This is an awesome game. I love the "match 3" type games, like Bejewled and Puzzle Hero, and this is the best I've played yet.

It crashes if I try to turn off full-screen, but that's not really a problem. There is so much detail put into the graphics that full-screen allows the full effect.

Two thumbs up!

Mm, I use Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 if someone wants to address the full-screen crash bug.

I thoroughly enjoy games with matching 3 things so downloaded, installed and tried Age Of Japan II. Pictures were lovely; didn't have sounds turned on because I usually like quiet. Anyway, after playing a half-dozen times decided the graphics were too confusing for my eyes, for lack of another explanation. "Too busy" for these old eyes. So deleted it.

Regardless, I thank GOTD for giving me the opportunity to try it out.

Age of Japan 2, the sequel to Age of Japan is not so great... Not nearly as good as the original Age of Japan. Age of Japan disappoints, is not as fun to play, slower paced, doesn't have as good of sound as the first - as I thought the original Age of Japan was excellent.

I have long kept Age of Japan and completed it many times over, and continue to play it. Age of Japan 2 was so annoying to play that its already been uninstalled.

Downloaded it. Ran set-up. Set-up started then I recieved an arror message that another ptogram stopped it's installation. Window Vista Home Premium. The usual windows 'try' to find solution to problem occurred. Of course that windows feature failed, as usual. Sounded like a cool relaxing game. Thanks for the try GAOTD.

Game is decent. Worth the time to download and install (granted less than a minute on my system). Not a lasting experience. It's a basic Match 3 with a few bonuses. Nothing breathtaking. Options to change pixels between two types is nice. Honestly, they would have done better to keep the "story" in the original Japanese...either the translation is awful or the plot is. Either way, I'd rather not have read it.

I've gotten to level 30 and can see finishing up Arcade mode. Not something I'll play past the first run through.

Thank you! A winner for my grandson and I. One that I will keep.
Soothing music, challenging and a great time 'spender'.
Now, I am anticipation another 'Ozzy' adventure. *smiles*
I am grateful that it wasn't another 'space adventure' this week.
Thanks again Gotd, you are a winner and I always look forward to
the week end because of you. (kinda like planning my nights by the TV guide, huh? LOL) Anyway, thank you so much.
A keeper!

Downloaded and installed fine on XPHome. The instructions aren't clear enough (for me anyway!) to work out how to play the game. Otherwise really nice graphics and music. Thanks GAOTD and vendor.

Fun game, some of the level designs could use some work though. The later levels especially, 43 I passed in seconds, 44 took me 4 tries. Balance could have been worked on more.

This is a great game! I am enjoying playing it again! Like a few others that posted messages here, I got a new computer (laptop) and thus no longer had it on my computer. Something cool I discovered is that this game will play from a thumb drive! So I can enjoy playing it without it taking up space on my computer! I'm going to try doing the same thing with the other games that GGAOTD offers.

Installed this game without a hitch the last time it was offered and have played it through at least twice. It's still an integral part of my match 3 games and one of my favorites. Not nearly as explosive and interesting as Treasure of Montezuma but still quite playable for long periods of time. The only problem I had was not really knowing what some of the power-ups did or how they were used but I got through the game just fine without them so no worries.

Even though it's a repeat for me, I want to thank GGOTD and Realore as I'm sure there will be many people who will try it for the first time.

Age Of Japan One, when in puzzle mode, has no timer in the game. Now that is something wonderful for someone, like me, just wanting to have fun relaxing without having a clock ticking away at you. Age Of Japan 2 has a timer, in puzzle mode, and that is the only fault I give it. The graphics are far better than AoJ One and the story board is just plain fun to follow. On a scale of ten I'd give it a 9.

I downloaded this first onto my own computer and then onto my husband's.
On my computer it runs great but DOES seem to take a lot of memory, even though the computer meets and exceeds the system requirements.
On my husband's computer which also meets the criteria, the cursor is wonky and the screen cannot be made, "windowed", which always helps in similar situations..(his is windows 98 SE)
Other than that small bug,I do think it is a marvellous game and am enjoying it very much.
Thanks so much GGOTD and Realore games!

I love this game! I am going to beat level 27 if it takes all night.
Seems that I enjoy all of the Realore games and they are definitely being played over and over. From my three year old niece all the way to my eighteen year old daughter and myself of course! The only suggestion I would have on this game is to have a better explanation of the bonus items and that you need to buy them! Took me awhile to figure that part out and it makes the game so much more fun to play with the different bonuses! Thanks Realore and GGOTD for another great game.

