The game is Quick Puzzles 2 not the first one. I'm unable to post any original screen captures or post a working review of the game because for me the monitor freezes before you can even see the game appear on screen. I have to Ctrl - Alt-Del to bring up the Task Manager to close the game down as I'm unable to access the task bar once I've started the game via it's shortcut.

I've tried various compatibility settings, but the game continues to freezes up the monitor every time before the game appears on screen, but you can see the game in the Task Managers Apps List (you may not be able to access the task manager if you only have the one monitor?). If you have a multi monitor set up, you can access the other monitors task bars.

Quick Puzzles:
In Brief:
This is another puzzle from GameRea, who has previously given us the jigsaw puzzles Old Paintings, Grim Puzzles, Street Art Puzzles, Fantastic Puzzles 2021, Terrible Puzzles, Old Canvases 1, 2 & 3 and Winter Moods. Quick Puzzles, as the name implies is a much smaller puzzle compared to previous puzzles we've had from GameRea, with only 25 piece's on a 5x5 grid. There are fifteen puzzles to solve. The introduction to the game below basically tells you all you need to know about the game. It's not a jigsaw, but a swap the tile puzzle.

You can see a video of game play HERE.

Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found 2 hit/s (VBA32 & Jiangmin) from 59 antimalware engines. These two are amongst only several antimalware suites that often tag Falcoware Games compared to most better known and more reliable antimalware engines; so, it's very likely to be a false positive.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that only opens your browser once to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and also places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed).

The installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page following the games installation, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. Once you've installed the game, there are no more browser redirections. This is because Falcoware removed their installer over a year ago (that installer would show an advert for a game and then open your browser each time you played and then closed the game down.)

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; recent additions include Pixel Puzzles 2: Christmas ( a traditional style jigsaw puzzle game), North (asylum seeker game), Snowball (A more "discovery-based" approach to pinball. Learn the secret rules of the board to access hard to reach places and rack up HUGE SCORE BONUSES, which are generally agreed to be more important than any other current event in the real world) and the full version of Die Young (you play as Nehir, a field agent of a well-known political party. The party's agenda is to deconstruct and eliminate Brother n.1, the leader of Island's community); we were previously given the prologue version, (which is still available free) Recent games such as Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner and Contract with the Devil have now been removed. All remaining freebies can be found in the showcase section (around 100 are available). Not all games that go into the showcase remain free, so you should grab them as soon as you can.

Over the Christmas period Epic games are giving away a mystery game EVERY DAY . Each day, the new game will go live at 11am Eastern/4pm UK time each day. The deals are live for 24 hours only, so check the site everyday HERE to see if it's a game you fancy.
I'm going to leave each days game showing so that you can see what was available previously:
Shenmue 3 usually £24.99 - 16th to 17th December.
Neon Abyss usually £15.99 - 17th to 18th December
Remnant: From the Ashes usually £31.99 - 18th to 19th December
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter usually £15.99 - 19th to 20th December
Loop Hero (£12.49) - 20th to 21st December
Second Extinction (£19.49) - 21st to 22nd December
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden previously given away 2020 - (£29.99) - 22nd to 23rd December
Vampyr, (£34.99) - 23rd to 24th December - this is live at the moment - A third person atmospheric, open world adventure RPG where choices matter. London, 1918. You are newly-turned Vampyr; Dr. Jonathan Reid. As a doctor, you must find a cure to save the city’s flu-ravaged citizens. As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal. Will you embrace the monster within? Your actions will save or doom London.
If anyone has TheHunter on Steam; or who got the game via Epic when it was free some weeks ago) and is interested in playing some co-op with me (include Second Extinction in that offer), please leave a message in the thread I posted over in the forums HERE; I'll then contact you via the email you've used for your forum sign in and I'll send you a link to my Discord channel and make some arrangements to play. I've been playing the game regularly since June this year. I've found playing with friends much more enjoyable. If you are new to the game and are maybe shy online, then I will help you get to grips with the game I've always been quite shy when online and always treat people with respect. I don't swear and conversation is usually just about the game. If you only have the base game, when playing coop with me you will still be able to join any of the 11 reserves and explore them. Any thing you unlock while in my server will be saved and added to the reserve if you later decide to purchase those reserves you don't have that you've played in coop.
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be) where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best. A more recent addition that is worth checking out are the Fanatical bundles (that used to be called Bundle Stars) that you can find HERE.

