I have removed the alternative games section, the problems section and various parts of my usual review, for example the Installation section. for those, especially newcomers to the site, please follow THIS link, which will take you to the game discussion forums where you can see the removed sections. I have provided a link at the other end that will return you to these comments section.

I will be re arranging everything over the course of the next few weeks, creating separate threads in the Game discussion forums for the games section and the rest. At this point in time this is only provisional. I want to see how the community reacts and whether it is a better format from my own perspective.

If you miss today's game giveaway, or have problems running it, you can get an unwrapped version free from MyPlayCity 24/7 HERE. Do watch out for tool bars and home page changes; ensure you uncheck everything if you want to avoid these and get a clean game. I've not downloaded a MPC game in a long time, but needed to last night so that I could write up a review. Whenever you start the game up there is a link that would take you to one of the free to play browser games; if you aren't bothered about this type of advertising it's basically clean of everything else once you've gone through the installation obstacle course.

Reviews:

You can see some Big Fish mini reviews of Bloom! Valentines EditionHERE, just scroll down to the middle of the page. You can also find forum discussions of the game HERE.

The Game:

Bloom! Valentine's Edition is a time management game located in Jasmine's flower shop where she plants, harvests, gathers and arranges flowers. Create bouquets of flowers for each customer who enters, trying to serve them as quickly as possible before their patience runs out. You can earn tokens that are used to upgrade parts of the shop, hire assistants, compete with rivals.

bloom 13

bloom 14

You drag and drop customers into chairs, in some cases you pamper them with drinks, then move them to the vase table where they can choose from a selection of vases. Highlight the vases to change the selection, When the customer smiles and you see sparkles you've made the right choice, click to confirm your choice. If you choose the one she likes the best you earn extra cash, this is indicated by hearts appearing around the character, if you choose the wrong vase the hearts show as broken. At the same time you need to start growing flowers by planting seed in the flower garden located to the bottom right of the playing area. Once the seeds have been planted they will require watering, then once grown they need to be harvested. Once your customer has selected a vase you move them over to the flower rack where you select from a selection of flowers. While this is going on you will need to take care of other customers, clear away empty orange glasses, ensure the flowers are harvested when grown and start the process again by planting more seeds, then watering them. Move new customers to the vacated seats, tables or flower racks and when a customer has made their selection click on the cash register to finish the sale. The initial levels are extremely easy, but the levels do get harder as you progress through the levels.

Once you've worked your way through the story board, which comprises of several pages of images that lack any real story, instead introducing you to periods in the life of Jasmine where flowers have featured significantly, e.g. her first flower, visiting grandma in hospital, graduation and her first serious boyfriend you can start the game proper by choosing the destination. Actually destinations are fixed on a map, with the United States being your first port of call. Each destination has a few objectives to complete before you can progress to the next destination. For your first tasks you need to build 2 shops, complete 10 levels and beat your rival Daisy's earnings. The first level starts with a tutorial, however, if you wish you can skip it.

If you are familiar with Dash-style type of games, for example the Sally's franchise and alike, then finding your way around Bloom! should be easy for you.

Bloom! Valentines Edition is one of those traditional Time Management games with has a classic game play. i.e. drag your customers around the shop and provide them with the services they want. As you work your way around the flower shop, there will be some pop-up mini-games to complete. One feature that slightly differs Bloom! from other games of its kind is the Flower Garden at the bottom right of the screen. The flower supply at the Flower Station does not refill automatically, you need to plant, water and cut the flowers from the garden in order to refill the supply. At the end of each level, you can use the money you earn from the level to buy upgrades and power-ups.

Apart from completing the level and reaching the target income on time, you also have a competitor in the local city to compete with. Again, this feature has been introduced before in Juliette's Fashion Empire, the developers previous foray into time management games, and basically the same game, but with a different theme.

The game features 60 levels, spread across six different big cities starting with the United States. As expected, the levels become increasingly difficult, which offers a fans of Dash oriented TM games enough challenges to deal with.

bloom 18

bloom 26

The graphics are hand-drawn cartoons and the characters look non descript, as you woukld expect from a cartoon like graphic. The music is fun and upbeat, but nothing special . In addition, the game does not even offer a Custom Cursor selection and the Widescreen support is a dull patterned bar on each side of the screen.

The Valentines edition was released as a sequel to Bloom! Share Flowers with the World a few weeks after its release. The only difference between the two is that the valentines edition has several love themed items available compared to the original release.

Conclusion:

If you like the more traditional dash time management games this is for you. The levels get successively harder as you progress. Ideal for those who like a challenge. The first level includes a tutorial for newcomers to the genre as well as a reminder to those who haven't layed the game in a while. Ideal for confident beginners and experts alike.

