Lockett (#37), you are welcome..:). I saved the shortcut to your website on my desktop; will check it out sometime later on. ;)

Kalmanizer (#39), you are welcome. Your review was just fine, I think. Don't worry about 'competing' with other reviewers; they have their style, while you have yours - do yours like you did today..:). Think of it this way - don't focus on what you feel you can't do, but instead think of what you can do; think positive, instead of negative...:). Like LeKanaw (#43) said, "stop putting yourself down, you did good!"

To my previous post, there is a small, (and slow) video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqshTk-4h-A in case you forgot what Lemmings is like, but this level is only the first and easiest level.

Thanks

Hello everyone!

I have not had a chance to download this game yet, as I just got home, but skimming through the comments, I noticed several references to lemmings, so I wanted to post this before it is too late. I loved Lemmings when I was younger, challenging, and addictive with simple and concise controls. The problem is that the Lemmings, Tribes, and the like do not run well on modern systems, however, there is a free open-source version called Pingus, (named after the Linux mascot) that I highly recommend. It has the same type of gameplay, but better graphics, sound, some different abilities (like jumping), a built-in level editor ( Whiterabbit, I know you love these), and also supports multiplayer. It is fun, challenging, and addictive, plus there are different level sets, and original graphics. Unfortunately (to my knowledge), there is no support for MAC, Windows only, but it is an EXCELLENT game, in my opinion, and can be downloaded from here:

http://pingus.seul.org/download.html

Anyways, hopefully some people will see this and give it a try before it gets too late.

Thanks

@11-Pirelli: Thank you very much for the You Tube link. :-)
We can at least understand what we are supposed to do!

@17/24-kalmanizer: Thank you for your review and for the on-line game link :-) And, stop putting yourself down, you did good! ;-)

As always, Thank You W.Rabbit for helping us. You are the Best!
I learned to rely in your reviews, I dismiss the "thumbs up/down" vote count. People vote without downloading or playing w it, it's of no help!
Cheers everybody! M.

Reality check.

http://www.arcadetown.com/ww2pacificheroes/game.asp
Look at those screen shots and realize that the game mentioned has to have decent enough flight physics, adequate 3D scenery, and a half way decent AI for the opponents.

Compare it to this 'game'.
The music is the usual techno crap that one can expect when it's made by someone who is barely old to have to shave.
The graphics are either made by someone who has no drawing skill and doesn't care, thinks he has skill or thinks it's cool to look as if his 4 year old brother drew it.
It has funky, in a bad way, controls.

The only things the game I mentioned and this offering share are that both are shareware and both ask for 19.95 USD.

Judging the game on the intro, screenshots and website is not by definition a bad thing. Anyone with a bit of experience and lots of gaming experience can make a distinct and pretty accurate guess if something will have decent animation, graphics, playability as well as determine if the programmer has any actual skill. E.g.: a game like this needing a download of 16 MB is rather telling. And no, it isn't that I have a 8086 PC nor that I only have a 80 MB HD (in fact I have a combined total 460 GB HD available)

For what it's worth however, I don't bother with the entire thumbs up or down. To often you can see that the entire thumbs voting gets rigged by the makers, friends and family, of the game/software that it has rendered it useless. To often you see +80% thumbs up for something that is bug ridden, unstable and bad.
