I forgot to add, I'm not fond of the new adds on MyPlayCity that activate when you roll over them. And while trying to watch a video for a game I considered downloading, the bottom 1/4 of the video was covered by an ad that I don't think can be cleared, making it pointless to watch the video. I'll glady try out the games they offer here, but there's no longer a reason to explore anything on their site. I hope they read this and back off in their forced ads. I know that's how they make their money but it reminds me of a goose that laid golden eggs....

My thanks to you also, WhiteRabbit. You keep this site going! And yes, Tangerine Dream is pretty nice to listen to in games like this! Been a fan of theirs since 1973, read Lord of the Rings while listening to Phaedra and Rubycon.
As for Alien Outbreak 2, I'm going to like this one. I made it almost to the end of the 2nd level before I got a 'Game Over'. Must be the late hour... Anyway, I like the graphics, sounds are ok, music not, and I like that it's not like 90% of the SHMUPs on Steam where you fire a continuous stream of bullets and blanket the screen. This one takes a little skill! And the background (so far) doesn't make it hard to see what you need to avoid. Yes, I like this one. Thanks to the Giveaway site and once again to MyPlayCity. Happy New Year to all!

Ok Windows 10 x64 Pro. Yes is a typical shooter but on Easy I got into Level 11 after it saved at 10 (beat the Boss & its little ships it drops). Escape key when into Level 11, which started off about as easy as did Level 1, before breaking to here.
That seems to be the only Save method since breaking in L 11 gave message saying Game Saved but you will only continue from L 11 which I guess is warning you can't replay 1-10 w/o a fresh start or maybe a new Player?
Anyway for what it is and managing to get past a Boss right off it's ok. Didn't seem to have the Shop/Customizing feature some of these have, just the in play-extras you catch. Gotta say my right finger did get worn out a bit (14k shots game said after L10 done). Save the right mouse button secondary extras for when the alien bigger ships bunch up -- seems to blow several that way.
I took some hits but didn't really watch that right side meter much, but didn't die. Just don't rem if had extra ships/lives. There are little messages in lower left to show what extra you've gain and is in effect so blast away then.
Wore down Boss by hugging one side (tho the little ships dog you there), wear its top live bar all way down, then hit it from front on with a double right mouse blasts. If have two of those secondaries it finishes Boss. Imagine could be more challenge at higher levels but for now it's 7.75/10 just for a trigger fest if a fan of genre.

White Rabbit, I begin to suspect that you really don't want to know how I would greatly improve Alien Outbreak 2. Why else would you ask that users sign up and sign in on an insecure page that really doesn't work very well? Alien Outbreak 2 will just have to stay as it is.

I like Alien Outbreak 2. It's like DOS Space Invaders, with color and sound. It is very quickly and easily installed, and it runs well. The setup file is relatively small and downloads quickly. My only complaint is that one must move one's ship with the mouse and at the same time use left and right mouse buttons to fire weapons. I'd rather have the firing buttons on the keyboard. Thank you, MPC and White Rabbit.

Well... I like it. There is more mobility of your ship than in the Star Defender series but those enemy ships are harder to kill. None of them blow up with just one shot. I got totally killed in the first battle on the 'normal' setting. I guess I will try the easy levels first. I usually have sound turned off but left it on on my first try. Not bad music of explosion sound effects. I will keep it. Thanks White Rabbit and Play City and Happy New Year to the Whole World from North Carolina.

A fun space shooter although I find I need to take a break from time to time as the action is so very rapid and relentless.
I used esc key to begin the exit procedure...and it is a many step process to exit and save and put your name in the hall of fame list each time.
Installed and ran perfectly smooth and full screen. Can't comment on the sound because I always turn it off.
Thanks for the fun game GOTD and WR.

Now I realize that there is no way to save a game and continue at another time. Definitely not rewarding as I don't want to invest hours in playing to enjoy all the levels and accumulate enough lives to make it through the entire game. Kind of boring after playing for awhile.

Downloaded, Installed, and Activated with no problem on my Win10x64 machine using Edge as my Browser.
Just last night I was thinking I needed a change ,gamewise, for awhile and an old fashioned Shoot Em Up is just the ticket. Played for six levels as a trial run and its fairly standard, shoot a crapload aliens as they float around shooting at you. And I must say ........ this game is going to be pretty tough to "beat". Keep an eye on your life meter and grab every power up you can because even the "easiest" aliens can take a lot of punches. Until you get some power ups under your belt just click like you've never clicked before!
The Graphics are decent enough for what it is but it is an older game. No way to save a game either that I can find. Looks like the coins you win aren't meant to be spent either, just a "score". Anyway, about the save function or LACK thereof that may really impact the replayability of this for me. Sure, arcade - style I can enter my name in the "Honor Roll" , top score's, but having to start completely over every time I play?
Anyway...... I hesitate to fully recommend this game but its not bad either just ...... uneven I guess.
Feedback for the Developer? You betcha!
1. A Save function!
2. Early levels unnecessarily hard.
3.A Save function!
Final Verdict : If you are a shootemup fan grab it! Its an Alawar game so you know the Graphics and Gameplay are decent. Be warned that I can find no save function so far. You'll may want to grab it if you're NOT a huge fan of this type of game just because you DO have to start over each time. As a seldom used change of pace. Which is what I'll be using it for. This probably won't be on my machine for very long though.
As always thanks to MPC and the GGOTD Team for efforts.

indianacarnie, I did not make it through the first level so do not know about saving score - but, did you try hitting 'escape' and see if it will do it? That is what works on some games and then you pick them up again. Could be??

indianacarnie,
Its me Indianacarnie, just updating my earlier post. Have played again and its grown on me a little. Still no real Save that I can find. I guess after you beat the Boss at the end of every 10th level you can start from there but anything in between seems to mean a start over. Once you start losing your power enhancements you're screwed be warned.

AMD virtual resolution must be OFF, otherwise the game, although in full screen mode, will be shown in a quarter of screen.
I.e., it will be in the up-left corner in a quarter of screen, whereas the other three quarters will be black.
I've recently changed my hardware: amd apu a10-7800, with integrated radeon r7 graphics.
Win10 home x64, v1709b16299, DEP AlwaysOn, UAC max setting, 10 defender, 10 firewall, 1920x1080 60Hz, custom scaling 150%.

I love the "Star Defender" series and this looks like it might be similar. I am sure going to give it a download and 'test drive' it. I'll probably get killed in the first battle but that is okay. I'll come back and let you know!
