Its 2018 now and Im looking for this game everywhere the full version a pirated full version that is. I would buy it direct from the site which it was made from but this game is very old now and I don't know what the original website status is these days, as Im not prepared to risk losing any money thru credit or pay pal. I remember playing this in 2005 and Its a great game lots of fun and amazing graphics good classic shoot em up action and certainly worth the money. If one were to shell it out back then forsure they would have given the licence key for a full version, not sure of the status of their web page though if they are still taking orders for this. Im also aware that Star Blaze 2 is out and also been for sometime now, it did come out at the time when I had no internet so I never knew they made a second one only untill now. Quite amazing actually I always liked this game alot and they manage to pull a sequel when I never expected it. I had the full version a long time ago on my WindowsXP computer that was lost due to the fact one day the computer would not start up. Sorry for reviving a really old thread of almost 12 years ago but I just had to write this in confidence that maybe someone else like me looking for this will read and hopefully direct me into the right path.
Please giveawayoftheday.com Request: if you happen to read this I'm just asking if you can make an old man happy one more time and make me young again and find it in your heart to talk to the people that have Star Blaze still active on their web page and strike a deal to make it a giveaway one of these days just one more time PLEASE?

Torbram Bus Number 14,
I've just read my old mini review of this game. I said in my first reply to you that most game giveaways remained registered even if you move them to a different computer, however, after reading my review below, I doubt this will be the case with this game due to the following which I've copied from the review I wrote 11 years ago:
Because there was a separate activation module, it means that a registration code was written to the registry. Copying the game over to a different computer without creating a copy of the registry entry would mean the backup is unlikely to be registered unless I did create an executable registry file, (which I often did if I could find the entry in the registry), but until I find the files I can't say I did. :)

Good old school game with great graphics and controls, highly recommended.

Not a bad side-scrolling shooter. Ship customization is always welcome and there is a healthy selection of enemies and weapons. However, there doesn´t appear to be any gamepad support! What a crazy ommision for a shooter!

Really enjoyed this game. Unfortunately, it is essentially just a demo version. After beating the boss in the 6th level, the game ends, and you can't play further levels or episodes. (At least I couldn't.) I would expect these giveaways to include the whole game, not just a few levels.

A mostly well done retro game. As others have said, a Gradius/R-Type clone. Graphics are great, but the sound is a little clunky.
When run, it does try to phone home to somewhere. Probably not an issue, but I don't like it when programs do it without asking.

David Comment #31, try downloading the file again; using the mirror link. Close down any programs you are working on while the download is in progress. This shouldn't be necessary, but just in case there is any conflict, I'd try that as well.
I hope you get it working. :)Contact me via Whiterabbit-uk at hotmail dot co dot uk if you still have problems, preferably before the giveaway ends. I stay up very late, so there’s plenty of time yet.
By the way why is it boring hj1? Boring is hardly constructive is it????
Abcd comment #12 have you got a video card installed on your computer? If your motherboard is more than a few years old, unless you paid $$$$ for it it’s not likely to have any more than about 8 to 16 Mb of emulation; most shop bought computers, unless they’re advertised as gaming PC’s, will only rely upon motherboard graphic emulation, which is nowhere near the standard of even the cheapest of graphics cards these days. Most recent motherboard emulators should cope with all arcade games though, with motherboard onboard graphic emulators up to 64Mb.
I’ve only recently dumped several old graphics cards simply because they were less than 128Mb. (I possibly have 1 ATI spare going free (ATI 9200 128Mb AGP0 and an old PCI one that is only 64Mb (kept as a back up for an old computer, but again anyone can have it) both are a few years old now, but both are definitely okay for any arcade game, but wont support most big games released over the last year. (It’s only got pixel shader 2.0 which is old stuff now.) Let me know via the email above. It’ll only cost me a few dollars, so don’t worry about the cost of posting it. :)

Well made technically; fluid and no problems.
It lacks a bit in the design though:
The background is too bright and it's hard to distinguish between enemies, shots and background. Remedy that and the game is a winner.

The enemies are varied, and the small-scale difficulty adjustment available is great, anyone will find their skills matched! (Chuck, visit the options menu) I love the way some of the bosses mix'n'match their many attack patterns based on where you are and some degree of randomness. The ship will continue after you have released the button (or stopped moving the mouse), but the ship has inertia so it's acceptable (probably intentional too) as opposed to yesterday's offering.
While this is not in the league of the extremely polished R-type final, it is a good game, and in the league of Jets'n'Guns, which has been an earlier giveaway and was mentioned in another comment. I think I prefer Jets'n'Guns because it has a longer progression; in Star Blaze you "start over" for each of the episodes.
I think this is worth the asking price, though it's not the top dog. Thumbs up!

