Hi i just bought the game yesterday and it gets stuck on level 29. 24 hours later i am still waiting for someone in the support team to contact me. URSE Games should have tackled this problem ages ago as some customers had already complained re this programme. Good game bu shitty customer care

Agreed with 119, please re-run the giveaway now that there is a functional link available. I reinstalled and the demo is only for 60 minutes, I do a lot of other work that would likely be destroyed by a system restore. I have now uninstalled the game, I should have just done the workaround previously posted and not played level 29.

I got a quick response from the makers. A new setup file. Installed it, 29-bug gone. But:

It did not work in registered mode :-(((( Now my game is in DEMO mode (60 minutes). The original key does NOT work.

I too applied the "update" only to have the game drop down to a demo mode version. I've emailed Ursegames and hopefully they can supply me as well as all the others with the license key.

I also have the same issue as 115. I installed as per 96 without uninstall and now need a reg key. I know this was a free offer but my daughter and I really enjoy this game as a stress break and it would be nice to have back :) Lets hope for a real fix or repost.

My advice to anyone who has not tried the update...DON'T! Use the rename of level 29 solution. It worked... now I am sorry I tried the 'Official patch'.

What are the chances of having this game offered again??
A lot of us lost the game do to the problems on step 29.
The fix did not include the key and I know I lost everything
as did a lot of others.

I installed the patch, but also do not have the registeration key and have no backup prior to this since I was working on another issues and had to turn off the restore points due to a virus infection.

How do you get back the game since they state that the patch would not require me to re-register as in #96.

Great advise #112. It worked well. Thanks for the info. Level 29 is beatalbe with the new fix.

Re-install the game using the link above. Then restore Windows to restore point prior to the new installation but after the original game was installed. This will restore the registration in the registry AND keep the repaired files. Level 29 can then be played to the end.

I too couldn't pass level 29....I did download and install the "fixed" game....now it asks for registration key...I don't have it ...where can I get it...any help would be appreciated.

#96. Didn't work for me once installed kept asking for reg code which I no longer had. :( Uninstalled game too bad I was begining to real enjoy it until the level 29 debacle ruined it

here is another bug.. if you have 0 lives left, and win a level but die just before the informaiton screen pops, then you will have infinite lives.

the gameplay is nice and quite addictive, but they really need to change the music.

#83 & 84, your solution works. sergei, i know it sounds crazy but i couldnt find the user.dat file. i didnt bother to download and install the fixed version.

is the activation code supposed to work the next day too? this is what i have been telling all the time. GOTD should re-giveaway some of the softwares again, so that all these posts will have a meaning.

Is any one else having trouble with the 9th stage? I cannot seem to figure out a way to knock out the floating box in the top right corner.

OK people, ****** LEVEL 29 - Heres a solution ******
Skip the level. How?? Simple!!
This game stores all the levels in a folder called "arcade"
So got to the where you installed the game (4 eg on my machine F:\Games\Nuclear Ball\Media\Level\Arcade..) now copy and paste 28.dat to the same folder and rename it 29.dat, Overight the origional and tada!!! OK you play the same level twice before moving on but big deal.

Um, #100 did you read any of the other comments posted before yours? URSE has offered a free update for Nuclear Ball that fixes all unbeatable levels. Read a few comments up and you'll see a link for it...

Loved the game until I got to level 29. BIG mistake there. I would enjoy playing this game because it has a twist over gem ball. I have completed that game 3 times and have started it again. I had looked forward to this because it seemed to have a curve to it, different graphics. Would have been great. Maybe next time.

Updated version works for me, too. Now I'm glad I didn't uninstall it last night.

Great variation on a "Breakout" type game. I like this one even better than DXBall, which I liked enough to actually purchase. Thanks for the free game, GGotD and URSE Games.

I have to admit I haven't been that impressed with most of the games here, but this one is great, at least now that the bugs seem to be gone.

If you're still having issues, try running it in a window instead of full-screen. Worked for me, anyway.

I also got the same immediate email response (as #92 Ken,) when I contacted Urse Games directly - same link, same download. My game works perfectly now and I'm already on L87. ;) I agree with those that said this is an addictive game, but somehow I have to stop now in order to make supper! ;)

My thanks go to Urse games for returning to us again, and also for their veryprompt response to a serious design flaw in their software.

