Hello, today i play the game and find that my game save is disappear.
I think it's because the game is a flash game, it store it's profile in temporary internet folder, when i using ccleaner to clean temporary internet files, my game save was being deleted too.
It took me some time to upgrade all the weapon, now i have to start over the game from the beginning.
The game is fun, but i hate flash game, the way it store its game save.

You could save the games save file from the temp folder whenever you've finished playing the game and then replace it when you want to play again. I know it's a bit of a faf, but it would sort the problem out.

This game is so much fun. Knobber through the roof! I was wacking the spunk out of these other guys with my hardened armor and shaft attachments. 5 out of 5!

Just another spelling comment. In lvl 3, I think, when you talk to the other flying thing that’s on your side, and he’s talking about the new weapon that uses batteries, he says “Batteries charge wont be enought for long, and you need much time to restore the charge.” I noticed that the word wont should be won’t and the word enought should be spelled enough. That’s all I got for now, but thanks for the fun game!
If you can, can you erase my last comment because I didn't put the right information in the quotes, MS Word auto corrected "enought", which is what the robot in the game says, so it’s spelled incorrectly in the game.
Thanks again.

Thanks for your input.
Some of the European developers may have slight problems with full command of the English language, but IMO, the actual game play is more important. hopefully the developer will pick up on the spelling and grammar issues, but if they don't I wouldn't think it was that important, especially as English is probably their second or even third language. (for exmple, if you had to learn Polish as a second language, i doubt you'd get the language correct even after years of trying due to the complex grammar inherent in that language. My brother in law, who has lived in Poland for about 15 years is still struggling to come to terms with the grammar and spelling despite having a 2:1 degree from Oxford and he runs a language translation buisness in Poland - thankfully his wife is Polish). :)
p.s. don't worry about all the multiple posts, at least you are one of the very few who download these games that bothers to comment. I've deleted the ones you asked to be deleted and adjusted your spelling error, lol.

Absolute rubbish.

It would be useful to know why you think the game is rubbish? That way the developer may be able to improve on the game

I'd never gotten around to trying Hammerfight, but if this game's a knock off of it, I might try the demo later.
Anyway, today's giveaway's gameplay is surprisingly fun (and surprisingly comfortable on a touchpad). However, it does take a try or two to get used to it. The upgrade system is pretty good, although sometimes it seems like I'm either underpowered because I can't afford an item... but once I've earned the money, I'm shredding through enemies with nearly no effort.
It seems like I'm going through the levels very quickly, so the game's probably isn't very long. I'd say it's fine for its price though.
Graphics are decent, and I can't rate the sound as I had to mute my laptop.
All in all, it's a fun little game, although a bit repetitive. The only real flaw I've noticed is that the items in the store don't appear when you maximize the screen.
Thanks GGAOTD and Wheemplay!

Thank you for your review; it was much appreciated. I wasn't sure whether the disappearing shop items was a perculiarity of my computer as no one else confirmed the issue apart from you.

Thanks Online Tribute.... playing the Flash version saved me the trouble of downloading and installing.
It's an original concept, but it doesn't have the staying power to hold my interest beyond the first few levels.

That is a strange comment on the gamesite page, didn't someone post something similar on the game comments a few weeks back ? well, the web is a pretty open & diversified place !!!
anyhow, this installed fine on my vista home setup, launched fine & no demons surrounded me to slow my feeble attempts to get into the 'swing of things', yea-pun intended.
Kinda cute actually, will try to stay in the swing a little later when real world duties subside :)

Downloaded and installed fine but after trying to play this game I find it to hard to play so I deleted it. Nice concept but just not an easty game for an old f**rt like me. Thanks anyway.

I like this game. It reminded of mock fights we had as kids in which we 'disarmed' our opponents by swinging over-sized chunks of rotted deadwood at their weapons. What to do? Paintball arenas weren't invented yet.
*Please! DO NOT attempt the dumb stunt I've described. Yeesh*

Haha. :) sounds like a perfect childhood. :) Conkers and wood. :) Definitely reminds me of conkers.

When I opened the home page of the game , there was next writing with big letters : "Buy this game in name of the satan!"
Evil Satan
I'm not believer, but I think sometimes this stuff matters, tomorow is Easter, so this time I won't install this game.

