Not only does this game install easily and play easily, but it is beautiful too. The way the backgrounds fade from daytime into night is soothing and then the night scene morphs into another. Yes, I wish I was savvy enough to play with the music files, I have to leave it very low to tolerate more than 10-15 minutes. But all-in-all. I find it very enjoyable and will be replacing my current solitaire game with Solitaire Epic.

Thanks for this great game Kristanix, I appreciate your generosity and look forward to more beautiful games from your company.

GGotD, as always - many thanks.

@#52 Diane with all respect what you are writing not to place it in the Program Files especially under Vista is incorrect.
Vista controls all programs no matter what directory you place it in.
All is very easy with Vista just rightclick with your mouse and check the box to run the program as administrator.
There is a faulty registration method used by Kristanix that it does not install properly.

As for freeware that "phones home", that is the equivalent of spyware/hijacker behavior and it's enough to make me avoid freeware from the guilty software producer!

Installed easily on both my XP and Vista machines. Although my favorite solitaire game is Spider, I was so impressed by the realistic quality and beauty of the graphics in MahJongg Epic that was given away here recently, I HAD to try this one too.

People who donate software for Giveaways multiple times, deserve some kind of special recognition or extra thanks.

As for the price, here it's a level playing field between the giveaway and similar freeware programs.

Strange to see people complain about prices when the price here is unbeatable!

#51 - Chris - there IS an option to turn off the music. Just go to the Options and slide the volume to 0. That's what I did - no music. You can turn down the sound effects volume as well. Like Mahjongg Epic, it's a bit noisy!

I wonder if the memory error some are reporting are because of where it is placed. These games should NEVER be placed in Program Files especially under Vista. There are security restrictions there and keeping the stats and records can require admin authority.

If I can avoid it, I never install anything in Program Files. I have my own folder designated for that purpose. It's much easier to keep track of what YOU install yourself.

I love it!!! finally a game for the whole family. The only recommendation I could make is the game needs a option to turn off the music.

Hi all, besides the accurate placing of the cards Klondike made a false alarm, stating that there was no move left when it wasn't. Fortunately it let me continue playing and finish the game successfully.
This is a no go.
I like the look, but I want to trust the AI in a card game... Thanks anyway.

Although I was hoping for more variety in the bundle, the gameplay is simple, clear and easy to play. I highly reccommend this for kids or people who want a break from "thinking". The game loaded and installed without a glitch and I was playing within seconds of downloading.

I love card and puzzle games so even if I find this particular game pack to be a little tame, I really appreciate the fact that it's being offered today. Thank you to Kristanix and GGOTD.

Still enjoy Tripeaks from years ago, but have the original on my computer, so don't think I'll download this pack; although free IS a nice price :)

[Whiterabbit, I have the version of the Tripeaks game that runs on Windows XP if you want. (I had to copy hidden files as well to have it run properly for me on XP). If not, s'okay. Still one of the games I use to waste time while defragmenting, etc.]

Thank you to Kristanix Games and GGAOTD for today's great offering - I love card games! The dsl download/setup took about 3 minutes total on my Windows XP System, and plays without any problems.

Thanks to Stephen-WR wonderful review, and to the others for their comments - otherwise, I might have passed this one up today! I agree that the music is a bit much! Thanks.

I have the same problem as #22 and #33: Windows Vista
When I want to start the game it says:

(5) unhandled memory exception error

The first time it worked good. Second time: error.
After reinstallation: first time good, second time: error.

Can't fix it. :-(

Hi Local comment #30, I used to give a warning about the browser opening but don't always remember to do so now. However I must say it's nothing like a browser hijack ..... that’s when your normal browser settings are changed so that when you next log on, you are taken to the new site that has hijacked your browser.

The usual security rating systems WOT and McAfee site advisor give Gametop a green rating, so I decided unless I think about it, it's not so important to post this information. Apart from the brief annoyance of your browser being opened when you first install the game and whenever you turn the game off, there is nothing else untoward happens. All it takes is a simple click of the mouse on the x to close your browser. There’s no residual effect, no extra registry entries, or more hijacks. If I thought for one moment that the addresses I'd posted linked to malicious sites they would not be posted.

I do apologize though if you feel aggrieved by my omission. I'll try to remember next time.

