Beach Cafe Master Chef
In Brief
A colourful Time Management game.

The Game
There are two modes a career mode that is divided into 24 levels. The free play is a continuous single level. As with most TM games you have to c0mplete activities within a certain time to get the most credit. If you leave it or take too long in serving a customer they become unhappy.

There are some simple improvements that you can purchase from the café shop for example a seat costing $100 brings more comfort to your customers, so they don't become unhappy as quickly, a jukebox costing $200 plays music that further improves the mood of your customer's and decorating the café with flowers gains you more tips from your customers.

In the career mode you start the game with $750 whereas in free play you get $10000 to start.

Game play is quite fast from the outset, so ensure you spend some of your start up cash on improving the mood of your customers. If you get an order wrong, the customer will leave immediately with no tip. If you make a mistake you can dump it into the bin.

Basically a typical TM game on the lines of shop serving customers under pressure. It plays okay, but the music becomes really tiresome after a time. There's no way in game that you can adjust the volume, so to get rid of it open up your volume mixer via the speaker icon next to your system clock in the task bar. If you enjoy playing TM games, then this is worth downloading. The only issue if you are playing in full screen is to close the game down you have to Alt Tab to drop the game down to the task bar, then close it by hovering your mouse over the task bar icon and clicking on the X that appears in the top right of the thumbnail. If you choose to play in windowed mode (selected when you first start the game, you can close the game down via the X in the top right corner of the game window. This was released yesterday by BD Games.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found zero hits from 59 antimalware engines. The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser 'once' to Falcowares home page after the game has installed, but does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcowares home page it earns them some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Other Free Games:
The latest game from Epic Games is now live and is called Among Us which you'll find link to be added. It ends June 3rd at 4pm (UK time/11am EST) where it will be replaced by a mystery game. Also from Epic there are several other free to play games available; for example, If you play online with friends there's a decent PvE/PvP free FPS game called Scavengers and you can still get the clicker RPG Idle Champions as well as other multiplayer games. With respect to Idle Champions, I've been posting redeemable codes (time limited for 5 to 7 days from the day of posting) for free game chests over in the forums HERE. They contain various items that boost your heroes abilities and health as well as affect your group of heroes in game; for example potions that boost health or DPS, contracts that can improve armour or weapons already used by the heroes or other contracts that add amounts of gold that would normally take a specific time to earn if you were offline, as well as items of jewellery, armour or weapons that buff your characters stats. I don't usually play clicker type games, but this one I've been enjoying for the past few weeks and is well supported by the developer and has a massive following. I'll be posting codes for the redeemable chests for as long as I continue to play the game. I've posted some help sheets and links to a game wiki via the above link as well.

Steam have ten pages of free games that total 136 free games (at the last count). Steam including many free to play MMO's that may include extra content that you have pay for, but are not necessary to play the game (these are often called pay to win type freebies, but that's not always the case); however there are also plenty of free game that do not require in game or DLC purchases and have single player modes included. You'll find all those HERE. Steam also feature the occasional commercial game where the developer is giving away the game for a limited time period (as in Company of Heroes 2).

Please see Delenns threads for those games and other non Steam freebies (GOG, uPlay, Origin etc) HERE and HERE. It’s worth adding these to your browsers favorites and checking regularly to see if there are any new games added. They tend to be time limited so you need to grab them before the free period has ended. If you miss the deadline you may have missed out on something you'd have loved. Once added to your account, these temporary freebies are yours to keep. Delenn has recently posted details of more Indie Gala and Steam games that are temporarily free; e.g. Tower Ball - Incremental Tower Defense plus a reflex game called Keyboard Killers and Little Nightmares (thanks for the heads up Delenn) via Steam and JASEM, Chronology , Lawless Lands and Lightstrike via Indie Gala.

