I've been playing this game for awhile and really enjoy it. I would suggest adding level button(s) such as beginner and advanced since some of the puzzles are sooooooooooo easy but the actual game gets challenging (at least for me.)

I am pleased with this game. Simple is sometimes challenging. Thank you for giving this one away.

Another addition I thought of, especially as I'm starting to notice that the higher level puzzle are in fact forming shapes - It would be nice if after solving the puzzle it either stayed displaying for a few seconds longer or, as I would prefer, it stays displaying until the player presses enter or clicks the mouse button. As is, I don't get a chance to really enjoy the pattern/shape that I've made.

Fun game. Similar to Picross, but it doesn't make a picture.

Two "complaints":

1. On larger grids (eg 20x20), the arrow is not as accurate.

2. It would be nice if the numbers highlighted as you moused into each row/column so you know which ones to work from. There have been a few times on larger grids where I was looking at the wrong numbers.

Oh well, I will have to hope that this will be repeated at some time. It has been on my wishlist and I was so pleased when I got up this morning and saw the subscribed email about it and so disappointed when I got here and see it was yesterday's deal.
It is not the first time it has happened so I think I will cancel the notifications. Many of the offerered games I already have played so do not bother to come and check on them.
Just hope that many folk are enjoying the game.

Did it again! Waited 'til the last minute to test. Works on W2K and very old hardware just like 7 Wonders. Like the process of elimination Sudoku/Minesweeper kind of logic puzzle. The first section of this one is easier than 7 Wonders. Recommend people play the bonus levels right they finish a country as good skill practice since the bonuses are time play levels. There's some rotation of the puzzles in bonus so there's some replayability. Like the addition of the "use right click as a hammer option. Speeds up the play. Don't remember it in 7 Wonders. Should be added if it's not there. Kids should like the animal motif/info. Gonna play this one alot!

Nice game. Easily downloaded and activated on my Win 7 64bit machine. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The graphics were a 7, but the music only a 5. But luckily, I turned it down. I'd give the play ability factor a 7. Yes, it may be for kids, but I guess I'm a kid at heart.

Nice graphics. Simple game logic/puzzle game I've seen on paper but haven't run across on the computer. If you don't like these number logic puzzles, you won't like this game. I've done these types of puzzles before and find the game start off very easy. They do get harder, which I like.

The theme is ok. The puzzles are good with or without the theme.

I have World Riddles: 7 Wonders, and World Riddles: Animals, from MyPlayCity, and I like them both. The riddle style is based on simple math, and the levels are timed, but you don’t have lives to run out of; you just get to do a level over if you time out. Also, if you want to try and do a level faster, you can go back to any level to replay it, and then jump back to where you left off, instead of having to replay all the levels in between.

The tutorials are very helpful. And, as was mentioned, one of the items on the Options menu allows you to have the right mouse button be the hammer that clears empty cells, so you don’t have to switch back and forth all the time.

I’m sure you’ll get some complaints about this being too easy, but for me it’s just right. I still haven’t managed to “get the gold” on all the levels, and maybe never will.

Thanks, all; now I’m looking forward to Secrets of the Ages!

I first found this type of puzzle in a book published by Games Magazine which called them "Paint-by-Number." I found another version called Descartes' Enigma a long time ago. Everett Kaser Software also has a color version called Descartes' Rainbow. The registered versions both include editors so you can make your own puzzles, and test them to make sure they're solvable. I don't mind the lack of sophisticated graphics.

There were a couple of puzzles in Seven Wonders that I'm not sure were solvable. Having the Descartes Enigma editor would let me test that, but I'm not sure where my install CD is. I like this kind of puzzle though.

This game is delightful, due to its animal theme, the lovely graphics and the cheerful music. Having said that I'd like to encourage Funny Bear Studios to branch out from the logic puzzles featured in this popular series to different types of puzzles, and also quizzes with more challenging questions than those in this game. FBS make very decent, good quality games but I think they could broaden their appeal by varying the gameplay a lot more.