Good Saturday morning every one. This is a fun fighting game. It installs easy and very fast, runs really well on my older HP running xp pro/sp3. Takes a little mouse work to play but very fun and entertaining for every body. thanks GGOTD & Wheemplay ltd, had a few laughs with this game this morning.

This would be a better reference site IMHO. There are screenshots, video and a link to free online version. Besides the current one could be offensive for believers.
This game is quite fun to play on touchpad ;) You make circular movements with your finger. I think it's easier than using a mouse.

Good idea. I didn't have time to explore the site this morning.

I will never attempt to buy another game from this company again as I have had several bad experiences with them:
First game I bought I never got the download link after I bought it; finally got it after I clicked on the complaint link on the company who does the charging for them (Plimus). Made the mistake of trying to purchase a second game and never did get an executable of the game (just a temporary link to the "swf" file, which would be gone after I left the purchase page), even after complaining (although I must admit I did get a refund then). I'm finished with them. Very unprofessional company IMO. And I agree with comment 10, "Buy this game in name of the satan!" is a ridiculous comment from the company who made this game. Come on, can't you do a better comment than that?
My 2 cents...

When I downloaded this I got an invalid folder message from both the download and the mirror link. Couldn't get past the download to even try this game.

Try rebooting your modem and/or your router. If that fails clear out the game giveaway cookies from your temporary internet folder. That should sort the problem out (hopefully).

Downloaded and install successfully on windows XP pro 32.
The game is quite interesting, have weapon to upgrade, but the armor to upgrade is too little, i can't beat the level which has to fight the doubleknight boss plus the teacher, it needs skills to win the game. And the game speeds always slows down, my computer is a dual core 2.0ghz and mhd4500 grachic card, is it too old for this game to work flawlessly?

The "reference" site given in post #1 has a rather odd, and slightly disturbing, testimonial:
"Buy this game in name of the satan!" -- Evil Satan
Seriously? They considered this worth headlining on their store page? It doesn't help that the rest of the page is a clear example of bad grammar; I'm somewhat surprised that it isn't a black background with blinking, neon-green text.
I would be more inclined to try Hammerfight's demo than this.
............................Moderator Comment..............................
Hammerfight has very similar physics to this game, but is a much more polished game. Well worth purchasing if you find todays game giveaway remotely playable. The demo is okay, but you won't get as much game play.
I look forwards to seeing your site up and running sometime in the future. I love R.P.G. games. I used to play D & D with a few friends every weekend back in the late 70's. we'd start on a Saturday evening and play right through till late Sunday afternoon, with just a few meal breaks. We were so into the game we'd take turns at designing dungeons and playing the dungeon master. Great memories. I used to make props such as potions that used to comprise of various sweets or sour things. Sweet ones would be good potions, sour bad ones. lol. I also spent days drawing pictures of each dungeon, room, corridor, cavern and the various items of equipment that I hid in many of the rooms. etc. The last dungeon I created took me over 4 months to design. I created a light box so that you could use chinagraph pencils to mark various things on the maps that would glow brightly. That way we could play with the main lights turned out and get a good atmosphere. Playing such games on a computer isn't the same, but still an excellent experience. :)

Have tried the site from #7 and if it's the same game, it's defintiely not for me, sent me far to dizzy. Would hesitate in recommending this to anyone who suffers from epiplepsy as I know from past experience that it can cause them problems. Thanks for the opportunity, but thumbs down from me.

I like the idea of the game, but I don't like the way you have to control the character, in fact I found it nigh on impossible and I gave up on level 3. Maybe it's my age. :D
...................Moderator Comment.....................
It is hard initially. you just need to practice swinging the hammer. That aid as mentioned above, it can start to cause problems with your writ due to an unfamiliar repetitive movement. :)

Nice concept but...
1)Can play online for free anyway, just do a google search for Arcanorum
2)Very cpu intensive and slows down quite a bit randomly
3)"swinging" the mouse outside of the window doesn't register... Unfortinately this makes the game somewhat unplayable.
............................Moderator comment...........................
Some community members prefer to have a downloadable version of a game. I for one don't like playing browser games (except for facebook games and only then because you can play with other users, lol). I much prefer having the game in a folder on my computer. (There's always the times when the internet connection is down, then having such a game means I can still play it). with respect to your second point, It really depends upon how fast your cpu is. I have no problems playing the game. no slow downs or stutters, (played it on a dual core 3.2GHz and a dual core 3.0GHz computer so far with no problems) . To cure your third point just click on the maximise button to change the window into full screen, then you can't go 'out of bounds'.