Regards

Stephen

btw - Bone comment #32 nice comment; it really tells me a lot about the game - remember, not everything free is worth aving, though thankfully today's game is. :)

This is a great little game. Nice backgrounds and soothing, though repetitive music. Once you reach a point where it's an obvious win a button pops up to do an automatic finish. I may not keep this one because I already have so many solitaire games (just can't keep my finger off that download button). But if you don't already have one go for it.....it's a nice game. Thanks GGOTD.

Good little game. Nice time waster. The music gets a little annoying but you can turn that down. #27 - Terry Pardy mentioned how picky it is about the placement of the cards but I didn't see it as a big problem, I just had to be careful when placing cards on the board.

I can see playing this when I have 30 mins. to kill but I can't see playing it for hours at a time. :( It doesn't hold my interest that long. And, as mentioned earlier, with only 3 games to choose from it could get boring in the long run. I will keep it around for now, you never know, it might grow on me. :)

I've really not much to say about this game, it's patience (solitaire)

I do have a request for Whiterabbit though.
I, as many on this site, appreciate your efforts and wonderful reviews and find them informative, interesting and helpful.
All I ask is, when you link to the free games at Gametop, could you please just add a warning?

I know you don't mind but I nelieve that others like myself would like a heads up on the "phone home" at every exit.
It's a little too close to browser hijacking for my liking.

Other than this
Thank you Giveaway for all the great games (I have almost all since I found the site)
and thanks to Whiterabbit for the great reviews and help

Nice little game. Was hoping to put it on my old laptop (running WIN 98 and no internet connection)for my GS to work on his matching skills. Sadly, I get the same error as #22 when I try to run it from the disc I burned for that purpose. Oh well, I can always let him use my laptop if I'm not already using it!!! :).

Thumbs up. Keep 'em comin'!

I have several solitaire games including an older version of Solitaire Master. However, given Kristanix's prior game offerings, I had to try. It's a nice game. The Match is a cross between solitaire & Mahjongg.

It worked fine on my 32 bit Vista Ultimate SP1. I'll keep it.

The one flaw - Match is a strange game and the rules are not clear. It took a bit of fiddling to figure out how to continue the game. A better help could be offered but for free, it's worth a little time playing!

I's free bur I have to agree with #20 plus the fact that the registration does not work properly just like last weekend's offering from Kristanix Mahjong Epic it will not load after a couple of hours play.
Why ? in Vista's ProgramData directory Kristanix makes a directory under the same name (Kristanix /Solitaire Epic) and in that directory there is a file config.ini and if you read it the third line REGISTRATION= is totally empty that's exactly the same as last week with Mahjong Epic and if you wanht to play the game after a couple of hours it does'nt start the game any more because it cannot load the config.ini file.
I allways install as the readme asks, and with IE and as administrator
but that does not work either.
Thanks anyway GAOTD but I'll pass on the games from Kristanix.

OK enough solitaire game, once you turn off the godawful music. So-so graphics with no ability to change cards or background. The one advantage seems to be to be able to make up your own games with the editor. For the same money one can buy solitaire games with far more choices, e.g. Hoyle.

As a Klondike implimentaion it is pretty poor with no auto-play on obvious moves and its selection of the destination pile requires far too accurate positioning to make it pleasurable to play. The bundled "Solitare" that comes with XP and above is far more user friendly to play! The other two modes are better but only because there is no drag and drop component.

I see there are still people whinging about games that may not be as good as others that you buy . For heaven's sake! IT'S FREE! I have collected quite a few of games from this site and play them frequently. They give me lots of pleasure. Sometimes the game offered is not to my taste so I don't download it! It's as simple as that. If you don't want it don't download it and DON'T WHINGE HERE!. Be grateful for all the hard work that goes into giving us these gamed for free. When you go into a shop to purchase a game, you don't buy them all, only the ones that interest you.

I see there's also a screensaver offered also today.... I'm sure there will be more complaints from people who don't like screensavers....GET OVER IT.

Thak you GGOTD for all you do to bring us these games.

A nice game: downloaded easily, installed easily in XP, inoffensive. An excellent choice for teaching matching skills to those with challenges. Predictable play, games start at a very basic level and do not progress to a level that is too frustrating. Scenic background shifting may prove annoying to some.