Also I'd like to encourage game-makers generally to make more games which, like this one, focus on animals and the natural world. The artwork and the theme of this game is really relaxing and refreshing. Thanks very much to FBS, GOTD and Stephen for this great giveaway.

Guess I am gonna have to check out Kakuro games(Thanks Trickykitty) because I really like playing these types of games. It taxes the brain but in a good way. The more you play, the more proficient you seem to get. I learn as I progress into the levels. I really like the first one we got(still working on it) so gonna save this one for when I finish. Only played one level, just to make sure it worked.

The only thing I would suggest is to make a beginner, junior, and senior/expert mode so the kids can play it and learn from it. Even allow them to "skip" levels and come back to them later.

Thanks Funny Bear Studio and GGOTD for the opportunity to play this game and That Furry Wrascally Wabbit for his review.

I purchased Paint-Doku (analog puzzle book - you can get/order from any bookstore) a couple of years back which makes pictures for each puzzle. I solve that book using two different colored map pencils, much as this one uses the world/paws to denote On/Off squares. I'm barely half way through that thing and still bring it out on occasion to work on a new puzzle.

I actually liken this kind of puzzle more to Kakuro (math-logic cross between Sudoku and Crossword) than Sudoku itself. If you like this game and Sudoku, you should also look into Kakuro puzzles.

I'm glad it starts off horribly easy, unlike someone above who complained of it. It starts off too easy for a seasoned player like myself, but I can happily recommend this to friends that will need the easy levels to get going and become comfortable with this logic-style game. I've reached level 4-9 and found my first REALLY challenging puzzle, but I can see how they are gradually getting more difficult as the game progresses in general.

I also like that the puzzles are unlimited timed, with a reward for fast times, but no penalty per se for slower times.

Tidbits I noted that REALLY make this game better for someone like me and that I wish were part of the instructions instead of things that I found out incidentally:
1) The ability to hold down the button and move over multiple squares without having to click so much.
2) The fail-safe of the above to limit that action to the current row or column in which the mouse first begins to drag.
2) The settings option to make the right click operate as the hammer instead of a toggle. Luckily, I tend to check my settings before I play any game, so I was glad to see that as an option, but it would have been nice to have a mention of it during or just after the tutorial.

Great Game!

Puzzle 2-7 is solvable without assumptions. Answer in next paragraph, so don't read any further if you do not want the answer.

First, finalize the 6 set, the spacer above it, and the middle and bottom rows. If you haven't done that first, then you need to. For the top section, notice that the 4th row of 3 globes cannot start at the far left or the far right without making the 3rd row of 1-1 impossible. That solves the 4th row. This will then allow you to solve the 3rd row, the 1st 3rd and 5th columns, and the rest, in that order.

This, and the others similar to it, are great logic games. They can get really difficult as the player progresses, which is pretty normal for most games, but this is a great one! Thanks to all who are responsible for providing this!

Excellent offering, but I DO love logic games. I have just a handful of suggestions.

1. When the game is loading there is a point where the bottom 'load indicator' fills up but nothing else happens for a while, no mouse, no anything. It would be nice if something would blink or move so you know your system hasn't frozen before the 'click to continue' message shows up.

2. Mini games have no exit option. There have been times when I completed a level and was going to exit but the mini level opens and I am trapped until time runs out. The menu option should always let me exit.

3. It would be nice if the row or column would light up when you mouse over the end, or the hint could. Not important in the lower levels but when you get to the 15 x 20 ones it is sometimes hard to track back.

Thanks to all for a very fun game.

Clean download and install on my Vista Home Premium 32bit.

It is very similar to World Riddles Seven Wonders - nothing wrong with that at all - both fun and educational, which is always a double thumbs up from here.

Not sure why, but the sound hacks every now and again - possibly my soundcard drivers - has anyone else experienced this?

