I left 2 comments earlier about not being able to install. This evening, I tried turning off my firewall & anti-virus temporarily & this time the game installed fine. I've never had to do this before for GGOD (including both of last weeks offerings). I don't know if it was a change in your wrapper, an update to my Norton Security or just a whim of fate.

probably a combination of all. :)

Looked like a fun simple game, and I have downloaded at least one of the Wheemplay games previously, but Norton SONAR blocked this one saying that setup.exe was performing "suspicious" activities.

All game giveaways are rigorously tested using several premium security softwares. Out of the 3462users that have downloaded this software you are only the second to mention this problem. It's almost certainly a false positive.

I totally stink at these games but the graphics are cute so I decided to give it a whirl. Downloaded to XP & 7 and I stink equally on both, lol! But it's a fun time waster. I can see my son and I having battles to see who is better, ok worse!
Thanks for giving us your time so we can waste ours :-)

Cute game. love the concept. Sort of like "The Incredible Machine". Now there is a game I would pay to get. (Again).
Thanks GameGAotD for another winner!

Downloaded this game to stop my 12yr old son maxing out my internet. I like Angry Birds but this seems to be better for little children so I know there will be arguments now over who has a turn. I like the cannon and sight as it makes it easier to aim. Puzzles are not too hard for them to figure out either so I don't need to be interrupted every five minutes. Cute touch having the skeleton smile and wave as well lol. Thank you for this giveaway, I'll definitely be keeping it.

It runs fine under Win7 64. It is indeed quite simular to recent GameGAotD, with a dol.

fun for me
Would have preferred a text hint rather than have video, had to watch too many levels to find hint needed for current level stuck on.

s'okay. i'm not much of a fan of this type of game, but it seems to be about what one would expect. i don't know if it's the genre or the game, but it is disconcerting (to me) that the skeleton vanishes when you shoot the next one - probably has to, because the screen would fill up with bones otherwise.
overall, a nice example of the genre, but *yawn* for me.

Mac version downloaded and installed but nothing appears after the initial screen. i.e. level 1 is blank and no other levels available. Suspect it might be unable to run on Lion.?

The game looks like it might be fun, but it won't run on my Win7 Ultimate 32-bit OS. I even tried an exception for DEP and running as admin but everything visible stops after the Wheemplay logo. I'm just left with its black window. (Tried a second download/unpack with no change in its behavior.)
I just wanted to post this feedback -- no need to help troubleshoot in case you're inclined to do so, thanks anyway. I'm done for the day. :)

works on my Win 7 Ultimate (though 64 bit). It's a flash game, maybe you need to update or install a flash player?

The install path is not the problem. When I click Setup, it brings up the Activating message box, but the game never actually installs anywhere so there is no install path or option for one.

Ah I see. Have you tried downloading the files again? Can't think what the problem could be? 2689 users have so far downloaded this game with no other community members describing this problem yet.

Installed fine on my Windows 7. Fun game for all ages. Thanks

"I think Wheemplay should release a compilation of their best flash games, or maybe release Rabbit Launcher, Pirate Times, Zombie Launcher and Skeleton Launcher as a single game with four different themes, include a levels editor and charge the standard price for a casual arcade game. I’m sure having four themes and the ability to create your own levels would give the game enough interest to sell. Maybe add some mini games in between every five or so levels as well (split a couple of the other Wheemplay games for the fillers)"
I like that idea.
These games are good for a time waster or for the kids. My 5 yr old niece loves these and she is starting to figure them out. If she keeps it up and she learns how to play pool..watch out!
Thanks GGOTD and Wheemplay for a fun game. And Wabbit..get some rest..and Thanks as always!

How come the music in this game is different than the one in the walkthrough? Did they accidentally package the wrong music pack? lool
...................Moderator comment.................
The creator of the video may have added their own music. Using most video authoring tools allows you to add whatever you wish.

I like these kind of games. They are simple and fun and are great little distraction for a short time when you need one.
Plus they almost always work for me which is a big plus.
Thank you.

I've tried several times to unzip the file. Windows, 7-zip, etc says invalid zip file....
Again, a pain in the neck that I do not need.
..................................Moderator comment......................
Try using a different file archiver to unzip the game giveaway eg 7-Zip or J-Zip.

Game doesn't install. Activating message comes up then the setup file just disappears with nothing having happened.
..................Moderator comment....................
Did you check the install path? when I installed the game it tried to install to the last game I istalled, so make sure when you start the installation you note where it's installing to. Usually wheemplay games install to C:\Games. Becasue the executable is installed directly into the game folder you'll find it near the bottom of the folders list of installed games.

