Again, Turtle Odyssey 2 is better.

To Lockett:

You have yet again missed the point altogether, Lockett, because you refuse to acknowledge behaviors you exhibit on a daily basis here, and things you have said, while ignoring my points by responding with an endless stream of rhetoric and general nonsense. Since you are incapable of being civil I am officially done with you.

Oh and I don't hate you, I just think you're a prime example as to why certain people should never use the internet.

To everyone else:

I am doing you a favor by recommending you ignore all further comments by Lockett. This person visits GGOTD presumably not for the games, but to downtalk others and spread around misinformation. Take Lockett's comments with a metric tonne of salt.

I love the Turtle Odyssey series! I love platformer games, they sort of remind when the first Mario games came out (I'm so dating myself here). My nephews also love them which means it keeps them busy when they visit if I need to do something else! These games are gems (although I liked 2 better than 1) and I hope they make a 3rd one. Thanks GGOTD for the great games!!!!

nancee #43- you cannot transfer a program to another computer. you must download and install the program on the computer(s) that you want to use them on within the "limited" time period. after that the program is yours, unless disaster strikes.

i hope this helps.

Well, I had the same problems as many others with regards to running it in Vista. There will be no review from me today.

>xxx

"This is why I can’t stand your comments Lockett. You are rude to people for no reason"

Rude? Who's being rude?

"and on top of that you act as if you know what you’re talking about, which judging by your comments, you clearly do not."

In my experience, I have never played a platformer with a mouse and found it easier. Neither has anybody whom I know. You "act is if you know what you're talking about" when you really have no "research" on my opinions. I suppose that a mouse could be fine for an incredibly easy(I'm assuming this based on its sequel) game like this, but, for the most part, mouse control is(for me) unnecessarily vague in platformers, and will get you killed.

Why do you show a special hatred towards me, xxx? What have I done to you?

"If some kind person could answer me this question - my children have my old computer which cannot be connected to the internet - is there any way of putting the games i download here on to that computer by copying the files - and if so how - where do i find an install type file once it has been install on my computer through the internet connection?"

First, insert a disk into your disk drive(D:). Then, open Windows Explorer(the desktop icon says My Computer), open the hard drive(C:), and open Program Files. If you installed the game to the default directory(I'm assuming that you did), click on the Realore folder and copy it to the disk(press Control+C to copy it, then go to drive D: and press Control+V to paste it onto the disk). Congratulations, you now have the game on a disk. From the disk, it should be possible to install and run it on your kids' computer. Load the disk on your kids' computer and copy all contents to the Program Files folder. Open Windows Explorer, open the hard drive (C:), open Program Files, open Realore, open Turtle Odyssey, and run unins000. If you are only given the option to uninstall, close the uninstaller, right-click on game, select Send To, and select Desktop (create shortcut). Now close or minimize all open windows, so you can see your desktop. Chances are that Windows will have stuck (Shortcut) on the end of the Turtle Odyssey icon name - to remove it, right-click the icon, select Rename, and delete that part of it. If all went well, your kids will now be able to play it on their computer.

I hope that my advice was helpful!

I don't have very long to figure this out...I am running Vista hp & I always have to use the mirror link as the main one will never connect.
After the glowing reviews I was looking forward to trying this game. it downloads, unzips, registers & installs seemingly fine. But when I try to run the game I get fractured graphics that look like a slid puzzle & strings of the alphabet. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling with no change. :(

P.S. the music seems to work ok...

I played Turtle Odyssey 2 when it was offered last week, and it was fun, but there's one side effect not mentioned in the documentation. The hero is so cute that my girlfriend is now saying she wants a turtle! I hold you responsible, GGOTD!

Well this website works as i downloaded turtle odessey 2 but did not relaise i also had to install it in the time limit so brought it (and three other games! If i had know turtle odessey one was to be offered i probably would have saved my money for something i need more than a computer game!)
If some kind person could answer me this question - my children have my old computer which cannot be connected to the internet - is there any way of putting the games i download here on to that computer by copying the files - and if so how - where do i find an install type file once it has been install on my computer through the internet connection?

Thank you so much for offering version 1, again! I downloaded version 2 and missed the offering of version 1. Version 1 downloaded and setup within 5 minutes on my Windows XP, with no program issues either. While version 2 did make visual and game play improvements, the version 1 levels that I have played so far are very fun, too. In version 2, 'secret places' can be found, as in version 1, but after jumping off a ledge there was no 'secret', just a loss of life. Also, when you come to a treature chest, you do not need to chase coins! Finally, I am able to 'jump' using my mouse, but by clicking the right-button and still move just fine with the arrow keys. Thank you so much Realore and GAOTD!

