my room mate & I would have to agree with #13's comment. My Room mate is good @ find a word games (which is hunt-a-word in this game) & was a tad peeved, they give you 4 minutes for the rounds & it took her over 3 minutes to find the 1st word. Now with "jumble" she was beyond being peeved when she said 1 of the words was not a word she ever heard of. So she went lookin for the meaning & it turned out that the way they spelled the word in "Jumble" turns out is "cheifly a British Vulgar slang" word.
The bottom line if you missed this game when it was free you didn't miss anything

Thanks to posters for reference to game timer use. I don't care to add pressure/stress in a game "Click with a mouse in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other" sounds more relaxing that with a timer. For that reason alone, I'm not even giving this game a try.
Take note "Alawar" of this simple option to greatly improve this game.
Thanks ...

I agree the timer should be up to the player. Just allow the player to turn it off.

I teach elementary Special Ed; I downloaded this onto my four classroom computers today and set some kids loose on it. I quickly realized this was folly. It's got some good games, but letters must be clicked on. Most word games of this sort allow you to type the words you find. The words in the word seek were, as one other poster mentioned, strange. The time limits are restrictive, and don't give a lot of think time to children (one kid timed out in the hangman game before he could guess two or three letters). I haven't played with it much myself, but what I saw of it was that the vocabulary is geared toward adults. Most adults I know that play games like this can type a word faster than trying to click on letters on an onscreen keyboard, which is frustrating when you're dealing with a time limit, anyway. I might use the word scramble game with some of my kids in groups, and I won't uninstall it, because I like to have a variety of educational games on hand for my students, but I really don't see them choosing this one if they're given free choice of what to play. There are similar and better versions online that can be played for free.

I was whining for a word game, and was really excited to see this one this morning!
I downloaded and installed it without a problem.
Upon opening it, I was pleased to see that it included 4 different games, but after trying all of them I was disappointed.
I am a scrabble fan and felt that had I been obliged to pay for this I would feel ripped off. The games seemed low budget (like the kind you get on the CD games which say they are offering 55 FULL sized games(but half of them are low budget like these)
The games graphics were ok(except for the wordsearch one which DID use a strange font)
The fact that they ALL had timers was really the last straw.
I and many others have mentioned this a few times; that most people like to have the choice of having a timer or not.
Sure it is great to challenge oneself sometimes but it's nice to relax sometimes too.
Now I think Alawar has MANY wonderful games (and very talented people) but this was not an example.
Uninstalled and looking forward to more interesting picks over the days ahead.
Thanks for letting me try this, GGOTD!

Made numerous attempts at downloading from both sites throughout the morning but canceled them as something seemed wrong. Incredibly slow and that's never happened. Two of my mirror site attempts gave me a "finished" download that was incomplete. Finally got the whole thing in regular expectied time. Installed, activated and plays nicely. I love my Magic Tea game from Alawar. I'm sure I will like this too. Thanks GGOTD! ; )