If you hadn't seen one of these games before, this would be fun to play for a while, but the number of these that Wheemplay is churning out is becoming monotonous. I gave up about half way through the because I found was looking at stuff in my browser at the same time. I think that showed how bored I had become.
@Whiterabbit, wouldn't you have problems turning the volume down with the graphics chip control. :)
..........................Moderator comment...................
haha... I was being lazy. It was meant to be a global term for the motherboards onboard audio chip (for example Realtek) or an audio card such as the Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum. As for the number being chrned out, you could say the same for any genre of game especially Hidden Object games which are being released virtually every day and time Management games.
I think Wheemplay should release a compilation of their best flash games, or maybe release Rabbit Launcher, Pirate Times, Zombie Launcher and Skeleton Launcher as a single game with four different themes, include a levels editor and charge the standard price for a casual arcade game. I'm sure having four themes and the ability to create your own levels would give the game enough interest to sell. Maybe add some mini games in between every five or so levels as well (split a couple of the other Wheemplay games for the fillers) Each wheemplay game has between 25 to 40 levels, so we'd get well over a hundred if they made up such a compilation. That feels more like a full game. for me these Wheemplay games are just fillers for when I need a quick break from Zombie killing in Dead Island, Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil 5, Working out a strategic plan to accomplish a mission in my favorite military sim (ArmA II), driving a train in my favorite train sim or flying in a WWII battle via one of the several excellent flight sims around these days, lol.

Problems installing, activating and running today’s gamel>:
Skeleton Launcherl>:
Installationl>
The download size is 7.52MB which when installed is 6.93MB. The game unpacks to a dual setup and activation module and a read me file. There is no activation code required as it is automatically activated via the dual activation/setup module. The default installation path is:
C:\Games\
Depending upon whether you've cleared out your cache the game may try to install to the last installation path so make sure you check the path before allowing the game to install. The games executable is installed directly into the computers ‘ games' folder with no folder of its own. There is no shortcut installed or a start menu shortcut. If you're not sure how to create the latter, there's a short tutorial available in the game discussion forums. You'll find it easily as it's in the stickies on the front page of the gaming forum.
The game works on Win XP Pro 32 bit, Vista Home Premium 64 bit and Home Basic 32 bit and Win 7 Pro and Ultimate 64 bit; (these are just the iterations that I personally have, the game should work on all versions) . To delete the game just remove the executable to the recycle bin. (There's no uninstaller).