This is an excellent repeat from February this year. In fact this is one of the games that made me realize that there was much more to arcade games than arkanoids :) thanks to the giveaway project.
It received 93% of over 240 votes so has got to be worth the download without saying anything else, lol. Check out the comments from February by following the link below:
http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/star-blaze/#comments
Although, apart from the comments by Aguyfromtrinidad comment #17 and Jorge comment #21 there isn’t many other comments that are to the point.
Today’s game when unzipped comes with a separate activate program, so for those new to this site, ensure you click on activate first. This will load the activation module into the registry so that when you install the game via the set up file (executable), the game will be fully registered. I usually click on the activate module after installation just to be sure, but I’m sure this isn’t necessary. If you still have problems getting the full version, just post on these comments section as despite the few who are sarcastic, there are always more willing to offer you advice.
There’s a decent options menu that allows some control over the game parameters and you can play either using the mouse or key board, although if you want to play the two player game, which is a great addition to this game, you’ll have to fight over who uses the mouse.
The graphics are colorful and excellent; just what you’d expect from a space shooter. It’s a side scrolling shooter, which I personally prefer (don’t know why because most vertical scrolling ones are just as cool)
You start the game in a shop where initially you are limited to purchasing the cheapest ship, which has the potential for lots of upgrades. See image link below for the upgrades possible. Throughout the game whenever you destroy an object you are rewarded with crystals, which must be collected by running over them for them to accumulate in your bank. At the end of a level you can then upgrade your ship or weapon systems, although you can also catch upgrades during the game as well, which IMO makes for a much more interesting game.
If you have no space shooters, this is a worthy addition to your games library. If you do have some, I’d still say it’s a worthwhile download. It’s definitely a keeper for me. I do have it still on the machine I retired a while back, (which was kept, simply because it had too many decent giveaway games on it.) Which, as I mentioned yesterday is pulled out during the weekend for the kids to replay some of the past giveaways if they are that way inclined, now that the cold weather is rearing it’s ugly head.
Please follow the link for the few screenshots I’ve taken. I couldn’t minimize the game, except by using the task manager, although it can be windowed for those who like that mode, so decided against my usual 20 or so images.

The graphics are obviously not your latest cutting edge stuff, but the game play is definitely one of the better of this genre. There are loads of enemy ships (80) to keep you occupied and the power ups are great. I could cite loads of examples of this genre to compare with, but all I’ll do is suggest you take a look at a recent space shooter release called Demon Star Classic, which hasn’t been given away here and if you find it a worthwhile purchase you can add some booster packs to keep you happy. :)
http://www.mking.com/demonstar/index.html
I’ve only just bought it and am impressed although it’s not my favorite yet.
As for today’s giveaway, unfortunately I haven’t the time to give it a longer test run as I have some computer repairs that are still outstanding. I haven’t checked to see if it works on my Vista enabled computer yet as I’m doing more upgrading, also I haven’t checked to see whether there are end of level bosses, which you usually find in this sort of game. I’m sure someone else will fill you folks in on that score, or just check the internet for commentaries on the game. I’ve played so many of these games since Star Blaze was given away last time that I can’t remember much about the game play apart from the weapons shop, which is a nice touch IMO, but I would probably guess that there is bosses as you usually you do get bosses in this genre of game. :D.
I give this game 7 out of 10 for playability. It has pleasant graphics (although the screenshots I took don’t really do it justice as the stationary images make it look much more blocky than it is when animated) and despite being short on levels (24)) it has lots of game play.
Hey Sandy comment #75 from Wednesdays giveaway, I’ll gladly give you some of the games I don’t play any more ;) but wont pay you for your own purchases, even if it was my push, lol; just check back for my Email, I posted it a few weeks or so ago :)….really. :)
Thank you Gladiators Software and the Game Giveaway team for a wonderful repeat.

A big thumbs up for this great side-scrolling space shooter. Early indications are it's not quite as good as "Jets 'n' Guns", the incredible game given away here in May, but anything even in the same ballpark is worthy. Biggest problems may be the not-so-user-friendly interface and comparatively limited weapons. In "Jets 'n' Guns", the menus were so well designed they became almost second nature, and the weapons could be upgraded to an extent that the screen was filled with mayhem. In "Star Blaze", the vital menu screens - where one must decide what to buy between games, and so forth - are a bit unintuitive, and it appears the weapons can only be exchanged for others, not empowered.
But those are minor complaints. The graphics are vibrant and detailed, the sound is OK, and, most important of all, the action is swift and addictive. Amazingly, the game consumes less than 22MB.

Good game! Good graphics! Wish game play were more difficult. Went through 5 levels already, and only 19 levels left. I hope game play gets incrementally more difficult! Almost too easy. It locked up one time, but it was one of my video card settings the game didnt like (WinXP). I dont know if it will work on my Vista machine or not. Will check back and see if anyone else installs on Vista. Eek, it is 1:30, way past bedtime.

ASTOUNDING.
For a free game giveaway, the graphics are absolutely brilliant. All of the polish, such as the menu transitions and the particle effects, really add up to make this game look really, really nice.
Music and sound fx are also great. The technosoundtrack fits this game perfectly, and there are so many full sounding fx, it is just a treat to listen to.
Gameplay. So. Many. Things. To. Do. The enemy variance is huge, buy a heap of different weapons, engines, and whole heap of other stuff to add to your ship. Controls are completely intuitive as you use your mouse to move the ship.
Options. So. Many. Things. To. Change. You can change the difficulty settings to within a hundredth for several things (eg. enemy damage), can customise controls, change the brightness/contrast/colour depth, several save slots, single player/two player, and more.
An ingame help guide is available as well.
I didn't download yesterday's game because of the file size, and I'm glad I didn't after looking at the comments. But I am VERY happy I downloaded this one.