Thanks xxx, I was just going to respond to #20 Lockett... I have Turtle Odyssey 2 from Real Arcade and I use my mouse. I really do not like using my keyboard. Lockett obviously does not know what he/she is talking about. It is so much easier for me to use a mouse in all the game platforms.

">Kat

“Can you use a mouse?”

Well, you can in the menu. It doesn’t control Ozzy, though. Anyway, why would you want to play it with the mouse? That kind of control scheme just doesn’t work with this kind of game."

LMFAO

Refer to Turtle Odyssey 2 to see why you are wrong. Also refer to Super Cow, Turtix, and Snowy Treasure Hunter 3. Do you even bother to research things before you make ignorant generalizations such as "That kind of control scheme just doesn’t work with this kind of game."? I guess not, since controlling a platformer with the mouse not only works, but it actually makes things easier for certain games!

This is why I can't stand your comments Lockett. You are rude to people for no reason, and on top of that you act as if you know what you're talking about, which judging by your comments, you clearly do not.

Turtle Odyssey 2 is better, and I'm not sure why this one was offered second. Try it if you want.

Hi Folks. Just my two cents on this one.

My very FIRST thought was "Oh GOD, not another kids game!!!" I figured I would try it anyway. Download and installation went fine on my system... Vista Home Premium 32 bit. After the download I figured I would launch the game and see what all this fuss is about... after all what grown man would play a turtle game for any amount of time? So I launched it... the next time I looked up it was about an hour later. Yes, sadly.. I am addicted to the turtle. Welcome me to your club.

The graphics are A excellent... I would say the sound is about a B with the music being another A. DEFINITELY worth the download for any age. Would I buy it? No. Should you buy it? If you have kids or really like this kind of game (platform) or are not cheap like me... then yes.. Yes.. YES.

P.S. My mouse works fine with this. I don't really understand why others are having problems. I left click, he jumps.

Thanks Realore and as always, thanks GGOTD.

The graphics in this game certainly are gorgeous. The colouration is nuanced and visually appealing. I like the little flourish of the turtle's bow and sumersault as he prepares to exit a level.

It downloaded and installed on my Vista (Home Premium 32 bit) quite nicely and plays well with my NVIDIA 6500. Sometimes older games don't play well with more modern hardware, but that is not the case here.

I like these simpler games that don't involve shooting people or blowing things up. Unlike Chromacrash, I don't think I'll get bored with this one.

If we're going to reveal our age and reminisce, who remembers Lemmings for DOS?

Another good one from Realore, Thank You very much! Although this is my dreaded keyboard game, lol, with BuBBy's help with the Xpadder, I am being more adventurous! Even to the point of playing without my game controller. I was over at Realore again seeing what games they had developed themselves, found a good one called "Robbox", then also found out they just published it. Oh well, thought it would be a good hint for them, as I don't think they could send it as a Give Away. But keep up the good work at Realore, you are getting me into using my keyboard! Thanks to GAOTD also for giving me things I would normally avoid!

I have win XP. Core 2 CPU, Radeon X1650 series.

Many of top games works, but turtle don't.

I've got error:
The program need video hardware supported DirectX 8.0 or higher version.

Does someone know why?

Thx

Screen came up garbled and a window opened saying something like "Video Card capable of running DIVX 9 not found."

Sounds like a good game, but can't see anything of use.

Using Vista on a fairly new Toshiba laptop.

#21 Buckleysmom...and Esther (#22), you certainly aren't alone...hee hee. I am almost 55 years old, myself, and enjoy most of the platform games, as well as some of the arcade ones, match-3's; 'course, I also like Kidd Rock (clean version, only!), Evanescense (sp?), Aerosmith, and probably some others I can't recall that my older son got me liking.... Not too many women (maybe men, too), my age, like that type of music, I imagine...hee hee

This is an AWESOME game! Yeah, it's been offered a couple of times before, but it's a great opportunity to snag the original if you don't already have it.

Graphics are excellent, music is ok, but you can turn the sound all the way down in the options. Game play is not as easy as it looks. Easy enough, though for younger players (or the young at heart! ;o] )
