Save the love of two hearts separated by a tyrant!

Happy years passed as one day. Grateful people of the Fairyland composed numerous songs and tales about the dwarves' adventures. They showed their appreciation with royal feasts.

But the real hero cannot rest on the laurels, fighting for the weak is his destiny. Weapons are sharp, magic potions not sour.

To secure peace means to prepare for war... A new challenge for your favorite heroes! This quest is even more difficult! It's the most enthralling adventure you've ever gone through... This time the dwarves are to pursue evil not only in the dungeons, but in the open air too. The enemy has cherished ill-will and got slier. Lots of his minions are out to make people suffer. Is there a hero who can come to the rescue of poor people? Two heroes armed to the teeth, with the pockets full of gold to buy more weapons from the merchant. The dwarves' courage and your ingenuity will crack this quest, but not so fast.

You'll spend long hours fully enchanted by the game, and so will your friends.

This pack has 2 new episodes: Elven Hold and Rusty Knight.

The little dwarves are too much fun .. at least on the Brave Dwarves II Deluxe. I reckon they would be fun on other versions, too, except the keyboard controls make me crazy. The Deluxe II version works with gamepad or mouse, in addition to keyboard controls ... is there any way we can get the developers to upgrade the expansion packs?

I highly recommend the Brave Dwarves Deluxe II; a demo can be downloaded free from Real Arcade. Playing that version will give you an entirely new perspective on this likeable series.

Thank you, GameOver Games .. hope to test drive more of your terrific software. Thanks again for your contributions to my software library, Giveaway team. You're the best!

Oh...if anyone decides to try the Deluxe II version ... here's a hint: try the flaming arrows when you are inside the mines!

---Welcome back, Stephen. Hope all is well with you and yours.

I love the Dwarf games. This is my first time to comment but wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the free games. I just wish I could get the game to log in. I get an error message every time. This is a first for me and I hate to miss this game. Thanks , Karen

Interesting, #35. I clicked the link YOU provide and it says "The web page you requested [http://emu-russia.km.ru/] is either currently not available or cannot be used to transmit exploits."

Since I know that the website IS there, the first part does not matter. And, since the link CAN NOT be used to transmit exploits, why would you say not to use it?

Heed, you have just completely wasted your own credibility. Nothing you say is to be trusted.

I suspect you are also an idiot.

Thank you all for your pleasant comments. I'll be Emailing a few of you just as soon as I've got myself back into the swing of things. By the way it's my Birthday today (7th June), lol....sorry for going off topic. It's nice to be back... Thankfully my P.A. has downloaded some of the games and apps over the past month.

By the way did anyone spot the slight mistake in my review above. I said there was only 2 levels in the previous give away. I meant of course todays giveaway. :)

later guys and gals, dudes and cats etc etc, lol

This crashed my computer when I first installed it but after a reboot it worked fine. This is really a beautiful game! I'm not very good at keyboard games so being able to chose and change which keys to play with is a big plus. I'm glad I tried this game, it's fun and I might learn to play keyboard games better because of it. Thanks! Thumbs up.

I too would like to welcome Stephen (Whiterabbit) back. Lovely to see your comments again. I hope things went well for you with your hospital stay and that you are better than ever now!

Excuse this not having anything to do with the game, I am delighted to know that Stephen's thoughtful reviews are here again.

I think if they should find games for older ages as well. The Alien Shooter games they gave out awhile ago were cool but recently theres only been younger children games.

I found that I made a misstatement above. I will always correct myself when I am wrong.

http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/mac/

Game console emulators that will run on MAC. They are a touch old, but apparently the devlopers feel that there simply is insufficient interest in MACrap to justify the extra work.

In my brief tests, the emulators work, some ROMS will not run, but most will. The ROMS link above provides games you can use.

Not one to leave a misstatement floating without knowing for certain, I kept searching the internet for game console emulators for MACrap. While there are not quite the pile available for Win machines, there are a few.

The best site that I found is
http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/mac/

They are all dated, but they do work. I guess that the devlopers (many originally made console emulators for Win, then changed them to work with MACrap) simply did not see that there was a sufficiently large demand for MACrap based emulators, and with MACrap being so closed with thier OS, future devlopment is just too difficult.

I assume that the ROM to which I linked in my previous message will run in these emulators. My brief test today indicated they will run, although I did run into a few ROMS that will not run on these old emulators.

Thanks for being so clear and thorough. Thanks to GGOTD too for their give aways. It's nice to know there are sites like this. I have placed both banners on my pages for others to come and see GGOTD and GOTD :)

Most games like this that can't be in a windowed version can be minimized easily (Windows, at least). Press the key on the keyboard that opens the start menu. It should minimize all fullscreen windows.

If it fails to do so, try restarting the computer. If it still fails, try again, 3 times total. I've had cases where it would fail all but one of those times, and work well the other. If it still fails after that, don't play the game if you don't want to.

*sighs*

I guess my grown son will enjoy it when they come to visit. I have collected all of them for his enjoyment, but certainly not for mine.

However, I do thank GameOver games for keeping those who enjoy the Brave Dwarves series up to date. There are certainly other games of theirs that I would prefer to see offered here for review. As it is, I can't offer a review on this until my son's have played.

Thank you also to GotD who think they're doing the best they can with these add-on game packs.

