I might like the game if I could only play it. I was able to download the game and was able to play level one but when I tried to play level two, nothing happened. The dumb how to move the aminal thing would not go off the screen so I was unable to move my animals.
I closed the game and tried to play again. Same problem. I wouldn't buy the game because I may have the same problems.

Come on ppl... this is too much ! i don't see anyone paying money fot this "popcap like" games, the internet is full with this kind of games, at least give us some free(ware) fps,rts,tbs,...etc., or at least once a week give-as something good to play... multiplayer and stuff :)

Really cute game for little kids! A lot of arcade games are just too hard for little kids, instead of having fun kids end up frustrated. :( But this one is great, they only need to sort animals into the correct slots, once a column is filled it disappears, when all columns disappear the level is complete. Game play is forgiving, even if a kid makes a mistake and picks up the wrong animal to place there's a Discard bin to cancel the mistake and they can move on. They also don't need to line up the animals exactly to place them into correct slots, just pick up the correct animal and click on the correct spot to place it. Kid-pleasing music and animal sound effects too.

Graphics are very nice, good backgrounds and very cute animals. Two modes of play, one is very easy and the other more challenging but still not too difficult. Later levels have a ladybug that sometimes comes and cancels out one of the placed animals but it doesn't make the game frustrating, just adds something different for later levels. There's also different kinds of bonuses added to later levels. It can be fun for parents to play together with their kids, also a very relaxing game for parents to play while the the little ones are napping. Installs fine and runs great, also saves games.

Before commenting or automatically voting thumbs down on games geared to younger kids, I wish people could remember there's a very wide audience here. It's especially bad when someone sounds angry that the site dares to even offer games for little kids or automatically give thumbs down when they haven't even downloaded, just because the game looks like it's for kids. Get over it and quit having tantrums, there's a new game every single day. The world doesn't revolve around you, try think of others sometimes. Little kids like to play computer games too and it can be so frustrating for parents to find ones that don't contain inappropriate material AND aren't too hard for the kids.

Hello everyone ;)

As always (for me,) there was no issue with download/activation and setup. Background music is unobtrusive and light hearted.

Options feature includes separate volume controls for SFX and music - which I *always* appreciate. I like background music to be fairly soft while I like the FX to be a little louder. Options also include full screen or window and hardware accelerate. (I've never quite understood that meaning.)

This is an excellent game on more than one level:

- Developing children's motor skills;
- Teaching children animal sounds;
- Keeping the minds of those who are of old age - active;
- As a general animal education tool for very young children - (which sound goes with which animal?)

This is a clone of an original game called "Shape Shifter." I've forgotten who the developer was, but it kept my kids entertained for around a month - till they became bored and able to predict which shape was coming next.

I've only played the first couple of levels, but it seems that this one has a limited # of animals to offer. I'm hoping that this won't be the case the further I progress.

For those that are complaining about how easy it is - have you actually tried the difficult level?

The differences between Shape Shifter and Animal Empire:

- This game uses animals instead of shapes;
- This game works vertically, instead of horizontally.

Great idea, but I know that even my grandkids won't enjoy it for long - this kind of game has an early boredom factor to it.

Thank you Funny Arts for taking part in the GOTD initiative, it shows that you're seriously interested in the opinions of a prospective buyer's audience.

Simple to install and works fine. This is ideal for the younger children, either to work with their parents or for early school kids to play independently.

This game is only good for 60 minutes... then you must purchase it to continue. In other words, it's a trial version that you can obtain at almost any software site. It's NOT a free game at all. In addition, it crashed my computer the first time I tried to play it.

GOTD used to offer real software, not phony advertising. This game is pure crap!

in the expert mode, level one, first animal, the arrow tells you to pick up the cat and place it in the left row, but sometimes there is no cat shown in the left row, the arrow points to ABOVE THE TOP or BELOW THE BOTTOM of the row.