When I reached the minigame in Australia though, it actually asks you to match the correct picture to the description of the bird that IS falsely known for burying its head in the sand (that's not verbatim, just the gist), and the match is the ostrich (don't really consider that a spoiler as that cat was already out of the bag), so I can only summise that ALF must have misread the question - no need for Funny Bear Studios to panic.

Even though the games are timed, there seems to be a decent enough allowance to not feel too pressured - have only tried up to Australia thus far though, so time will tell (no pun intended!)

The graphics and background music are pleasant and as good as can be expected in this price range.

All in all, a pleasant interlude that doesn't overtax the grey matter or fray the nerves, whilst being stimulating enough to be enjoyable for young and old alike (though probably a bit tame for teenagers.)

Thanks for the game. I'll enjoy solving the math problems. The animal questions are too basic. I would think that most elementary children would already know the answers but find the math problems more challenging.

One more thing:

I'm up to the fourth or fifth country and the puzzles are still very elementary. The grid hasn't really gotten larger: too many of the larger puzzles have zeroed out columns and rows which immediately make the puzzle smaller and much simpler. I understand the need to start small, but it's taking far too long to get to more advanced puzzles. By the fourth level of 7 Wonders, the 15 by 15/ 15 by 20 puzzles didn't break apart with zero columns.

I still like the game; thanks again to GOTD.

I agree with #20. Puzzle 2-7 is not solvable without making additional assumptions about the placement of the globes. I was surprised such a level was created in the middle of the game while 2-6, 2-8 and 2-9 are so easy to solve. I scratched my head so hard on that level it took me more than 5 minutes to just make additional assumptions to solve it.

Got the earlier World Riddles game and loved it but my system crashed and I was unable to play it again. I always download and play all match three, hidden object and puzzle games and find them all very satisfying. I hope to play this one to the end. Interesting game play with mini games inbetween levels. A right little brain teaser. Well worth trying a few levels out before you comment it start off easy and gets considerably harder. I will enjoy this one.

I'm not trying to be a smart aleck here, and I'm sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this, but just so you know, all over the GAOTD site (such as the ticker that appears to tell you the game has been installed on your system), it says you can get a free game EVERY day from GAOTD (I'm NOT referring to the free software as that IS marked correctly, but to the game notation ONLY). You may want to have a programmer go in and edit those instances. It says the same in the upper right hand corner of the screen when in the software area...promotion of the game says "every day."

I love these logic puzzles and this one is really good. But I am finding some of the beginning rounds too easy. It might be an idea to have two or three difficulty levels that one could pick, if one is particularly good at these games.

I never listen to the music, anyway, so it doesn't matter, to me and the graphics do not matter to me either; the smoothness in the game play does however, and the cursor can get laggy and jumpy. Not overly so in this game, but the world mosiacs... ouch.

Also I do not like the mini-games at all, so it would be good to be able to skip those right away instead of having to wait for a specific amount of time.

Thanks for the giveaway

Add my thanks too. Prior one did get a bit old after awhile esp when got to a series of many 1s. Did resort to making a grid system so replaying a game could be a cheat using filled in squares. Tried to save that for hardest levels otherwise game became like file in the blanks work. Carefully holding down LMB or RMB will repeat click so can blow fast thru row, column if no more blocks. Just be sure cursor doesn't pass over into adjoining row or might take out one by accident ruining score. Also rate 7.5 to 8 on 10 for extra puzzles.
Offer of third in series would be a further treat.

I happen to have already bought this game, so I can't take advantage of today's offer, but I urge everyone to give this logic game a try - it's very addicting! The game starts off with an easy grid but it gets progressively harder as the game progresses. However, since your skills build up as you play, that just becomes a challenge rather than a frustration. I really enjoy the World Riddles games (I own all three) and hope they come out with more of them.

For those who want more, there is another series of games called World Mosaics that involves the same type of logic puzzle. And if you want to play more of these puzzles, check out www.griddlers.net; it's devoted to this puzzle type.

Terrific game for kids, but I think it would be more appealing to 6-10 year-olds -- teenagers might want more action or something more challenging. Good family entertainment. Thanks GGOTD and Funny Bear.

