Win one of the 200 itch.io keys for Battle Bash!

Battle Bash is a retro styled arcade game for 2-4 players. You play as tanks, and fight each other in 3 different game modes in fast paced gameplay. Inspired by many game legends of the 80s, you must defeat your opponents with a single bouncy ball. Featuring chiptune music, retro graphics, and an authentic console feel, Battle Bash feels more like a console game than a computer game.

Battle Bash

In Brief:

This game is limited to 200 licences and will be downloaded via Itch.io if you are lucky enough to win a licence. Judging by the number of takes in previous games, if you manage to get all of the hoops completed you stand a very good chance of winning a code.

Introduction

Battle Bash is a half twin-stick shooter, half pong, half tanks/combat Battle Bash is a 2-4 player party type game designed to be played with 4 360 controllers(or any xinput gamepad). One player may use keyboard/mouse if you only have one controller.

Loosely based on the Combat atari 2600 game, four tanks battle for supremacy. There is a major issue, you have but one bouncy missile to launch. You must hit the enemy, or go retrieve your shell in order to shoot again. Boards have hazards, bounce walls, portals, power-ups, and more to shake things up.

I've posted more games over in the game discussion forums (the total value of all of the games I'm giving away are approx £1000/$1500) as part of my giveaways, which are not associated with the gamegiveawayoftheday. You can win one or even two keys either Steam or Desura keys if you give some useful feedback about today's game. The Desura keys may have DRM free downloads available, but you will still need to initially install the Desura client to access the download. Once downloaded you can then remove Desura from your computer if you wish.

I still owe several community members keys for their comments last week and will be sending those out for sure this weekend. I apologize for the lateness. Things went pear shaped and it's taken me until today to sort of the keys again. I've sent a few out already (to Granny and Whizzy), and will be sending out the rest this weekend. Once you receive your keys, please email me back to let me know you've activated the games okay. Also if you have any problems.

The reasons I'm so late in posting those keys is that I somehow deleted the document that I'd prepared with all of the Steam codes recorded. Then things got a little too busy for me during the week to re-find the codes from the original documents. I have now managed to find most of the codes (stayed up all night to finish off), but some are still missing, so I've temporarily removed several games from the original list and added another 20 games to the list. To those community members who are interested in getting one or two game keys but didn't revisit the game giveaway later in the day last week, I posted a second list of over 120 Desura games.

There are a couple of free games (apart from the ones already posted over in the weekly roundUp of Games thread over in the forums, which you can find HERE), that you may be interested in called Simutrans a open source transportation simulation directly from Steam and Airstrike HD a side scrolling shooter, which you can get (until Monday 8am UTC/GMT) via SharewareOnSale HERE. Unfortunately if you are Steamophobic, both games are Steam games. You don't need an activation code for Simutrans, just type it in the search field when in Steam and click on play to install the game. It also comes with four free dlc's. Airstrike HD does need a key, which you will get from SharewareOnSale. Just follow the link I've provided above.

won a copy so tyvm but please make sure to mention if a game has a mandatory account creation next time, I never heard of itcio before and trusted it because of the trust I have in GGOTD, now I find I have to make an account. Not such a big problem in itself but with all the steam/originofoben around here not mentioning it will only increase the complain posts

Happy with my game and personally happy it is something I can always reinstall when so desired

I have around 300 codes for games on Itch.io, I've never got around to redeeming them becasue of the need to install yet another client. I'm hoping that they do something similar to Desura, with respect to DRM free downloads and in some cases Steam keys. That said, the main reason I've not redeemed the keys is that I already have many of the games on Steam and/or Desura.

As yet I've not won one game since the game giveaway started doing this, even though I have entered every one of them. looking over the winners i have noticed several that have won previously. With the number of entries divided by the number each person could enter; if everyone completed all of the tasks, there would only have been a few community members not getting keys.

At least I won the last application. :)

It reminds me of the old Coleco Combat console game, but of course with better graphics. That game had tank grips to control the movement the same way one would control a tank.

I discovered to day that the Internet Archive has a lot of classic games:

I been lucky to win afew giveaways here in the past week, I wonder how much longer it would keep going for :)

I've entered every competition on both the game giveaway and the giveaway site and so far haven't won a sausage.

@Moderator :( That's really sad to be honest. I come out from nowhere (i left several years ago) and I just enter and pick up games and software.

...................Moderator Comment........................

Cest La Vie. Apart from the very first game comp (Amigdala) I've had every game already and I got Amigdala via one of the indie Bundles shortly after the game giveaway fiasco. I'm only entering on the off chance I do win a key, then it'll be recycled back to the community. As for the giveaway programs that I've entered; to be honest, none of them have been earth shatteringly useful. I've purchased just about every program I need apart from a very expensive Astronomy program that I want for my equatorial mount for my reflector telescope.

@Moderator I did think about recycling some of the keys back into the community (like get some more traffic into my site) but I didn't really think that it was the right thing to do or if it even legal.

...................Moderator Comment........................

Hi Daniel, I don't see anything illegal in recycling the key to someone else. if you've won the key you should be able to do what you like with it. :)

Daniel, I believe it's only illegal if you try to recharge or charge for game ($.$$).
