Explore a huge maze found by archaeologists in the desert.

Dwarves are back, and now they are about to explore dozens of new game levels provided in Set 10!

This is not just another fairy tale. It's a saga about the everlasting battle between good and evil, and you are the main character. Since earliest times the glorious clan of dwarves is standing guard over the subterranean world. And this work is hard and all-important indeed. Only the few know that all the worlds are connected to each other with secret passages. Most of these passages are underground, hidden from strangers' eyes. A casual traveler enters a cave as a shelter from bad weather, but we know it hides a gate to another world. A gate from where unbidden visitors may come.

The dwarves are guarding the passage secret and keep peace in their world... And now the world shuddered. For the majority it is just a natural disaster. But we know: the world substance is torn, it's time to take arms, go down and stop the invaders.

Your mission is to purge the dungeons from the evil and gather as much treasures as you can - it will take plenty of gold and diamonds to repair the seal on the Gate between the worlds.

The Warrior and the Wizard are the greatest heroes of their people. What do you prefer - slashing steel or will-power? Make your choice and start your journey.

Remember, the fate of many worlds depends on you...

this game froze on my computer as did their other game, but with this one i had to completely reformat, my computer to get it back. thought it had cute graphics would be fun to play but somethings definitely wrong with it. lost everything i have downloaded here and all my favorites for the last month, it was a horrible deal.

White rabbit! ;)

I just couldn't understand your tone! It was so different from your past helpful comments.

It's lucky that I don't give people the power to upset me - it's all in a life attitude and can make one much tougher inside than they appear to be on the outside.

I am glad that you continue to be a really nice person. :) I'm so happy that I checked to see if there was a response to my earlier comment!

Have a super day!

Hello Briaux ;)
(What a beautiful name!)

Thank you so much for those links! I'm thrilled to bits!

Just so GameOver really understands and doesn't think it's just me: this is what someone had to say to Arcess.com (the first link:)

"I just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know what a valuable resource you are supplying. I've been searching the net high and low for games for the handicapped guys I work with, to no avail..... until today. So thanks for providing a much needed product. I look forward to seeing what other games you are working on."

There's is a whole market there ;)

Once again, thank you Briaux, you've really made my day!

Hello white rabbit,

You told me to ..

"... give it a rest. You’re being quite annoying. The inane blather you spout only deters game developers from offering their games for free here."

Until GOTD actively deters free speech, and bans disabled people from their site, I'll continue to make developers aware of a situation that might just improve their sales and make many other people happy at the same time.

I guess it's lucky that I'm not .. err .. insecure about game developers taking honest criticism and working towards pleasing a wider audience. I'm sure they all have thick skins - I'm married to a software engineer and trust me, they aren't going to jump ship from a potential money source just because one woman happens to dislike the fact they've chosen/forgotten to include the mouse feature.

You attribute too much power to me whiterabbit .. :) :)

Thank you for the time you spent typing up such a denigrating, rude response to a note that wasn't even directed at you -

I had once thought you better than the whiner group ;)

Have a sweet evening all ;)

Hey...comment #32 was not made by me 'Whiterabbit aka Stephen' someone is using my name again... and judging by a few of the comments following mine they may have done it more than once.... GGAotD team, please delete the comment as I wouldn't say such a thing. Also please check to see who did leave it via the Email they supplied. (that' if they had the guts to leave a genuine Email) You can see that my Email is 'somewhat' similar to my name. Thanks.

To Swan...as far as i'm concerned you are entitled to your opinion... I'm also disabled, but in a different way so appreciate what you are saying

This game is fun... its relaxing but the music is so lame and anoying it leaves a ringing in your ears if you try to bare with it GRR but the gameplay is fun and the graphics are good and it runs great for my cheap computer. Thanks Ggaotd!!

Thank you for a well thought out and professionally done game. The music--ick, I turned the sound down after a while, but... No glitches in play, no programming surprises. I especially enjoyed the commend with the CHEAT tips in it. How do people figure that out?! Thanks for this one! A keyboard controlled platform game for people who don't do the shoot-em-up games. Nice.

