along the journey which hail from a horror show but she takes it as normal. I really like this genre of hidden objects. I turn the music off as well as any sound effects. The detailing is cartoonish but the items to be found are drawn decently, some lending to the theme. It's my go-to game when I want to busy myself but not have to think too much on what I'm doing.

Downloaded and installed fine on WIn10Homex64. Thus far, the game is fun and somewhat challenging. Graphics are clear and crisp, music and sound fitting. I am playing in casual mode and currently stuck on level 4, having repeated it numerous times but I persevere to get through it in the time limit and, until desperation strikes, without hints. I look forward to continuing it when time allows.
A fresh game from a new distributor. Thank you and welcome TooMky Games! And thank you GGOTD and, as always, Whiterabbit-uk!

I've only gone through the first level so haven't had time to encounter some of the problems others are experiencing. So far, I like this game quite a lot. Nice graphics, not only pretty but easy on the eyes in the sense that it doesn't create eye strain, items are sharp and clear. The music is soothing. I really enjoy this departure from the usual HOG. I've played this kind before, and I'm keeping this one. Thank you ToomkyGames and gotd.

I love this puzzle game! And I didn't even notice that it was a Toomky game until it opened the Toomky webpage after I installed it. BUT, that's all it does! And you don't have to delete any icons or shortcuts once you've installed it. It's a pretty clean installation!
And FYI, you CAN change from "Casual" to "Very Casual" mid-game. You start playing a level that is timed, if that's how you have it set. You play until you fail. You begin the level again. Go to Menu and Options and change it to Very Casual. The level you've started right then will remain with the old setting. But, once you fail and have to begin that level again, it will recognize the new setting and not have a timer ticking away at the bottom. And then, if you want to switch back to timed while you're playing that level, go ahead and do that in Menu, Options and then once you complete the current level untimed, your next level will reflect your new setting. I assume you can keep doing this throughout the game if you keep getting stuck on levels.
Very good game! Thanks GOTD team and thanks for trying out Toomky games. :-)

Oh and also, I've been able to click on things that are still pretty obscured and click on its match. It seems to differ that way from traditional Mahjong games in that an object doesn't seem to have to be completely free to choose it. That's how it is for me so far, anyhow.

Dax, Thanks for the heads up on the ability to change modes mid game. I'd spent so much time on level seven (almost 2 hours) and needed to finish the review, I had to close the game down without following through. . I promised the giveaway team I'd post a full review seeing as we have a new distributor). (picking out B&W and color matches that I just gave up. I'm more likely to continue with the game now that I know i can change it to very casual. :)

Dax,
Yes, thanks for that info! If I cannot get through level 4, I may resort to that!

My anti-virus said the set-up file contained a Trojan horse virus. I've never had this problem with games coming from My Play City.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I used ALL my hints, but finally got through Level 6. Maybe I can get more hints for later.
Level 6 DOES NOT work as the instructions state.

New type of game for me: Excellent graphics, challenging tasks, no timer - this is my type of game.
Feeling very entertained and relaxed like a buddha.
Thanks very much.

Nope... even on "Casual" mode, way too much time pressure trying to sort out the jumbles of objects.
I don't "buy" games in order to have to keep repeating the same levels over and over until some random number generator gives me a pile that can be sorted within an arbitrary time limit.
Really too bad too, because this game has a different approach from the usual "hidden object game" we usually see.

BobR,
Hi Bob, you can play the game on very casual where no level is timed, so the game can be played at your own pace. I agree that having to play a level over and over, which I did with level 7 (spent almost 2 hours trying to progress), then gave up and didn't feel like working through levels 1 to 7 again even without the timer.. Maybe I will at later date.

Whiterabbit-uk, "didn't feel like working through levels 1 to 7 again even without the timer". hmm I was looking in review as to whether or not feature of in-game switching modes is available. Guess not so which is bit nasty. Have formed habit when playing a new type of game/designer that I just play a level or two. Exit & reload to see what is saved or allowed as to things like switching or level save. Best games worn you whether leaving now will force replaying level (or worse like from first level). Same goes for ones that allow for switching character within game/level. Does that reset you back to initial status or not. Things good to know especially when lot of these small games come w/o instructs.

Whiterabbit-uk, Fonts in game too blurry, what file to change or screen res?

Bobber2, tryed screen res lower , looks same , cannot go higher than 1600 x 900. so reset to this and maybe recheck after reboot later or tomorrow. even set game to windowed mode, by trial and error.

On Level 6 you are to hold down the cursor and drag the items from off the pile, so you can match them. I was not able to use my cursor to move them. If I use a "hint" they will separate and be clicked to remove, but cannot point and drag to remove. Will not be able to complete the game so will uninstall it, unless somebody can figure out another way to drag and drop for me.
Thanks for all the cool games. Enjoy your life with your family... :-)

Sunnie, thanks for posting this, as I was just about to download it. Will wait and see if you get any help here before ending up frustrated :).

Sunnie, I couldn't get the pieces to move either so I looked for similar colors and kept clicking. Actually added some challenge to the level. It was harder on the level where one set was black and white and the other was color but still doable if you are up for the challenge.
I like the game, it is a good time waster.

Sunnie, Hi Sunnie, I didn't have any problems dragging each object off the pile in the middle. I separeated about 12 before I found my first match, from then on it was very easy. Probably thje easiest match ing pairs level in the whole game.

Sunnie,
I had the same experience as Nancy (and you, apparently)... couldn't move the pieces.
I tried Shift-Click and Alt-Click and pretty much everything I could think of, but they just wouldn't move.
So I hit on the same thing Nancy did... you have to click the points and curls of the various pieces, watch them bounce up and down, and try to find points and curls of another piece that matches.
Takes a LONG time (remember that the pieces aren't all necessarily oriented in the same direction), but it CAN be done.

Sunnie,
After playing through the game most of the afternoon, I noticed some odd things happening...
There are several other levels that have the same problem... you're supposed to move the pieces by clicking and holding the mouse, but nothing happens and they stay in one big pile.
But- partway through the game I noticed it started working!
I didn't do anything different to "fix" it, just all of a sudden it started grabbing the pieces and moving them when I held the mouse button down.... for a while... before I'd gotten through the pile, moving things out of the way it randomly STOPPED working again.
Took a long time to work through the remaining matches just messing with the edges of the pile, but eventually I got through it.
Then the next time this type of puzzle showed up, the same thing happened... it just seems to be random as to whether or not it'll move the pieces.
Oh well... at least it's possible to proceed, even though it takes forever.