I do quite like your comment to be the first one, but it is really no big deal. Those of us who are quite fond of you and your comments on the game are willing and able to quickly scan the comments to find yours.
Don't worry about the position. Most other comments are small. Yours is huge! It is easy to find!
p.s. Don't forget to email me as promised last week.

I found your email on my sticky note the other day and couldn't remember why. (May have mentioned previously that i do have memory problems due to opiate meds and a head injury). Will make a note to actually email you this time. sorry

Hope you'll figure out how to keep your review of the day's game at the top, like you've done since the second day of the 'new version' of this site -- since, as I said, it's one of the high points (and helps establish a friendly and helpful 'atmosphere' to the posts).

Putting the troubleshooting tips and comments on other games as a link (to a semi-permanent text, which probably wouldn't change frequently) may be a good alternative; let's see how most people react to that.

Will get around to answering questions in about an hour. Been otherwise engaged for most of the day, so do apologize for the lack of moderation. Sorted the problem with my review not remaining on top. I would like the communities opinion on the changes I've made to my review. As yet they may not be permanent. :)

I'm really sorry to see the full review has disappeared. Why make people navigate elsewhere to find the information they actually need before they can download? Just because some people can't be bothered to scroll past? Thanks guys - way to make things more difficult for the rest of us with your whining.

It's not necessarily a permanent thing. Seeing how the community reacts to the changes then will decide whether to keep the original format.

Ever since the new format was put up, I have been unable to install any of the games. They will download and I can unzip them, but when I try to install, the validation window comes up and stays there for about a minute, then disappears and the installation window never appears.

I would like to leave feedback on a previous game, but cannot find it in the new format. I usually need a week or so to get a good feel for the game and used to be able to still leave comment.

Had really hoped that this was just a nightmare - don't use facebook, email address was hacked by someone in Africa so don't even have access to what was an email address going back to the start of the graphical interface (no, not the "start of the internet", it was around for decades before)
Sad that all internet companies thing they have to follow the leader when it comes to making their mark - really just a copycat and nobody likes those.

Now, deleting a bookmark that was first on my list - so sad...

GOTD website is very different than previous. Takes time to get use to but I like the vibrant look and the links tab. Initially I thought providing my email address was an invite to junk mail but to my surprise, I only receive a link for the software. Way to go GOTD, can't please everybody.

Hi, I supplied my e-mail (same as I use to comment here), as much as it pains me(!!) to get the link this way. Let it be one and only time, because if it doesn't stick and GGOTD 'forgets' it in near future and asks again - I doubt very much I'll comply. I echo all that's been expressed about format we used until last Saturday and loved. Not only us, but making WR's job easier, instead of having to jump through hoops to deliver something more convenient and acceptable for the whole Community, not only those who welcome changes and find new format 'cool'..(they might and may, depending where they view new page layout and prefer playing Games!?) In essence, at this point in time - we still rally here round Whiterabbit against all the odds.

I will play Today's Game when I need a break from more serious Game 'brainers', or indeed a break from usual day's chores. Looks cheerful, happy, and this Sunday - also topical. I wish Everyone here a Very Happy Valentine's Day!! Many thanks for this Gift.

Ps. Was so, so desperately sad earlier today about young UK Band 'Viola beach' on the verge of success.., how tragic:(( For anyone wanting to find more, here is link to that headline: http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/final-pictures-of-viola-beach-as-pal-reveals-bands-last-hours-before-crash-that-killed-four-and-manager/ar-BBpueyN?ocid=mailsignout

I've followed this site and the GiveAwayOfTheDay since the beginning. I've downloaded many games over the years and those free games have led to me buying other games from the same company. I'll still follow this site, however this new layout is not easy. New is not always better and in this case I think you have made a mistake. :-(

Like others not my kinda game especially if relax is key. Adult life is too much of a hassle to add this style to it. Thanks for any offer though since some may dig this.
Am glad for the Comments link at top that drops you into this part. Review and White Rabbit coverage does appear to be way at bottom? Gets me bit confused but did find it and reading that helps a lot with breaking a tie as to whether to bother or not.

This is not my kind of game -- the rush rush rush gets me wound up instead of relaxing -- but I wanted to say I think your plan to split off some parts of you previous post to a subsidiary area is a great idea. People who have a problem can find it there easily enough, the rest won't have to skim past it. Ditto for those looking for more games vs. the others. It's not a big deal to have to look for your comment later on (it's likely to be fairly near one end or the other) but I bet you'll find there's some way to make your post 'sticky.'

Neither yesterday nor today did either of the download links have the Post To Facebook or Send Code To Email links. It was a direct download both days. So for those that are whining about the new format and page, calm down.

