Alien Terminator was available as a giveaway on July 20, 2008!
Destroy bases of the agressive aliens for the sake of humankind.

If you don't find the AI challenging, here's a trick. Go into the data folder of the game, and open up ai.dat in a text editor. The section relevant to the game is the middle section (the other two sections are commented out). Look at the first line to see which numbers correspond to what. Then pick your enemy and have fun with the numbers. If you want to, you can make them all hove 100 health (though I bet it'll take quite a lot of rounds to shoot one up).

This honestly was the only game i've kept from the random giveaways. Definitely worthwhile...

How are you going to contact the company, if it is 'classified' as someone said here?

I love this game I am going to try and talk the company that produces this to make it available on Xbox Live Arcade. This is definitely worth the price if you didn't get it yesterday

Thanks #43 & # 50 for the advice. I think I got it now. Just a pain when stuff like that happens.
Appreciate when people step in and try to help.

...another one of the same ilk. The child is so impatient it can't even wait until AFTER it tries to game to make a report.

Thanks for the game, haven’t played it before. Will surely give it a try
...why would people who don't even know you consider it important that you "will give it a try." Do you feel that your intentions are of universal interest? So many useless posts to wade thru.

Nice graphics, nice sound, simple but nice gameplay.
So for me 8/10.

My grandson likes the game. Its more fun with my joy stick .The truck is more controllable . I like running them down with the truck. Looks like a good game. We have played it for 5 hours now. And it only froze once ,that was when I was running the truck in circles over them watching the blood fly. Thanks GGAOTD

This is quite an addictive game, and (for me), seemed good graphically.
It's a keeper for now, will try again tomorrow as it's very late.

Thanks for the information Stan (comment #32 & 33). I wasn't willing to spend the time playing any more once I'd finished mission 2. (My daughter had her final day playing a mouse in a dance production, so I wanted to go and watch otherwise I may have spent more time playing the game) I should have known there would be upgrades. I put my faith in what I'd read, plus a gut feeling about the game, which was wrong.
The screen captures were excellent. What capture device did you use? I usually use Capture Wiz Pro, but it let me down on today game as any animations seemed to spoil the screen capture as most just showed the background graphic, hence the small number of images I've posted this time. After the holiday I’m looking to start capturing video sequences of the games I test and then upload them to you tube. A video can tell you a lot more about a game than a few images and a few paragraphs of script.
I do think a game should give you more than a days play though. 10 missions is rather scant in my opinion, though the game is less than $10 which is refreshing. (Did you play the game without a break?) Sill there are comprable games for free (see my links to gametop over in the forums:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/3628
You can get Crimson Road and RIP3: The last hero for free, the latter game is far superior to today game in my opinion.
See you all in a few weeks.

Stephen

You might try the freeware REVO uninstaller, which is very good,
http://www.revouninstaller.com/
or the equally effective Cleanse uninstaller that was a featured giveaway awhile back.
Both scan registry for leftovers from a program after running the main uninstall for the program, and allow you to preview and choose which registry keys you wish uninstalled.
CCleaner is great, but the above two both have the added benefit of clearly showing you any leftover registry keys or files, and their exact location in tree view.

I understand this websie is a ree game a weekend thing, and i appreciate the free ames, but to tell you the honest truth, I absoltely look forward to the games on the weekend, and lately these games have not been geared to the older peole, but only young ones. Is it ust that the young ones play
This is frustrating me, and I certainly would hope you would get some games which maybe the older generation wold like

it crashed! nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
its pretty fun, kinda easy, no story :(

I agree with #19 pava. Since there are only 2 games a week now, it would be nice if at least one was not a shooting game - I didn't download either game this weekend. However, I still appreciate the opportunity. Thanks GGOTD.

This game is identical to another one played in the jungle, except the steering of the car is now immediately understandable as opposed to its predecessor's which was initially utterly confusing and later hardly bearable.
The game is still entirely meh. Drive around and shoot a bunch of bad guys who can't find their way out of an open barn and couldn't make a dent in your car even if you didn't try to oppose them. No challenge, boring and repetitive gameplay. Thumbs down, way down.
Save | Cancel
It might be a gender-related thing, but I agrree with Pava (comment #19). especially with only two games a week, a better ratio of shoot-em-up to other types (e.g., strategy, puzzle, story, or just about anything else) would be nice. Thanks for all the great free stuff.

have you tried using ccleaner to remove it? :/ probably right?

Thanks GGODT!

Thanks for today's game offer - looks like fun, but just not a type of game that I like to play.
Thanks for all the comments - enjoy your vacation Stephen-WR and thanks for the link to 'Gametop'.
Also, thanks to the GAOTD/GGAOTD team for all their hard work.

