Well, on my Win10 PC, I get a "this game needs DirectPlay installed" dialog. Clicking "Skip this installation" does allow the game to load, but … minimised. Oh well, clicking its taskbar button restores normality. Clicking X in the "DirectPlay" dialog shows the game's start-up graphics, but clicking Skip doesn't (?).
I've tried all sorts of Compatibility settings and nothing "solved" the starting minimised issue: in fact, some settings made the game window grey out (!). So my advice is, a) leave those settings alone; b) ignore the DirectPlay dialog by your preferred means; and c) just accept you'll have to un-minimise it.
The game itself is sort-of no-frills, with what looks like not too many locations, but some of the puzzles will have you scratching your head; plus there are a lot of jigsaws involved: for a HOG, that is! Also, so far, there are no find-all-the-things-in-this-list locations; the game is more about finding the "one right thing" to solve each puzzle as you go along. Talking of which, there's no map either.
One nice feature is that when there's nothing left to do or find in a location, the game helpfully displays "This area is clear" when you visit it. I also personally like the somewhat cryptic nature of some of the hints.
Worth a download IMHO, despite the odd loading behaviour. IMHO, it's a more like an old-school adventure puzzle game than a HOG as we know it nowadays. And none the worse for that.

Well, that's just weird. Installed (Win 10) and not only does it open in a small window without having given any option to set options, but once you start the game, there is NO menu button showing and so no way to close the game without Ctrl-Alt-Deleting your way out! Maybe I'm missing something but just tired of spending time getting these old games to work.

It's sorta working now. Couldn't resist tweaking and so got it to display larger screen complete with menu, though still a tad flaky and when I exit it does weird things to my browser (I guess related to where it re-directs upon exit.) So maybe a 5/10 which for me is "if I'm really, really bored and have nothing else to do." :)

neme, Try modifying the game's Windows properties by right-clicking on the icon and selecting properties at the bottom. Select the compatibility tab and try different settings.

Michael Summerset, I'd posted earlier (but it's not showing up) that I did try the compatibility options and that's one of the things that seemed to help (it set to Win7). That's the first thing I try with these extremely old games. Still working well enough to allow me to play further, though not loving it. Of course, to me, even a mediocre HO/adventure game is enjoyable! :)

neme, perhaps there's an internet shortcut somewhere that doesn't need to exist? ;)

"Select the compatibility tab and try different settings."
*If* it's still there [Microsoft's doing away with it], clicking Troubleshoot compatibility after right clicking the game's .exe file [usually game.exe] *may* be easier. Otherwise, on the compatibility tab you'll often have to pay attention to the settings that pop up after clicking Change high DPI settings.