Great little game, reminds me of the style of gaming back on my old Atari 800XL (a whole whopping 64K memory there). It is modern enough but with the retro flavor. Definitely a thumbs up from this Old School D&D player.

I love games like this - challenging and fun - without being too hard or too fast. I would also like to be able to work the game one handed or with a mouse - usually play games while rocking the baby to sleep - haven't a clue what the music sounds like because I turn it off first thing so it doesn't keep the baby awake. I'm so glad I found this site because we have super slow call-up (could get satalite for $120 a month - but would rather eat)... anyway, I tend to download a "free trial" to something everyday, and delete it that night after playing my free hour - just can't afford to buy more than 2-3 games a year. So I think this is absolutely wonderful. I also like games that are slower and require a bit of thinking to solve as I have trouble tracking and reacting to faster motion (I don't even drive a car!). I gave it a thumbs up and at least a 7.

This is the first game from this software site that has actually worked on my computer... although the others looked interesting, they would not proceed past the "press any key to continue" screen... even thought I installed and uninstalled several times.

I've often wondered why the negative commentators failed so many times to mention something that a junior high student SHOULD recognize... things are broken into "pieces" not "peaces." Perhaps, if they'd spend more time studying instead of playing games, they would know that.

This is the type of game that I allow my great-grandchildren to play instead of the slash, kill, maim types that are popular with the kids who value games over education.

Here is my review of the day for Brave Dwarves - Back for Treasures (Set 10):
Graphics: They looked good, no pixels missing here and there. The swings of the swords and such did not lose any motion, and that was good. A
Sound: Wow, I hated the sound for this game. The music was repetitive, and got annoying after a while. And that sound that sounded like a spray paint can shake up? Really annoyed, forcing me to turn down the volume. C
Characters: I liked the variety of characters in this game. Yet, there could have been a few more starting characters, and some enemies just had a few color changes. B
Glithchs: This game had some. I would be on a ladder, and the centipede thing could STILL hit me. I could be far away from things, and still hit them. C
Gameplay: I was surprised by the game play, it was better than I thought it would be. Although, the ability not to be able to jump off of ladders, made me a bit ticked. B

Final Score= B

Good morning everyone ..

No smiley faces from me today since the offered game only has keyboard navigation :(

I've brought dozens of people here from my mailing list which supports those people with very little dexterity.

We no longer have any faith in Gameover games who have now offered two games that are only keyboard driven.

GameOver - you don't know the market you're missing out on, just because you don't consider people's needs and give them an alternative way to operate the game - as MOST game publishers do.

No download for me today and my joint lowest score goes towards the publishers and GOTD - who don't seem to consider the disabled. I give the game one point more since I know there are other people able to play the game by using only the keys.

GOTD = 1 (still offering games that are impossible to play by the disabled.)

GameOver = 1 (still producing lazy games that don't offer alternatives for operation of the game.)

Game = 2 (going by the comments of others.)

Total Score = 4/10 especially because they obviously didn't read the same comments on GameOver's last offer.

#21 Rhoda ... It is the Microsoft Direct Input Library file, and you can download it from Audit My PC, http://www.auditmypc.com/process/dinput.asp

#24 .. the advantage to the versions offered here: they are stand-alone games. With Real Arcade, you must download the Real Arcade console AND you must have an internet connection in order for the games to operate. Could be frustrating for those with expensive or troublesome dial-up connections. Expensive, too.

#17 BSW .. chemo left me with the same unsettling reaction to 3D games. Try some of the games offered on the links I submitted in the original post. They're fun 'n free.

The Brave Dwarves series is terrific .. I would love to be able to play the versions offered here, but cannot get them to operate with mouse, track-ball, joystick or gamepad. Any suggestions from the GameOver folks would be welcome (I mean, other than requesting technical support from one of the grandkids! That is strictly a last-resort option ~grin~).

According to the above description, "Set 10" means it has "dozens" of new game levels. Considering that we had this before ("Brave Dwarves - Back for Treasure" was the giveaway on December 10th) with 100 levels, this makes for a nice update. Though, the web link to GameOver says nothing about these new levels, or what they have in store.

