Ultimate Puzzles Animals 6:
001

002
In Brief:
This is another of Unidens really simple jigsaws with a 4x4 grid. The previous version 5 was a giveaway August 6th this year HERE; plus, we've received several others over the last year eg Ultimate Puzzles Cats 1 & 2, Dogs 1 & 2, Marine Life 1 & 2, Animals 4 & 5 , Cars Collection, Puzzles Collection, United Kingdom, USA, France & Italy etc. All have similar mechanics and are 4x 4 grid puzzles with square pieces.

You can see a video of game play HERE.
Introduction:
Ultimate Puzzles Animals 6 is a continuation of the puzzle collections about animals. Choose the animal you like and put it forward. Each puzzle is 4x4 in size, but the complication is that the puzzles need to be rotated in the right direction.

Reference accessed HERE 13th December 2021.

The Game:
Each of the seven puzzles are made up of 16 square pieces. which are placed on a 4 x 4 grid i.e. 16 pieces. Most of the pieces are not oriented correctly, so you have to change their orientation by clicking on the piece with the left mouse button. Each click turns the piece clockwise 90 degrees; you can't turn them anti clockwise. To place a piece on the board use the left mouse button, grab then move to the grid section you think it belongs on. If it is correct it will lock in place; if it's the wrong place or you've not got the correct orientation it will move to a random place on the periphery of the jigsaws grid. The addition of rotating the pieces and also placing them in different places each time you attempt to complete the puzzle adds to the difficulty slightly. Also, some pieces will overlap at the start of each attempt and in some cases totally obscure one or more pieces. You can restart any of the puzzles at any time by clicking on the back arrow. Each puzzle is timed, but no scores are recorded when you've completed the puzzle. Once completed you can either try again or return to the main page where you can then select another image to solve.

The puzzles include wild and domesticated animals from the animal, bird and amphibian classes (taxonomy has changed significantly since I was at university studying zoology back in the 1980's, so I'm not quite sure if I've got the correct term anymore?).
Conclusion:
All the puzzles are relatively simple. An adult could easily complete the whole game in around 15 to 20 minutes at the very least. Personally, I think the developer's asking price over on Itch.io, of $5 per puzzle game is well over-priced considering there are only seven puzzle images to solve and each puzzle is only a small 4 x 4 grid with 16 simple pieces. If all of the series were to be combined, it would seem a fairer price. That said, there are 'free' jigsaw programs available online that in my opinion are far better than today's jigsaw puzzle; (okay it's free today).

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found 1 hit (Antiy-AVL) from 57 antimalware engines. I've not seen this one tag Falcoware Games before, but it's still very likely to be a false positive.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that only opens your browser once to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and also places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed).

The installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page following the games installation, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. Once you've installed the game, there are no more browser redirections. This is because Falcoware removed their installer over a year ago (that installer would show an advert for a game and then open your browser each time you played and then closed the game down.)

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Whiterabbit-uk,

Other Free Games:
Please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE {e.g. Crime Cities free for a limited time on GOG} and HERE for the latest non Steam and Steam freebies. Also for the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see 100% off.
Ashampoo-Snap-02-December-2021-02h42m28s-023
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; recent additions include The full version of Die Young; we were previously given the prologue version, (which is still available free) Recent games such as Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner and Contract with the Devil have now been removed. All remaining freebies can be found in the showcase section (around 100 are available). Not all games that go into the showcase remain free, so you should grab them as soon as you can.
The latest Epic games end later today and include Dead by Daylight, a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed. We also get While True: Learn (Data Scientist Edition) - a puzzle/simulation game about even more puzzling stuff: machine learning, neural networks, big data and AI. But most importantly, it’s about understanding your cat.

From later today, we will get Godfall Challenger Edition, (released last year on the 12th November) - Save Aperion. You are the last of the Valorian knights, masters of combat equipped with legendary armour called Valorplates. Ascend in Godfall, a first-of-its-kind, looter-slasher, melee action-RPG the challenger edition includes maximum level unlocks and skills from the outset. We will also be getting the excellent Prison Architect - Welcome Wardens! Only the world’s most ruthless Warden can contain the world’s most ruthless inmates. Design and develop your personalized penitentiary in Prison Architect.

If anyone who got the previous weeks TheHunter: Call of the Wild is interested in playing some coop with me, please leave a message in the thread I posted over in the forums HERE; I'll then contact you via the email you've used for your forum sign in and I'll send you a link to my Discord channel and make some arrangements to play. I've been playing the game regularly since June this year (accruing over 600 hours of game play). I've found playing with friends much more enjoyable.
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best. A more recent addition that is worth checking out are the Fanatical bundles (used to be called Bundle stars)that you can find HERE (thanks Delenn for reminding me of this bundle, I've just recovered my account and found thousands of unused Steam keys listed from various bundles I purchased from 2012 to 2017).
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, which has 95% of almost eighteen thousand 'overwhelmingly positive' reviews on Steam is 100% off HERE temporarily. Grab it while you can. This is an outstanding AAA game, and at the time of release there were very few first person Western themed games available.

Also available free at the moment over on GOG is Cave Story®'s Secret Santa0

As part of Ubisofts 35th anniversary, they are now giving away Rayman Origins; grab it HERE while you can. You do need a free uPlay account to get the game.

p.s. If you are a collector of removed games from Steam. The developer MS Game Studio are closing down their development team due to economic conditions and are removing all of their games from the Steam store from the 16th December 2021, at which time they will no longer be available for sale anywhere. All four games are 90% off until they are removed. I've checked the first two games, a single player game called Bloody Sand : The Gods Of Assyria (£2.37), and a single player/ multiplayer game called North Of Iraq Part 1 (£2.37), and found them both playable and mildly interesting but nothing special. Also available for the last time are Prison 69 (£1.54) which has a content warning being unsuitable for children and Battle Sad Boy (£0.71). The games get mixed reviews via the Steam community. I would say that for the price they are acceptable, but none of the games had anything new or exceptional to offer and in my opinion, are only suitable for those who like to collect games.