"I'm disgusted with this new policy", "Shame to ruin what was a good site", "anything that tries to force me to use Facebook is not appreciated" ... really? I don't work for or with these folks but I understand how websites work. It's a free site and they have to make money. They don't get paid by Big Fish Games to give you these games, nor do they make money from ads because there are none. They pay for bandwidth, servers and folks to run both and update these pages with free games for you whiners to tell them they're not good enough. 1)Their new "policy" is to ask you to share on FB so others may see the free game and join, spreading the word and adding the possible money generated for the site OR you get an email from your trusted free game site. Sounds just horrible *insert sarcasm* 2)The site is what the site was, a free game site. Things change. This format is popular across many other websites as a type of Joomla that allows easier access to formats, layouts, etc for the guys running it. White backgrounds, technically, are easier for most people to view and by looking more professional perhaps they hope to gain more people on the page. 3)No one, seriously, NO ONE cares if you use or don't use facebook. They give you options and all you have to do is have a code emailed to you. If you go purchase a photo program online via amazon or other sites they allow you to download the program and email you the code. This is no different.

Don't see change and attack those who had no actual control over it. The change is made so deal with it. Download the free game or don't, but using every comment section every weekend to attack the site that gives you free things is ridiculous and helps no one.

I apologize for going on and on but it gets old. I am one of the people who enjoy coming to the site to see what is new. I stuck around when only one or zero games were put out on the weekends, though I hardly commented. To see in the last few weeks the nonsensical attack on those that run the site infuriates me. It's like calling your cable company and yelling at the girl/guy about what idiots they are that you notice 2 extra commercials in between your shows resulting in less show time.

This post is nothing about the game today. I don't play the TM flower or diner games because they're just not my thing. I'm not offended they chose a game I don't play and I wouldn't attack the site about it or whine. I say "not my thing" and move on. If you don't like the layout, the download or sharing, just say "not my thing" and move on.

Whiterabbit : I really appreciate all you do on here. I'm sure it's equally maddening to work so hard on the site, have a huge change and have to deal with grown ups behaving like Dudley Dursley ("But last year, last year I had 37!"). I don't know what to do about placing your comment back at the top buy on my screen the ones at the top had a tan background only on your comment and no others. If you can ctrl+f that color code in the main code you may be able to find it and see what it does differently from today's comment. I really don't know. Thank you for all the work you put in on the site. I like the shortened comment and the link to the forums being in the first paragraph to lead the way. The forum link does still have yesterday's game though. I've not read much further this morning as I started this long winded comment, so I'll go check it out. :)

New download protocol w/ Facebook (or tedious Email link) is very annoying. If GGOTD is good (and I thought it was), they shouldn't have to bribe people to giving them a Facebook like. I am disgusted with this new policy.

I agree wholeheartedly. I detest Facebook and would never go near it. There are now even websites where you CAN'T comment unless you have FB. What the hey? What about the rest of us? And why should we be forced to go through an email link to get the game when a direct download button could easily be provided? I don't get it. If it were any other site, I'd have left and not come back after seeing that first GIMME LIKES begging screen.

Whiterabbit, as mentioned by another poster, it is easy to find your posts, so pinning them isn't critical, it's more of an issue of convenience. Being unable to see the moderators screen, there is no way for us to know if there is something that would enable the ability to pin it to the top, but I suspect that there was another change made that prevents you from doing this.
I have never had any issues with the breadth or scope of your reviews, I always thought it was magnanimous of you to put so much effort into them, especially for an unpaid position. If there was anything in your reviews that I wasn't interested in, I found it easy to skip through it, so those who complain are just doing it to be heard.
Once again, I want to thank you for your immense efforts here and for making it easy to decide whether to download a game, based on my personal preferences and your reviews.

I think you have misunderstood the essence of my message - it is only the instruction in the Readme.txt that hadn't been amended (at least when I downloaded earlier today) to advise that the game can be started by running 'Bloom.exe' from the installation folder - there is nothing wrong with the folder or the game files, so these should not be altered.

I change the folder on almost every single download. The games are always installed as "Portable" so they must be deleted, not Uninstalled. Put them in a unique folder that can be easily found.
ps. Most come without shortcuts, too.

Ermmm... this is an off-topic question for this actual game giveaway page, but as I was waiting for 'Bloom' to download, I moseyed over to the 'OMG. I Can Meditate!' Android giveaway over to the right of the screen, and clicked on to see what it's all about.

As it states quite clearly in bold 'OMG! I Can Meditate comes with a 1 month Premium Membership code worth $12.99 for FREE.' I thought I'd post a comment asking if that also applied to today's giveaway version (in which case the version today is really no more than a trial & hook version for a monthly subscription), but there's no possiblilty to comment, just an e-mail address to the publisher, meaning there is no chance of anonimity should you wish to make a query. The 4½ star rating proclaimed to be given by 40 users is also not accessible. Anyone here know anything about it?

I'm one of the few community members here who doesn't own a mobile phone, so never bother to even check that section of the giveaway, so I can't be of any help. sorry.

Most of the Android and Iphone giveaways are free. I would not download an app that requires a monthly fee. I own both Android and IOS products.