I'm assuming this is just a straight delete for a clean uninstall? Can somebody confirm that for me? If I still had kids in the house I'd definitely keep it but I'm running out of space:)

I like the World Riddles that we got here so much that I got 2 others, which includes this one. I really like these games because they are challenging and I like the way the puzzle allows for hints. The puzzles get more challenging as you move through the countries. I would definitely recommend this series of games. The only thing I would like to improve is the exit from the game. Far too many clicks to exit.

While finally being able to play this game, being in Australie, one of the questions is about which bird is believed to put it's head in the sand when it is scared.

The answer should be the emu.

The game falsely talks about the ostrich which is an African walking bird.

Funny Bear Studio's might correct that in next editions (and please let me choose to start windowed mode or full screen :) ).

..................................Moderator comment...........................

A lot of people believe that Ostritches bury their head in sand to hide, even I believed it when I was young becasue I was told they do my my teachers. However I did read a lot when I was younger and studied zoology at university and was soon persuaded otherwise.

The story that ostriches will stick their heads in the sand when they are frightened is a prevalent one. The idea is that the ostrich will feel perfectly safe and believe that they are completely hidden, so much so that a person can walk up to them and pluck a feather or even capture the bird very easily.

However the story is completely unfounded, as no one has ever seen the bird perform this act. When an ostrich is sights possible danger from a distance they have a habit of dropping to the ground, with their necks parallel to it, watching the suspected predator intently. It is thought that this behaviour might have been misconstrued as stick their head in the ground and gave birth to the well know story. However, when the danger gets too close, the ostrich, like most animals, will take flight and beat a hasty retreat.

Note to developers: puzzle 2-7 isn't solvable unless you assume symmetry in row 2. Apart from that, this seems slightly better than the previous (similar) game, even on Win7 Starter.

The game's default install directory seems to be messed up. It wants to install to c:\program files\pirate stories or some such folder. I just edited the default to c:\program files\world riddles animals, and everything went fine beyond that. The default installation folder seems to depend on what was last installed on your computer.

The installation does not seem to make any changes to the registry and other places outside the install folder. The total size of the game is about 25 MB.

Seems like a fun puzzle game that is different from the usual match 3 and hidden-object puzzles that have been given away in the past. Should keep me busy for the next few days! Thank you.

Rats! Just when I finally completed the Seven Wonders game, and thought I could now get on with my life, along comes another one! :) I love that I can play a game that doesn't involve being shot at or fetching things for a customer (I find real life stressful enough on its own). The logic and strategic play involved also allows me to convince myself that I'm not really just playing a game, I am exercising my mind. Thanks for your efforts; I will be passing the word to friends about this one.

I've played this style of game for years, and have enjoyed it immensely. My favorite site is http://www.griddlers.net . It has the usual square grids, making pictures as you go. It has a sub-domain, http://www.griddlers.net/triddlers , which switches from a square grid to a hexagonal grid, with three sets of clues. Also quite fun.

One thing I miss (compared to some other versions): an option to auto-complete the row/column. Using this one's theme: When you correctly mark all the 'worlds' in a row or column, the game will automatically destroy the remaining tiles. Having to always do both is tedious.

I enjoyed playing World Riddles: Seven wonders from last time. I stopped playing shortly after I got to a level where you *had* to guess - there was no logic available to choose (around the end of 3/beginning of 4). I could make a very GOOD guess by the pattern I was making - but it was still a guess. I could have chosen different tiles, and still matched the clues.

I never thought any game could be great enough to let Suduko take the back seat. An amazing game, an awsome brain teaser & it is very addictive.
I think with all the tecknology we're living in, we need a game like World Riddles to train our minds.
Thank You Funny Bear Studio & GAOTD for today's giveaway ... Now I have all 3 World Riddles.
Funny Bear: Please launch a 4th very soon.
Advice: For all GAOTD Users, "Secret of the ages" is very nice too.
