Arena Battle was available as a giveaway on January 23, 2023!
The arena is not a place for the weak. In this game, you have to win in the arenas by placing your warriors. The soldiers fight themselves, your task is to correctly place the soldiers in the arena. Choose wisely who will fight. Some units attack from afar but have low health, some fight up close but are vulnerable to exploding units. Some slow down enemies, and some can take many attacks before dying. Forward to victory General!

The games seems to run fine for the first time after the installation program starts the game but if I exit the program and then try to restart it, I see a rectangle box briefly and then it closes and the opens a web page tab for the toomkygames web site. If I re-install, it does the same thing.

Chet Morton, Sorry folks. The game I was having trouble with was Goblin Defenders an earlier give away. I fixed it with messing around with the compatibility settings in Windows 10 shortcut.

Chet Morton,
Glad you got it working. Compatibility mode really helps sometimes. :)

Who doesnt like a good strategy arena battler? Enemy combatants are randomly placed on the battlefield, and using your limited gold you hire soldiers to vanquish them all but do not actually do the fighting, just watch how your strategy played out as the one making decisions. Initially in the first level there are 5 enemies but clicking them gives no information on their abilities, background, or any other info as to why they exist. 10 gold and a choice of a ogre that fights up close (melee) or a wizard that shoots magic from a distance and additional soldier types are added as you progress. The cost for the unit is in the lower left in yellow so for example at 2 cost each you can place 5 of your soldiers in the first level. Clicking these soldier types gives more information such as you will notice the distance fighters have less hit points (health) and so they will need to be out of the way of attack - hence a bit of strategy.
As it stands now, generally the idea of this type of game is always popular with fantasy theme always has alot of potential and retro style graphics or can be done with dinosaurs, robots, mechs etc if the gameplay were to be worked out... and heres where the game needs much work. Since your not actually fighting, watching the battle here is too fast to see whats going on and not that enjoyable due to that and didnt really entice me to want to play later levels. Sounds in the attacks are the same. Enemy pieces of the ogre look identical to your ogre causing confusion as I thought at first my ogres were brought forward from a prior level but your soldiers do not carry forwards to the next level. Need to slow things down so the battle can be enjoyed to watch it play out, add some effects for deaths, attacks, more types of units, perhaps traps.
If you really want to feel like a Roman emperor, judge your fighters based on how bravely they fought. If you think they’re not worthy, open a piston floor below them and drop them in lava - as I'm doing with this game and deleting it but hopefully the next of kin will learn and improve. Rating: D

Today's game is simply place your fighters on the table and hope for the best I suppose :)
One thing you will need to do is pay attention to the play mechanics a bit and understand what things do. When you hover your mouse over the Wizard, etc, it shows you the attacks or land effects it's capable of and also the cost of gold to set it out that is.
You don't have to use all your gold in one turn as the start button is always highlighted, if you hit start before placing fighters on the screen its an immediate game over.
I suppose this can lead to different ways of clearing a level but I'm almost fairly certain that you'll need all the help you can get with your gold. Good luck with Level 3 :)
Because of the simplicity of this game, it's easy for anyone to pickup and play this little gem even if you don't like this genre. It's a coffee break item for sure.