I had the same problema as no. 46 - spacepixie. The only difference was I installed on two computers running XP. After I shut the game down I was redirected to internet explorer. The displayed page said "sorry no postings...", I then discovered that the next page displayed had search results for helium balloons ect. Never, ever had this before. I hope I never have it again.

I do wish more games would be capable of running in smaller window than fullscreen though.

I downloaded program and it seemed to install successfully. I can start the program and it seems to run OK. However, when I try to check the option to run it minimized (not full screen), I get an error message saying the program must close. Bottom line, I can't run the program unless it's full screen; and then the pointer doesn't work correctly.

Anyone else experience this?

 Wayne I didn't say why you should contact the Admin's. It was to ask for my Email so that we can contact each other so that I can send you the card. (Don't worry about postage costs I can absorb that).

Hi Wayne S. You say you've tried to download DX8 and failed. Try the latest drivers (DX9 not DX10 though as that's designed for Vista). If it still doesn't work then it's almost certainly your Graphics card. :( Older ones wont have the hardware onboard the card to deal with the later DX10 software.

Wouldn't you know it, I have a spare graphics card (2 or 3 actually) that would definitely do, especially as you say your computer is as old as it is. The reason I say that is the newer graphics cards all use PCI-E, whereas older ones use AGP sockets which my spare graphic cards are. I no longer have any motherboards that use AGP socket graphic cards, so rather than have them sit in my spares cupboard for the next couple of years, at which point they will be thrown away because of redundancy I'll gladly give you one.

You’ll need to contact the Admin’s via a private message. To do that you will need to register over on the forums, then click on the link below your name (when you’re signed in) that says “you have no new messages”. Click on subject new PM then select Admin from the drop down menu that’s located above the message title.

Alternatively you will find that your local computer hardware sore may have some older models that usually sell for as little as $10.

Hi! I know I shouldn't ask this here but I surfed the site and couldn't find an answer and I really want to play this game. The game installed ok, but when I go to play it the screen is not centered on the computer. I installed DirectX9 hoping that would help but it didn't. My computer has all the requirements. If you could please help I would appreciate it. Can't wait to play!! Thanks

I for one want to see the old give aways repeated. I had my hard drive die and lost everything. I'm looking forward to brave dwarfs to be repeated along with all the service packs! Wish we could get games 7 days a week like the old days. Here's an idea, switch and do games 7 days a week and the computer programs 2 days a week. At any rate I appreciate every game and program you give to us, thanks.

I actually played this last night! Again.

I've had it since you gave it away before and it's one of my favorites. My husband doesn't have it and was saying things like "the fans in the upper right" all the time when he looked over from his computer. Now he can download it for his PC when he gets home from work. Thanks!

Yes, it's another "match three" game, but there some waaaay cool features I like.
1. You can choose which tools you want to buy as you progress up the levels instead of the game deciding.
2. Rather than returning to the main explanation (just to figure out what the gloves do) you can hovering your mouse over the tools to produce an explanation of it's function, tell you the level at which it may be purchased or let you know that it's maximum power increase has been reached. It is very nice when you are new to the game.
3. Tools aren't available right away but need to "charge up" at the beginning of each level. I find this a plus because games that aren't a challenge bore me.
4. On some boards objects fall through single holes to entirely new boards at an angle. This makes matching more difficult as it has to be done from below.
5. There is a level where you must clear the board while using a flashlight.
6. The award after level 45 was very appropriate given the samurai-at-war theme. More levels please :)

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it doesn't keep my high score :'(

Thanks GGotD and Realore. I look forward to more great games from you.

P.S....the developer who thought up the flashlight level is evil :)

A great game that I have played and completed 3 times in both puzzle and arcade mode. Beautiful graphics and oriental style music. Hint to new players to avoid game frustration--in the early levels of either mode, concentrate on acquiring the bonus items such as "bomb," "lightning." and "power of one color." This will help you blow through the bonus levels too. Later you can acquire standard weapons such as "helmet," "sword" levels 2 and 3, etc. The upper levels can be extremely challenging. Don't hesitate to use the "abort" option if the initial shuffle looks like a loser. You'll know what I mean when you get there.

Installed fine. A nice game that's easy to use. I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's worth the download. And it's FREE!, so I'm not complaining.
I, personally, like the repeated games. It gives me a chance to get games that I have missed in the past. Not everyone has known about this website for years (like me) so repeating games gives people a chance to get them.

I still have this game from the last time it was offered. I had almost forgotten about it until I saw it offered here again today so I had to go back a play it for a while. :)

Good match 3 game with good graphics and music. I say 'good' because it is not (to me) a 'great' match 3 game but, it is worth a download for those looking for a challenge. As mentioned, there are better ones available but this one is still a good one.