Cave Story®'s Secret Santa is still available free over on GOG; when I first posted this over a week ago, it wasn't actually available; you will need to revisit the page to claim the game if you tried grabbing it last week).

p.s. I have one spare Steam key for each of the following games for Siberia 2 (Adventure game), Solitairica (CLAIMED) and Endless Fables: The Minotaur's Curse (CLAIMED) which I'm offering to the first person to ask for one. Only one per community member. First to ask gets the key. Please check Steam to see if the game will interest you first.

Agno,

Hi Agno, really sorry, someone asked for it yesterday. I've been so busy, so hadn't though to check and remove it from todays comment. (I didn't get to bed until 9am this morning and slept until late afternoon; then, went out Christmas shopping, then on returning early evening was playing coop games with some friends, which we do every Thursday, so I've not had any time to check todays comments until now (almost 4.30am) . I posted todays comment yesterday early morning.

I've sorted some games you may find interesting; Let me know if any of the following appeal and I'll email you one Steam code for it.

Overlord - Atmospheric third person Action RPG, open world with dark humour

Torchlight - Isometric action RPG, with Hack & Slash elements - Steampunk.

Dead In Bermuda - A survival RPG sim with resource management.

World's Dawn - Farming Simulation

The Flame in the Flood Post - apocalyptic action survival rogue like game

Tiny Tales: Heart of the Forest - Casual HOG

Programmin Tech,

The above games were only offered to Agno after he/she had asked for a previous game that was claimed on Tuesday called Endless Fables: The Minotaur's Curse; I was not offering those keys to the community at large. This was to avoid disappointment at not receiving their first choice and because I had neglected to remove the game from the list after it had been claimed by the first person to ask for it.

Also, to be clear, I'm only offering one key per community member. I only have one key, not multiple keys for each game.

If you are interested in one, check out the list I've posted at the end of the latest game giveaway (Friday) second comment where I've listed several Steam games I'm giving away to the first claimant.

Downloaded, installed and runnng fine for me in Win10HomeX64. The photos are nice and sharp as you can see in the video above. A fun test of recall as once the picture scrambles, there are no hints and you are working totally from memory. Each one is 25 pieces and allows for a nice quick play when you want that.

Thank you to the GameREA and GOTD teams and to Whiterabbit for all your efforts.

Happy and Safe Holidays to all!

I had no problems running this game. I didn't have to make any compatibility changes.

Win10 4-bit 20H2

I did install it to a different drive than my system drive and it did trigger a controlled folder access attempt during the install that I did NOT allow. (None when running the game, just the install)

As for the puzzles themselves, the other 49 or 60 piece puzzles they gave out before were more challenging, but this looks like a bit of fun for a fairly short time on each puzzle.

jb,

Thank you for your feedback jb, appreciated.

I'm running a script at the moment that adds all of the free games available on Steam via SteamDB. This may be conflicting with the game as I 've also had issues playing quite a few (but not all) of my Steam games since running the script.

The SteamDatabase lits over 13 thousand free game son steam and the script adds 50 games every hour (Steam 'rate limits' adding games to your account to 50 every hour, so I've had it running since Monday evening and have added loads of free games that are better than some paid for games on Steam.

There are thousands of decent free games available via Steam, though when you use Steams own filters to list all the Steam games, only a small fraction will be shown. I will be posting details of how to do this over in the forums sometime soon.

"... it did trigger a controlled folder access attempt during the install that I did NOT allow."

FWIW... Monitored in my Win7 32-bit VM, installation adds the games folder with "20M.txt", a web site [URL] shortcut, the game itself, & 2 uninstall files. As usual, 4 URL shortcuts & 4 .ico [icon] files are added to Program Files [or Program Files (x86) in 64-bit Windows] along with several shortcuts added to the desktop. The Edge browser adds 22 files to sub-folders inside the Users folder. Edge also adds several registry entries, while the game itself adds an uninstall key. On 1st run 1, 1KB file is added: C:\Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Local\ Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\ imagestore\ z2g428s -- the registry just gets normal Windows stuff, like a bunch of Most Recently Used [MRU] entries.