URSE games has issued a fix. Do not uninstall, just install new download and it will fix the level 29 issue and keep your registration.

Thanks to comment #58 I was able to finish the 100 levels (I had to use the "cheat" for levels 29 and 36 which have problems)
My final score: 1'166'677

I played through the game with the level-replacement work-around described in post #83. (30 twice and 37 twice). I can confirm that the rest of the levels work absolutely fine.

@ken: did they also fix level 36? since it had the same bug as level 29..

See where they fixed Level 29. But now need Key from Yesterday as I didn't save it thinking that it wouldn't work past 29..

Any one have the key for Nuclear Ball???

Same problem on level 29, plus the game is pretty buggy once you start getting into the higher levels. Great game - wish it worked. It's a real deal for free, but I'd be pissed if I'd paid for it.

Well I just came by to say that this is a great game but I found a small glitch on level 29. But I guess everyone else seems to have found it too. please let us know if the originator will fix this problem, Thanks , it is a great game though. jakeshjo

same problems with level 29 as everyone else seems to have.

I really enjoyed playing this game.

That is until I got through level 29. It's a shame there is the problem on this level. I guess I shouldn't complain ....it is free. Let us know if the level can be fixed.

You can pass any level that is not working by going to
C:\Program Files\Nuclear Ball\Media\Level\Arcade
and just backup the offending level first then replace with a working level. So far lvl 29 and 36 but I need sleep. Have a good night.

Game is a lot of fun, but I too ran into problems on Level 29. If it is possible to complete, I certainly can't figure it out.

However, I did figure out a quick "hack" (errr. . . .workaround). If you navigates through the folders on your system as follows:

program files - nuclear ball - media - level - Arcade

you will find a file in the Arcade folder called 29.dat. rename that to 29.datb. Then make a copy of 30.dat and rename that new copy to 29.dat. The game will then play the original level 30 as level 29 (and repeat it the next round). The game will then continues on to the next levels as normal.

. . .of course who knows. . .level 29 may in fact be possible. . . .and then again it may not be and there could possibly be other levels down the way that also have similar hurdles. :-)

besides Level 29. Level 36 seems unbeatable. I used a hex editer to get past 29. oh well, on to more editing.

Now I can finish the game (except level 29). I did not even get asked to register again. I rebooted, restarted the machine, it works fine.

I agree with most of the comments...anyway of fixing 29 before the day expires so we can all download it again in its fixed state.It is a great game too....such a shame....is that why it is being given away because of the problem?????????

Thanks for showing a work-around for the level 29 bug. Worked great for me. Didn't have to do anything else. Just selected level 30 afterward, and kept on playing.

heres my review for this game.

Ok,I downloaded and installed it perfectly,Started the game.


presentation is beutifal,menus are clean looking and 3d-ish

music and sound are plain,nothing that good.

graphics are average,while the models/level looks good the effects suffer,explosions look like they were made by a chimpanze.

gampeplay is average.

Its fun,not to addictive,and basicly a clone with diffrent graphics,two other games are just like this,roboball,and gem-ball,literaly just like it.

Youd think sense the ifisous was on weapons that there would be more depth and originality to them,Upgrading them would be awsome,they are powerups but the more you use a powerup,the better it gets,but sadly,there only about three weapon powerups total,all of wich lack originality.

the bricks can get pretty unique though,unlike roboball the bricks not only look diffrent but they have to be destroyed diffrently.

the fact that the game has little to no depth,it relys on addictiveness and fun,wich in this case,both are just average.


this game overall is a 6/10 I recomend downloading it but Id uninstall it after atmost a month.

Definantly wouldnt buy it for a 20 dollar price tag,maybe $10 :)

Level 29 got me too. It's such a pity from the makers of Master of Defense, which I play pretty much every night.I liked the chain power up, I thought it was a cool touch instead of the usual boring line. I LOVE the shooting ball, it really is fun to watch. I had a hard time with level 26, but once I got through the first bit it was not a problem. I hope they fix the level 29 thing, that's not cool.
