If you got extra hardware laying around and are tech. minded when I was on "dial-Up" I hook-ed up two modems since at my house my parents had one line and I had another I would use my line on one 56k internal modem and late at night when other phone line wasn't being used I would hook it up to thier phone line and get double speed. It was great. I did read at least one person mention he has dial up and two phone lines so if you have an older computer laying around or just buy a cheap external or internal modem(if you have room in computer) and plug in both phone line this is a cheap way to double your speed. This worked on WinXP Second Edition With MSN Dial up and one internal and one external modem. Also, ppl that say they don't have money to pay for cable or dsl. There is tons of Dsl for as little as 9.95 US and you get 10x speed. Plus if you check around a lot of us spend money on things you can really do without like 3.95 coffees when you can make at home or pack of cigs at 5.00 a pop, if you just check into your expenses you might be surprised, like my aunt says she cant afford it and pays for her daughters dial up but she has 3 phone lines in her house!(BTW, Doesnt need or use em all) I tell here that dropping one line alone would pay for the service!!! But I do feel for the ones that are truly strapped for money or cant get service to them! But I didn't have cable or dsl for long time so I know how you feel! Take care all!

I am more than a little disappointed at the comments written by some obviously deadfully self centered people whose opinions seems to be bugger all the rest as I am all right. My parents taught me very good manners and it's a great pity that yours did not.

I don't know if all of the other dial up users agree with me here but I only managed to download 68% of eXtiction and so missed out on it. Now today we had a lot of phone calls in which cut me off on top of having fallen asleep in front on my PC so today so far have only managed to download 47% of SpacceInterceptor and I really wanted to get this game. I wish that GAOTD Team would give us 2 days in which to download these really large downloads. It's not fair that we miss out just because we can't afford to have broadband or live in an area where it isn't available. Could we please have 2 days for this one and other large downloads? please???

Josh... I had the same problem.

After taking out the Cyclotron, try skipping skip past the Spaceport and do some damage over where the force fields are. You can't miss it. That's the only way I was able to complete the mission.

Or you could just go around taking out defenses and whatever enemies you can pick off before going after the mission objectives. Just keep in mind that once you've come close to your target (if doing in order), the game won't let you stray too far. So, if you're taking on the Cyclotron, you'll have to stick around and get the job done.

When you're told to go to the spaceport, go to where the forcefield generators are and do some damage there first. If you want, go blow some stuff apart around the Spaceport before you head to the Cyclotron to make things a bit easier.

Every little bit helps.

Wow, this game is awesome really. The quality of this free game is unmatched compared to other free games I've played from here. The only huge problem for me is I can't play it windowed (anyone know how to?). That's about it, graphics are great, sound is great, the entire thing is a very professional package.

No need to hurl insults back and forth, guys...

Finished the game. I didn't bother to time how much gameplay I got out of it, but the fact that I got through it under a day shouldn't turn people away. There's plenty of games you can complete in a day, as opposed to weeks or even months. That doesn't make it a bad game nor does it neccessarily make it inferior to titles that are better known.

Some games simply don't work well if they drag on for a long time, and I think this is one of them. I wouldn't mind a bit more, but I don't think I could sit through dozens of missions. Maybe, but Space Interceptor would need more than just more missions to make it worth sitting though a lot more than the 21 missions already present.

The page linked to has nothing on it (maybe it's just me), so I can't tell what other info there might be about the game; it seems that there could be more to the story (there is one, nothing deep but there is more than 'shoot all the bad guys'). If there were a sequel or add-on, I'd probably be interested. Quite frankly, there isn't much as far as replay value goes, aside from playing through on a higher difficulty or porgressing through the missions with a different emphasis on your upgrades, say maxing speed out before defense or attack power.

I had no problems using the default mouse and keyboard controls. But of course, what works for me might not work for you. Yeah, it could have used a bit more variety in the missions (mission 18 was the only variation on the floy around and blast the bad guys scheme), the comments other pilots make and the musis, but it wasn't all that bad. The only negative thing I can find is that the others out there with you aren't a lot of help, at least until you get an assist from "Wonder Boy" later in the game. I wonder if the same holds true on the other difficluties (I started on easy)?

Oh, and a better ending would be nice, too.

All said, this is a decent game. A welcome change from what we can get most of the time here.
