Unfortunately I had problems installing four different downloads of this game today, so have not been able to write a first hand review. The game is only a few weeks old so there are not many user reviews of the game either. Basically it’s a hidden object game. My favourite review site Gamezebo hasn’t even done a review yet. I have managed to find a few images and a brief review below, which will have to suffice. Hopefully the community will fill in the gaps as we progress through the day. The following is the introduction to the game, followed by a brief review from Moby games.

    Quote:

Your distant forefathers kept a secret. For centuries this secret has been passing down from father to son, from the King to the Prince. Most people have already forgotten this old story, and only a few men on the Earth are keeping this ancient mystery alive. YOU are the heir to this legacy! YOU have to discover the secret of your ancestors, a secret kept from you until this very day!
However, it turns out that your legacy is just one key. One key to one room…

The Mysterious Past of Gregory Phoenix is a game full of adventure, in which you will have to travel in space and time to answer questions about yourself, your past, and your role in the future. There is a mystery that will take you to all corners of the Earth, and wrapped up in that mystery are the answers to your questions.

Go ahead! Find out who you are! Your destiny awaits you!

    Mini Review from Moby Games:

While searching the house inherited from his grandfather, Gregory learns about his family links with a magical armor from medieval times. The armor was disassembled by an evil wizard, and the pieces scattered throughout the world. Gregory and his friend Rachel must travel around the globe to recover all the missing parts and restore the ancient family heirloom.

The Mysterious Past of Gregory Phoenix is a hidden object game with elements from the adventure genre. Most of the time, the objective is to find and click on all the items listed on a semi-circular device at the bottom-right of the screen, on locations around the planet. Some of the objects are only revealed when using a special gadget, like infra-red goggles, spectrometers, x-ray visors and other helpful tools. These gadgets and other objects are stored in the inventory, accessible through a spanner button at the bottom interface. The objects, like keys and other items, can be dragged and dropped from their inventory slots to solve puzzles and perform actions, like unlocking doors and chests. Clicking on certain portions of the scenery brings up a window with another angle of the scene, showing a closer view of the contents of holes and other containers.

After completing a scene, the player receives a rune key that can be used to unlock new locations. Some places have puzzles where a mechanism has to be manipulated directly to solve it, like tile-sliding puzzles and similar challenges. In the armory, the objective is to collect all the pieces of a armor portion, shown as a drawing at the bottom.