However, it is dissapointing to hear that Real Arcade has a version with better contols.

The Brave Dwarves game the other day could be set to use a joypad in the options menu and was really a lot of fun using it this way - no keys to remember. The Brave Dwarves game offered today also shows the ability to use a joypad in the options, but I couldn't get it to work. I will try again later to see if I can get it working. But if you can use this game with a joystick, it looks like it would also be a lot of fun.

I got the following error when I tried to start the game. This application has failed to start because the DINPUT.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. I uninstalled and then re-installed but unfortunately I keep getting the same error. It's too bad because this one looked like a good game!

Isn't this the same game you gave away in December? If so, I'm glad you're re-offering some of the games for those people who weren't aware of this site back then, as well as for those who might have lost the registration through reformatting, etc..

Thank you, GGOTD and GameOver Games. Love this site, whether I download or not.

I thought it was great. In defense of "retro" and "primitive" games, I get motion sickness. I can't play most of the 3D games and I get nauseous just watching other people play them. So I was thrilled to see this game, which is just like all the DOS games I loved back in Windows 95.

I'd give it an 8, just because I have a little trouble with the controls.

Comment #10 by Sweetest Deals; this is a stand alone version (no: 10) of the 'Brave Dwarves: Back for Treasure' game, so you don't need the original game to play it. So yes it will work. :)

Thank you GameOver Games and the GGAotD team for giving this ‘additional’ add-on to the Back for Treasure game that was given away a few months ago. Thankfully it’s a stand alone game, meaning you don’t need the original to play it. I didn't realize that there had been so many add-on’s for this particular game. {I suppose as it’s a stand alone game it’s not technically an add-on :) } I doubt I'd buy all ten of them though as my experience of buying so many add-on’s for another great game (Hyperballoid) ended up in it destroying the playability of the game as there were so many extra levels to play and they just became too jaded. This may be a little different though as it seems that each level set adds something extra like secret levels with slot machines or Tetris like games.

For those who like cheat codes to whiz through the games, or for if you get stuck on a particularly hard level, here’s a few you may find useful, you type the words exactly as shown during game play:

gameovergamez ……. Opens all weapons and adds 100 mana to each power orb

sesam ……………….. Proceed to next level

justonelife …………… Adds one life to a player

In the main menu you’ll have access to a five page information booklet that explains all about the power orb, gems and the aim of the game. This game can be played with the key board and game pad. Visiting the homepage it does say you can use a joy stick as well, however there seems to be no selection for this in the options menu. I can only assume that the game pad and joy stick are interchangeable.

This is another nice addition to my games library; however I and my kids do prefer the more graphically pleasing Brave Dwarves 2 series. Thanks for another well made game though :D

I was genuinely pleased to see another of the GameOver team's offerings; their developers are among the few producing family-oriented games that are challenging and fun. For that .. a solid ten out of ten.

Unfortunately, the previous 'Dwarves' game was difficult to play; the keyboard controls were awkward and inconsistent .. very unlike the multi-option version offered on Real Arcade and not at all what I expected from the GameOver team.

This version, too, has keyboard controls. The graphics and gameplay may be considered 'retro' by some (like the games found here http://www.gamenet.com/ , here: http://www.ovine.net/index.php and here: http://www.miniclip.com/games/en/ ) or 'primitive' by others; count me among the latter group. Perhaps I am getting harder to please in my old age, but primitive games such as this seem like a waste of resources, better suited for my old Tandy TRS-80.

I do appreciate the the skill involved in game development, just as I appreciate GGAOTD's efforts to bring the games to us. A word to the GameOver folks, though: you have a remarkably talented team producing some terrific family-oriented games ... consider giving them a little more leeway; they can do so much better than this. While you're at it, give 'em a bonus for the Brave Dwarves version offered on Real Arcade! All the neighborhood kids here enjoy playing it (heh .. when they can get me away from it, that is).

This version .. perhaps a 6 out of 10.