And on the brightest note of the day - welcome back Stephen (aka WhiteRabbit!) You've been missed! ;)

I sure appreciate the variety of games here.
This might not appeal to me but other games have..still am loving the Age of Japan and Flower's story is proving very challenging.
I wondered if we might be getting any other word games..I missed out on one in March which looked great(I only started viewing GGOTD in April.)

Thanks! I enjoyed one of the other Brave Dwarves games, but found it very difficult and somewhat distracting to have to use the keyboard. My friend had lent me a control pad, and it made everything so much more enjoyable. I've been meaning to go get my own gamepad, this just give me a little more incentive!

I am so sick of the whiners. I try to not say anything because just telling them to stop whining when they do not get DOOM 3 or Helix or whatever is the latest/greatest, they do not seem to ever understand.

I have decided to try to help them get a grip by pointing them to a wonderful website that offers FREE game system emulators (SNES, Sega, Playstation, Dreamcast, XBox, even handheld games like Gameboy), as well as public domain ROMS for thousands of games.

There may be some stuff that might be illegal in your country, so you must use your own sense of right and wrong. Also, there do not seem to be emulators anywhere in the world that will run on MACrap.

This first link is to a list of game console emulators. I have had Sega and SNES running on a slow 866 Pentium, some of the fancier ones barely run on my dual processor/dual core.
http://emu-russia.km.ru/default.php?a=files&cid=1&l=en

If you have a hard time installing or eunning these, try doing some reading. Most of the emulators have links to help (I seem to remember).

Next, you will need ROMS. These are dumps of game cartridges. Most of them require that you actually own the game, but it is an honor system. You are the one who will get fined if you get caught without a legit copy.
http://emu-russia.km.ru/default.php?a=roms&l=en

Now, whiners who do not get what you want, let's see you whine about this...

As for submitting something that doesn't show up....that happens to me all of the time. Only about half of my comments ever make it on to here. I notified ggotd; but so far, they don't seem to have fixed it.

Is anyone else finding this game to be way too difficult? Despite which character or which map I chose, I would get pummeled like mad and quickly die. I'm a pretty big gamer, too, so it's not like I don't know how to play these things. I finally gave up on my 5th try and decided to uninstall it. It's like someone put the settings on "expert" mode. :(

If everyone else is having an easy time playing it then I'm going to feel SO dumb. >_

I must also agree with Dotless.White Rabbit writes a great review. I do not like to use the keyboard to play either. I like the way the mouse warms up in my hand after hours of intense involvement. The keyboard requires looking away from the game which spoils my focus. A real buzzkill. However, Thomas and John, who are under 12 dont seem to mind and they like the Brave Dewarves. It is a pretty good action game. Thanks for the free download, hours of fun for them and peace for me. GAOTD is the high point of my morning, along with a hot cup of joe. You guys are way cool. The price is right. It can not get better than free.

Thank you, White Rabbit, for your well-written comments. You don't know how much I appreciate them. I was all set to download this game until I read your comment about having to use the keyboard instead of the mouse. This put the brakes on for me. I don't like games that require the keyboard.
I am so thankful to GAOTD for offering these little games, the ones I've downloaded have been delightful - - once I learned that you have to activate them first! When all else fails, read the directions, huh?
I do wish they could include whether a game is played by using the mouse or the keyboard, that would put the frosting on the cake!

I'm not sure whether this went the first time as it's not showing so sorry if this is duplicated

Sorry I was wrong….slight correction to my comment above. I rushed the comment in to clear the misunderstanding that some may have, regarding the fact that it's a later version of the game. There has actually been one expansion pack given away previously; well strictly speaking, not an expansion pack, but an updated game called Brave Dwarves 2 Deluxe, which included all the levels from the first release 'Brave Dwarves 2. This had 8 levels, plus an additional 18 levels. Brave Dwarves 2 Deluxe game has only 2 additional levels, but I am presuming they are long ones.

The main menu give you the usual list of stuff such as how to play, top scores, quit game, begin play and load saved games.

The options menu has music and volume adjusters that are given in %ages.

Detail levels can be toggled between low/medium/high.

You'll find game pad support, but unfortunately no mouse support, which is a pity as those with certain disabilities are going to find this game hard to play. There are several keys required to ply the game such as movement keys (which could easily have been coded into the game), firing weapons, choosing weapons, and showing map. All these can be changed by selecting the appropriate key, pressing return then selecting whichever key you want to bind to that particular action.

The how to play section gives you simple instructions on how to play (ob’) ‘over 9 pages’. Don't worry about the number of pages though, as each page contains very little text.

There's a parent option that will turn off the more scary elements of the game such as certain sounds and images within the game (e.g. skeletons).

The game play is the same as the other two Brave Dwarves 2 games; with the ability to select from two characters, a magician or a warrior, both of which have different attributes in game. Read the 'how to play' section for more details. There are 10 artefacts that can be bought in a shop that you will be presented with occasionally. All of which give you special powers such as a fire defence and invulnerability as well as other bonuses that increase your health or improve item values and give you more gold. In game you can pick up scrolls which can be used by the magician or other items for the warrior.

At the end of a full level you will have to fight a ruthless boss that is much stronger than the usual characters found in game.

In my opinion this series is nicer to play than the original series, although the only major difference between then is the improved graphics.

Thank you.