The Gamel>:
This is similar to three Wheemplay games we’ve had previously called Rabbit Launcher, Pirate Times and Zombie Launcher apart from the actual level designs, where you have to launch an object, in this case a skeleton at an egg that when hit hatches a chick.
The game is very simple. All you have to do is work out the trajectory you think the skeleton will follow by pivoting the cannon up or down. The game is physics based with rag doll effects. Placing the mouse cursor further away from the cannon adds force to the shot. This will be necessary for some shots where you have to remove barriers or shoot over large obstacles.
The game starts in a window, but you can change to full screen by clicking on the maximise button to the top right of the window. You can also turn the game off or minimize to the task bar via the other buttons in this area. There are also pause and reset buttons to the bottom left as well as a toggle for turning off the music and one to return you to the main menu.
The game is okay with colourful graphics (nothing impressive but acceptable and a reasonable number of levels (though it would be nice if there was more or at least a levels edtor). The music gets a little annoying after a while but this can be toggled off if you wish; unfortunately there’s no slider to control the volume unless you use your graphics chips control.. The game starts off easy but gets progressively harder as you work through the levels. Some levels require thought and careful positioning of the skeletons trajectory or thought as to where to hit an object first, whereas others just depend upon speed reactions
The game comprises 40 levels. Once you’ve unlocked a level you can replay it at any time or reset the level progress so that you start from the beginning again. There are online versions of the game available to play for free at Kongregate and Gamesting" rel="nofollow">HERE so you can check whether you think the game is worth installing
Walkthroughs (Videos) l>:
You can see walkthroughs of all levels via two videos (Levels 1-20 and levels 21 to 40) HERE
Conclusionl>:
Despite this game being formulaic it is nonetheless fun to play in short burst. I found it became a little tedious after playing about 15 of the levels, but really enjoyed playing the first several levels.
We have previously been given three others of this type of game, namely Rabbit Launcher, Pirate Times and Zombie Launcher. The game play is very basic and easy, however there is some skill required once you’ve passed the first several levels….hmmm, well….. More like judgment than skill), but even a child could manage this game easily, in fact they would probably prefer this to most adults due to the cartoony graphics. It’s not got a lot of game play but IMO is a nice addition to the type of game you would only want to play for a few moments at a time; maybe in between other more interesting games or during your coffee break at work.
Scorel>:
Gameplay – 6
Graphics - 6
Audio – 4
Replayability – 5
Originality – 5
Total out of 10 = 5.2
Suggestions for the Developerl>:
1) ... Add a level editor
2) ... Include at least 100 levels
3) ... Combine this game with the other launcher style games (Rabbit Launcher, Pirate Times and Zombie Launcher)
4) ... Include some mini games every several levels
5) ... Include a volume control and the ability to include the users own music
6) ... Generally tidy the game up a little (eg spelling errors)
7) ... Add some power ups to make the game a little more interesting
8 ) ... Include achievements and awards
9) ... Include some animated cut scenes and a short story line
Alternative Games both freeware and commerciall>:
Unfortunately Sandlot download section has now closed and all departments are transitioning over to digital Chocolate so we can no longer get the free games they used to give away each week. Realore still offer a game every Friday. This weeks game is Janes Reality a time Management game> You can get it HERE. Alawar have just changed their monthly free game to Birdies another Time Management game. You need to install Alawars GameBox, which you can download HERE to gain access to their free games. I'm not going to recommend downloading games from MyPlayCity (MPC) any longer because they have changed their policy regarding toolbars etc. I installed a couple of MPC games over the last few weeks and both installed an ask tool bar even though I'd unchecked the boxes so as not to have them installed. They used to force you to install them if you wanted to play any MPC games a couple of years ago, then suddenly stopped altogether. Recently they resumed the tool bars and home page hijacks, but didn't force you to install them, however they have now started to install them without your permission. which is a big no no in my book. They have procured some premium games recently, so if you don't mind the Ask tool bar, (that opens up an extra browser window everytime you open your browser), then go ahead and visit their site to see what new games they have on offer.
The free games project tat a few of us run over in the forums has yet more excellent freeware games. Go check out the last few weeks postings that includes Strange Adventures in Infinite Space, several Halloween games such as Trick or Treat, All our Friends are Dead, Candle, Draka, Go to Hell, Euthanasia, Halloween Shooter, Au Sable, as well as more casual games such as Mr Cleaner an excellent and graphically rich Sokoban game, Push Push Penguin, Dizzy, the Lost Island and a couple of Shmups called Darius Gaiden and Vacant Ark, both excellent Japanese space shooters (the Japanese have a knack for these games). You can find all of these games over in the Games Discussion forums on the front page HERE. Unfortunately Caiman games have still not re-opened their download servers; I'll will let you know when they are open. There are several other free games sites all of which have the potential to include tool bars and home pqage hijacks for example Gametop and FreeGamePick to name just a couple.
We've got some massive games to look forwards to on the commercial front for example Skyrim, the fifth Elder Scrolls franchise; (it's already won several awards) is out this coming Friday and for those who love shooters Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is out in three days. Battlefield 3 has been out for about a week now and the latest Sonic game called Sonic Generations was released yesterday.
Oh yeah, before I forget, check the game discussion forums for bundled Indie games. The Voxatron bundle is still available and includes Voxatron, and if you donate above the average amount (under $5), you will also get two more excellent Indie games called Blocks that Matter and The Binding of Isaac; (the latter is the latest creation from the developer of Super Meatboy and Gish). You can find details of the bundle HERE. There's just over 9 days left before the bundle closes.
Steam have two great deals on this weekend. There's 33% to 66% off all Tropico titles (Simulation and Strategy), including the latest one (Tropico 4) which was only released several weeks ago and you can also get 50% off the Sanctum bundle (a first person tower defence game) that includede the main game plus seven DLC's and the music tracks. Finally todays 24 hour deal (ends at 5pm GMT - 9am Pacific time) you can get Doodles are Bugged for 66% off (that's only £2.38/$3.40/2.72 Euro's). You can find all of the Steam deals HERE. If you visit Didamatic you'll find every deal going on the main digital download sites (Steam, Impulse, Direct 2 Drive, GOG and Gamersgate); fr example Oblivion 50% off, Miner Wars 50% off, Empire Total War 60% off, Shogun 2: Total War 83% off, Medieval 2: Total War 92% off, Magika Collection 65% off, Need for Speed Franchise 40% to 50% off, Crysis Warhead 60% off, Virtual Tennis 3 64% off, The Void 64% off, Alice: Madness Returns 43% off, Dragonage Origins: Awakening 33% off, , Tom Clancy Collection 58% plus many more great deals. You can find Didimatic HERE. I'm sure everyone will find something they like from the above links. not all are free, but all are bargains. ;-)
Have a great week folks.