I've downloaded the game and played it just to make sure that its the same game I've played on a flash games site. Yes you heard it right another flash game. It's a pretty nice game but its actually a bad copy of a game called Hammerfight. You might have fun with this but it wont give you the fun Hammerfight gives.I think this game is designed for touchscreen phones and tablet pc because the ship(?) moves when you move it towards the edge of the screen rather than giving full control to your mouse. I hope you understood what i said :P And even when you resize the window to fit your screen your mouse cursor stays on the screen annoying you while playing. If you want to spend some extra time its ok but the original game is much better.

dowloaded and installed easely on Windows Vista 32b, installs in C:\games one file named Arcanorum of 9537kb and no registrie entries.
Little tricky to get the swing with the mouse but fun game to destroy some time while playing.
Thanks for the fun game

Installation:
The game downloads to a 9.71Mb zip file that unpacks to a dual activation and set up module and a read me document that states the terms and conditions of the game giveaway.
The game installs to C:\Games by default, but you can change the installation path during the installation wizard. As with all Wheemplay games the executable installs directly to the games folder as opposed to installing via a folder. There are no shortcuts installed and no uninstaller. If you want to delete the game just delete the executable found at the above path.
Introduction:
This game looks like a direct rip off of Hammerfight, which was released a couple of years ago. I posted a demo link in the forums during it’s beta phase. You can check that game out via the following link (demo link available on the home page):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/41100/?snr=1_7_suggest__13
Reference http://wheemplay.com/games/arcanorum/ accessed 22nd april 2011
The Game:
We have things planned for the day so rather than write up a long winded review like I usually do I’m just going to list the main points about the game that I’ve found so far.
• You can upgrade your ship and weapons via the shop. There are 10 different ship and 26 eapons to purchase, though most are locked at the beginning of the game. As you progress through the levels you will unlock more ships and weapons.
• The first level is a tutorial which walks you through the various stages
• Each level is introduced by a short story with a title, for example Chapter I is called the Training Camp, chapter 2 Meeting the Verears.
• When an enemy is destroyed a bonus may fall from it, which you need to catch. These include shields that give you invulnerability health and luck, (the latter gives you a better chance of hitting your opponent or scoring more points)
• Points equate to cash which can then be spent in the shop to upgrade your ship and weapons
• You keep all points even if you lose and have to restart a level
• There are two modes – Campaign where you work through the available levels and Survival that sends a waves of enemy at you. Survival ends when you are destroyed
• Each survival level ends with a boss fight
• You can’t hit friendly forces – you can distinguish a friendly force from an opfor (opposing force) by the colour of the crystal that dangles from the base of their ship. Friendly forces are blue and enemies are red.
• The game auto saves in campaign mode but not in survival. Though if you end the game part way through a level it will only save to the beginning of the level
• You can replay previous levels unless you start a new game. However this will wipe any progress from previous games, including all the upgrades you’ve purchased.
• There is only one profile available – suggestion, if you want multiple profiles copy the installed executable and then rename , so that you can have multiple games one each for your family. :)
• Options are basic, with only sound and music sliders.
• You earn money by hitting your opponent
• To play on full screen click on the maximise button to the top right of the window.
• You can swap between purchased weapons, but you have to visit the shop to do this.
• Problems – Items in shop disappear when you play on full screen
Images:
You can check out a slide show of about 90 images via the following link. Images show the first few stages with all the story screens and a few screens from the survival mode. http://s571.photobucket.com/albums/ss160/Whiterabbit04/Arcanorum/?albumview=slideshow
Conclusion:
Overall Arcanium is a decent flash game, it just worries me that it’s a virtual rip off of Hammerfight. Even the physics are the same and the designs of the ships similar. Hammerfight has much better graphics, but then that isn’t a flash based game. That said Arcanium has reasonable graphics and game play that'll keep you entertained for short periods. I don't think it's a game you'd spend hours playing, partly because of the repetitive nature of the combat, which is basically swinging various weapons that you have to purchase using the money you've earned from destroying ships in previous levels. The swinging action can feel rather sluggish at first, but power ups and rewards later in the game will help to improve the game play.
Overall (despite the copying) this game is worth a good 7 out of 10, that’s 7 for gameplay, graphics sound and re-playability.