You'll find hundreds of freeware games of all arcade and indie genres on Itch.io and Caimans Games as well as other sources. Please do check out the game discussion forums for older posts HERE; (the sticky section is useful). Many of the earlier posts may be out of date with respect to the links I and others have provided to the free games; however, you only need to know the name of the game to find most of them via other sources. Many of those games from 2008 to around 2017 were posted as part of a project to supplement the lack of weekday games when the game giveaway went to weekend only games around Easter 2008 (mainly instigated due to the financial crisis of 2008) until November 2018 when Falcoware stepped into the weekday slot; however, from around 2015 onwards we did start to get the occasional Steam key for various games offered as limited giveaways, with a restriction on the number of keys available (anywhere from 25 to 2000+). These included over 60 decent AAA games and indie arcade games ; for example some of the better AAA games included , lucky Warhammer: Vermintide 1 & 2 plus DLC for version 2; Dreadlands, Mount & Blade: Warband, Immortal Unchained and Conan Exiles.

Indie Gala have added quite a few more free games since I last posted details of Indie Gala freebies regularily last year. Some of those games are definitely worth downloading. You can find the latest freebies HERE and Indie gala's showcase list, which includes all the freebies still current; (many of which have been included for a couple of years now) HERE.

It’s worth adding these links to your favorites and checking regularly for available freebies. Most are only free for a specific time. If you miss the deadline you’ll miss out. Once added to your account, they are yours to keep. :)

I had problems with installation. It said: Unable to execute file, Create process fail Code 216. This version %1 is not compatible with the version of windows your running. Check your computers system info and contact software publisher. I wrote a note to falco. This has never happened to me before with your downloader on any other program.

These games are super fun - giving people food! - but usually way too hard for me. I'm slow, XD. Nice looking graphics. I'll check our Whiterabbit's review as usual, but likely giving this a miss.

Thanks so much GOTD for this offer. My personal concession to clicking away is Book of Dungeons, and I used to play that for 15 minutes at a time.

Dana, Eh. Book of Demons. I'm clumsy even in typing, lol

Dana,

Hi Dana, I didn't get around to playing the game until very late afternoon (was really busy), so my review was rushed (partly due to having two games to review).

''Just some Info'' posted a short review about the game play, which basically tells you all you really need to know. As for ''Book of Demons'', Steam has a demo available. I don't know how much game play is included with the demo as I have the game already on Steam.

The developers posted a roadmap of further developments with 'Book of Demons''. Sometime this year they will be releasing a spin off that was originally supposed to have been an extra mode called Hellcard and in 2022 a sequel to 'Book of Demons'' called ''Book of Aliens'' (a homage to UFO: Enemy Unknown).

Whiterabbit-uk, A spinoff? Interesting. To date, my bestie was playing it more than me, in my Steam Account.

This game is not what you think no way to get out of it and free play you still get pressuer as customers walk away.

Plus you get 4 more icons on your desk top which you should not. I thought no advertising was involved but with the other links on it is advertising. VERY WRONG AND A LIE. d MINUS.

I played this game for a few minutes:

Installation - you have to tell Windows to allow you to install it.
It installs all the Falco icons all over the place.

The game worked well enough. There were no instructions but basically you have to drag the stuff in order to the plate in front of you. Drag the patty to the hot plate and wait for it to cook. Drag the coffee cup to the coffee machine. Once everything is ready drag it to the customer.

It's a lot of dragging.

On level 2 I played around seeing if things had to be in order on the burger etc. And well if you give the customer a wrong order they walk out - which means you fail the round as it doesn't give enough time allowance for it.

I didn't replay the level because I was already bored with it - there was nothing to keep me engaged and I didn't like all the dragging. But that's a personal preference. There were shop upgrades you could get with the coins you earn.

You cannot turn the music or sound off - you have to use Music mixer in Windows.

I couldn't find a way to quit the game - except through going to Windows and closing the tab that way.

T.,

Hi T,

You're almost certainly getting a false positive. I carried out a security scan and 59 virus suites detected zero hit. Please see my security notes below (I usually post this at the end of my reviews, but I've not had time to review todays games yet.
