spent 5 minutes with it, and haven't opened it since.... graphics suck, strange controls, field of view bad... Of course I play WoW, so it's not really fair to compare. I guess you don't get what you don't pay for. Idk, maybe I haven't given it a fair run yet... don't know if I'm interested enough to find out.

I downloaded, installed and patched the game fine. But every time I play after restarted/reboot computer, the software starts the lonr time "Fixes abd Updates" process again.

This game has some many errors on most computers. Unless your system has completly updated video card/graphics card. I wouldn't download it. My computer is kinda old but it can play almost any mmo/online game. This one on the other hand, has errors upon errors. I fix one and another pops up.
Game design=8/10
Game overall=6/10

The only reason I can think of regarding the personal information they ask for is for tournaments, which may include cash prizes. So far, there's only been one tournament that I know of off the top of my head, but that's not to say there won't be more down the road. It's not like Saga's the only game that asks you for information.

Some of what Saga does is to prevent people from abusing the game - especially the market (which isn't without issues already, IMO). Knowing who you are and how many accounts you have is a part of that. There's no need to be paranoid about it. The Saga team doesn't send out spam, and I think it's safe to assume they're not the kind of people who would sell the information to others. They've been helpful when I've contacted them via the support tool or in game on the help channel.

For the most part, the battle server is much more stable. Of course, that doesn't mean that there aren't disconnects, but it doesn't happen anywhere near as often as it has in the past. The developers are in a constant state of working on things, be it new features or squashing any new bugs that may pop up. It doesn't happen overnight, but if you're patient enough to suck it up and deal with Saga's quirks, things will work out.

Now, I can't really offer any advice on issues with Vista. Sadly, Vista doesn't play nice with everything, no matter what you may try. Some people have no problems at all, while some will make no progress whatsoever. Even with similar hardware and the same version of Vista, the results may be inconsistent.

And for the record, this isn't a very violent game. By that, I mean there's no blood and gore. Sure, you have fighting, but it's nothing graphic and when one of your troops "dies" it's not permanent. Really, the majority of games have violence of some sort, though some don't see at as such or may consider some things "acceptable". If you're going to avoid games with any kind of violence, that's going to limit what you play to some puzzle games and a few others.

I won't bother saying anything further about that...

I don't know why people are having issues creating an account. The download can wait, as it's the same client everyone can get. As for the IE "requirement", that's really only for interoperability from the game as far as I know; the game does not rely on IE, it just uses it to access the playsaga site from within the game. I don't have an allergy to all things Microsoft, so it's never really been an issue. I do use Opera and I've been able to log into the main site without any problem.

Is Saga a perfect game? No. But I think it's been well worth the money I have spent (registration and purchasing some boosters). I've played Saga more than I have any of the other games I have installed and it's kept me from getting some stuff done. Simply put, the game us fun. PVP is optional, which is part of its appeal to me; they don't force it on you, nor should they. Boosters help, but you can make it through the game without having to buy any - it'll just take a bit longer if you're relying on the common units, and pvp may be more difficult without a fair amount of faction specific units.

Unzip the package you've downloaded, and carefully read the instructions which you can find in the readme.txt file. This readme.txt file is included with all our downloads. Follow the instructions carefully to install and activate the software.

If you write programs like you write instructions, it's no wonder nobody can get this game to run :( It's a stand-alone installer without any text file! I registered successfully but still cant get the thing to run. I've spent way too much time on this. Goodbye

This seems like a pretty nice game, but I can't seem to get my mouse to work with the program, at least not using this computer, with the Vista OS. It always immediately returns to the top left portion of the screen, and I can only drag it to about mid-screen before it returns. Ah well. Maybe I can find a way to fix this later on in the day when I have more time.

looked for but never found the readme text that was supposed to have downloaded with this game.Took ages to install on a fast machine and then zilch Eventually got to the sign up page and after many attempts to create an account gave up on it as it kept returning errors. Now uninstalled and that is the way it will stay

Downloaded the game in 4-5 hours. Installed or rather tried to install the game. The game needs some sort of 'high' graphic card ability. When I just ignored the message and continued, the comp crashed!! Uninstall the game and unhappy. Please give us something that most people can use,how about Global Domination, been hoping for that game to appear for ages now, but still.. thank you all for the hard work.

Having finally managed to open the game I found that the server constantly disconnected and I couldn't actually do anything. Several attempts later, I managed to log in and access my Nation. If I tried to enter world, the game crashed. Every time without fail. So I tied to delete my nation and was told that, because it was recently created, it could not be deleted until after another week. This means that I have to go through this nonsense all over again in 7 days time, just to not be a part of it anymore, and that this pathetic little app has to stay on my pc when I don't even want it there anymore.
Sorry, but I'm done with SAGA.
First they ask for too many details (why DO you need to know where people live etc?) and then I find the app to be so intrusive that I can't uninstall it until the devs say so.

In addition, why do I need to go through the laborious patch update everytime I try to load this game?
I just fired up to try to fix the graphics problem, as suggested by #141, and, after sometime repatching and what seemed like an eternity of loading time, SAGA encountered an error and crashed.
Can I really be bothered?
I might just go and cancel my account and uninstall this waste of my time. Sorry guys, too much hassle by far.

Saga team, I created a new account yesterday but still have not received a confirmation email so have no booster packs yet. Or did you remove the free boosters from this GOTD version?
Either way, an email to commence my account properly would be appreciated.

Actually, with this being the 2nd day of getting no joy with playing this game, I don't even know that I'm bothered anymore. This is meant to be fun, not intensive labour just to actually get to play the game!

I see some comments that can be answered easily

promo code and security code: ignore the promo code, you do not have to fill this in, the security code it the little box right below that has numbers and letters in it, type those numbers and letters into that field and it will let you continue.

when the page comes up that asks you to buy it, ignore that page, you have it through GOTD you dont need to buy it... at least not today.

Well i downloaded it, installed it, then it started patching with about 6837 patches...and is still going on for over 5 hours, i tried restarting but same thing...this is really getting on my nerves! Any suggestions??

#114 I didn't see anything asking for a promo code, but it does ask for a security code. The security code is the funny writing just below the data entry fields, which is used to prevent bots from entering information. Don't know if this is what you were asking, but there it is. :^)

I need the promo code also, and have checked each one of the text files and any other file associated and still can't find the readme.txt file as instructed on the download page. The instructions are "Unzip the package you've downloaded, and carefully read the instructions which you can find in the readme.txt file. This readme.txt file is included with all our downloads. I downloaded this back in april and have been playing it for a while now. Unfortunately, I just registered my account last week or so, but I did create a second account now with the free giveaway, as having a second registered account won't hurt anything. The game plays well with no real problems for me. I am used to playing beta games, so a few crashes now and then and posting bugs to a forum really don't bother me at all.

In the process of downloading, but when I try to get the manual to browse while waiting, it says "Account Suspended". Huh? A pdf file?

downloaded this program, and it didnt work-> it said my video card wasn't up to date. I have a 2Ghz dual processor with 2 gigs of RAM. I have been waiting for a game like this for along time. I am not sure if this is the actual user interface i ws looking for, but i'll look on. There are something i hear about booster packs and think thats stupid-> poeple shouldnt have advantage with money [bought boosters]; they should have to earn the experience.

Some of you may think this is silly, but I am a Christian and will not lie to get a free game. If I said my name was John Doe, then I would be lying, no matter if I said it out loud to you, or if I wrote it in a web browser. Same with the address. I would prefer not to give out personal information to get an online game. I see no reason to give out my address as SAGA has not said what they want it for, nor what they will do with it.