"Destroy bases of the agressive aliens for the sake of humankind"
Oh, great all aliens are aggressive and we have to teach our kids to hate aliens! Also, all game makers can't spell or use spell check; so we are teaching our kids to misspell! What next? We build a stereo type about how all Dwarfs live in mines, collect treasure, and hate trolls? How about one that all Italian plumbers bash blocks, go through mazes eating 'shrooms, killing monsters, and collecting HUGE coins only to bill princesses a pie?
Sorry all, I just had to do it. Hate me if you want, but you know that you laughed.. or at least smiled.
P.S. The game looks great and I am downloading now.

I don't like this game just because of the fact it doesn't actually install on the computer. So, to answer #21, you don't uninstall the program. Just delete or shred the folder you extracted when clicking the setup file. This is an older way for games to get put onto computers. Nowadays, programs actually install.
I would not pay money for this game. The controls are crap, would have been better if it were mouse-controlled. Then it is very annoying that you can't move the point of view, or if there's a way, I couldn't find it. I like to be able to move the view around so I can see where I'm going and see any enemies before they get to me.
I enjoy coming to this site and have no complaints about what the team does, but every game offered from "Some Company" seems to be crap and not worth my time. Any publisher that can't think of a real name for itself and doesn't even have it's own site shouldn't be bothered with.
That's my opinion anyway.

First off thank you to GAOTD for their site and all the software they manage to find to give us. Not everything suits me but I have found some great software here.
That being said I downloaded this game and went to install it and came up with all kinds of problems. The first time I have had a problem with something from the regular site or the game site here.
I have a program monitor that monitors any install I make and logs each and every file. It could not remove all the files. It had one particular index.dat file that could not be removed under any circumstances. I will get it out in the registry or some other way but I really should not have had to go through this. Don't know if anyone else had this problem. It could have been some kind of bad download or install that caused it. Anyway, I just mention this in case anyuone else has the problem.
Like I said this is the first problem I have had and I still thank this site for it's offering.

WhiteRabbit, #14
I will try to make some notices.
You weren't right, there are upgrades for primary weapons. Green circle bonuses with arrow make upgrades. I upgrade the lasers to green ones on the mission 3, and to blue target-seeking ones on mission 5.
Besides lasers there are plasma and rockets, you can change them with mouse wheel. They are also upgradable.
Secondary weapons - grenades - are not upgradable, but the superweapon ( space key ) has 2 additional types.
The game is good and thanks GGAOTD for that!

37 seconds to d/l with FIOS and 26 seconds to install.
I hated the music, though Its an MP3 so I could have changed the music
I didn't like the game play , being old and having to coordinate my left hand driving and my right hand shooting just annoyed me.
Had there been better graphics and the music been better to start I might have kept this game.
It will appeal to the younger set. Mindless violence oriented people will enjoy it too.

This game could have fun but for the fiddly controls.
Mouse and keyboard control combined is always a nightmare.
Thankfully White Rabbit offered some good alternatives.

#21 This game is not 'installed' it is only unzipped into a folder. So if you want to get rid of it you only need to delete the folder you unzipped it into.
Default is C:\games\AlienTerminator
All software should install this way!! By the way you should be able to unzip this to a thumb drive and take it with you too.
Save | Cancel
Psst... any *cough* *cough* cheats? *cough* ? LOL I couldn't even find the site of the developer through google.
Save | Cancel
For Whitemist @#21: The game apparently does not do a classic "install," but merely unzips into the directory you specified when running the download (default: C:\Games\Alien Terminator)...
If you delete the contents of that directory, you should be in good shape...

thanks, I'll give it a try later today.

This is pretty good. I read before in one of the comments that the missiles take a bit to reach their destination however, there is also the PRIMARY WEAPON. Which is essentially a gun...
Anyway, this is definatly a Thumbs-Up.
Brilliant stuff.

Sorry, but I have to wonder why one out of only two games a week is always a blood'n'guts shooting game. Won't anyone let you offer thinking games? It doesn't matter if it's Professor Fizzwizzle or an old version of Moorhuhn or something like Brainiversity, or even Mahjong or cards. Just something that's not so kill-oriented, requiring fast reflexes.
I'm sure I'm not in the majority, but I know I'm not alone. To have 50% of all GOTD games in the same genre seems a bit favoritist. Come on, guys, please have a heart.

p.s.
Sorry for the multiple posts; I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words from many of the community over the last year. I've really enjoyed writing the weekend games reviews, though I do think I've dropped down a gear or two recently (apart from a few reviews) This will be may last review until the second weekend in August because I go on vacation to Egypt in a few days. I don't know whether the game giveaway team is shutting the game giveaway down for the summer vacation, so it could very well be my last review until September?
Whatever the case, I wish everyone a happy summer, (though I realize some are going into their winter; lol.

p.s. this is one of those games where you use one hand on the keyboard to move around, and then you use the mouse with the othe hand to aim and fire. wether it is a first person 3D game, or like this 3rd person game... I really like the interface and hand controls. kinda like playin QUAKE. the experts use the 2 hands at the same time to kick butt. Actually a really ool game so far. Meening- I like the interface and graphics. Sorry, i want to get morw work done so i cant say more then that at this time.
