Mosaic: Game of Gods is a game of mosaic puzzles made of different materials.

The Universe exists balancing between Chaos and Creation. They bring harmony and equilibrium; they are watching the flow of life. But, when one of the forces prevails, the world becomes unrecognizable. And so it happened once, when the furious God of Chaos decided to wipe all the life off the Earth.
And now only the Goddess of Creation is able to bring everything back and tame the heart of the God of Chaos.

In Brief:
Mosaic: Game of Gods was given away on the 28th September 2019 where it received a positive 73% from 11 votes with 19 comments which you can see HERE.
It was a Steam Greenlight project (now defunct) that was also released via the big arcade distributors such as Big Fish games a couple of years ago. It’s a casual arcade game featuring 150 mosaic puzzles that are ideal for the whole family, with two modes of play casual and timed plus excellent music score and some decent art work. It’s approximately a third of a gigabyte when installed.

You can see over 40 Steam community reviews HERE and several videos of game play HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
The Game:
The title of this game hints to a story, perhaps to a story on a deeper level. It sounds like the game would happen between two deities who both want something. That sounded extremely interesting to me. While I didn't expect too in-depth background due to the type of this game, I was still disappointed by the lack of it. There are exactly two cut scenes, at the beginning and at the end. The title mislead me quite well for making me believe something particularly exciting would happen between the packs you have to finish.

There's not much to the characters and that's not really surprising. Still, the two main characters (and I use that term loosely) have a connection to each other. It's hard to tell what kind of relationship it is, because they never, even once, speak. So in that as well, the characters lacked depth.

It's very simple, but nice nonetheless, if you know what to expect. I expected the Fever Mode to be a timed version of the main game, but it's not. You have a certain time to finish a mosaic and you gain more time every time you finish one. So you can go on as long as you have time. It was a pleasant surprise for me, since I typically do not like timed versions. It was a nice add to the slower, more relaxed version. If you start with a Fever Mode, maybe the game mechanics work differently? That I can't say.

When you first begin the game, the main screen has BEAUTIFUL art. It was gorgeous, and had quite sharp details. The colours were wonderful too. It was pleasant to look at and I expected it to apply to the whole game. But. I was once again disappointed. The cut scene animations don't have similar style at all. Admittedly, animations rarely look as good as the main art. But the level dropped down a lot, almost made it look ugly. Visually appealing games are my thing, so to be first introduced to an amazing view and then to have it change... It was a true shame. The only good thing is, that there were only two cut scenes.

As for mosaics, all of the packs had different textures. From glass-like to rough, it was interesting - and some of the textures made the game play more challenging.

I loved the music. It hit me immediately when I began the game. I actually wished that I could listen to it some more, which is rare for me. I liked the main tune the best, but the others were quite pleasant to listen to too.

Conclusion:
Mosaic: Game of Gods is decent casual mosaic puzzle game that will keep you entertained for quite some time working through the 150 levels. Ideal family entertainment for those rainy weekend days and evenings. With two modes of play you can play either leisurely un-timed or a little more stressful with the timed mode. It's a well made game with at least one of the sequels released on Steam. you can even download a free demo of the first two games in the series HERE and HERE; both require the Steam client to install.

The opening scene's graphics are so vivid and so pretty, as Whiterabbit-uk mentioned, I wanted to see more. Maybe that will come, that remains to be seen. The game-play is standard for these mosaic puzzles we've come to know. I appreciate the relaxed mode which is what I have been playing in. I also appreciate that if one makes a mistake and wants to redo the puzzle to get the full 3 stars, you have that option but it scrambles things up so each time is different, though it is the same image.

My issue with these mosaic games are similar to my issues with match-3 games. It feels like you are doing the same thing over and over without anything new or different happening. I've gotten through level 12 thus far and I don't know what I am working towards, if anything. It is a very cold day here in NY so this has been a fun pass-time before Svengoolie's "The War of the Gargantuas" starts at 8PM. :-P

For the record, the game works fine in Win10HomeX64.

Thank you to all who made this giveaway possible.

A little bit off topic for for our friends in the USA who may have Xfinity Cable Service or Peacock Streaming service, the movie Megan that is still in some theaters is free to watch now.

You have to have a subscription to the premium Peacock to watch or you need to be an Xfinity subscriber. Just say Megan Peacock in your remote.

FYI This movie is unrated unlike the theater release which was PG - 13 so parents may need to watch it on their own before showing it to their kids.

I cannot download the game at this time. The app isn't working to facebook (and the app developer is aware according to the link attempt) and I cannot get the link emailed to me. I tried that a few weeks ago and never received the link and haven't today either. Hope the issue with facebook is fixed today or I'll miss this game, it looked interesting.

Is there any way to download this game for free? I have been checking for a few hours and still cannot use the facebook link nor get the email link. I found out when I downloaded Alice's Patchwork game that I really like this genre!

Jackie, The issue was temporarily fixed. They disabled the requirement to log into Facebook and the download now button was enabled at least for me.

Jackie,

Hi Jackie, yes, the game can be downloaded from TooMky Games. It's basically the same version as we get here as Toomky games have removed most of their adware (which does not get installed to your system. It's totally ring fenced within the game, and all it does is open your browser to Toomky games web site when you close the game down.

Whiterabbit-uk, Well, now when I download from Toomky, Microsoft has decided that the file isn't usually downloaded and so I can't!!! OMG I pay Norton to keep my computer safe and I figured out how to get past their wall for GGOTD, but Microsoft isn't giving me any easy way to open that file. So thank you for your help and maybe I'll eventually get this game--or not.

I finally figured out how to actually install the download from Toomky and I played a short while. The beginning is extremely easy, but sailorbear510 said the difficulty will increase which is good.

Thank you for your assistance. I have been getting mainly games from GGOTD almost as long as it's been around and have never downloaded malware from this site. Keep up the good work and thanks again!

I was just about to post a reply to your last comment with some suggestions, but after seeing your comment I deleted it. Glad to hear you got it to work. :)

Since this is a type of puzzle I don't usually play, I thought I'd download it and give it a shot! But then I saw the majority of the ratings so far were negative. But no comments to describe what those folks found so bad. This has been a pet peeve for me here; it feels to me that in the spirit of community, if folks are going to vote yea or nay, they should also post even a short comment saying what they liked or didn't like so folks can make a better decision. Although I generally restrict myself to adventure/HOG and the occasional griddler, I do like to try new things :). Thank the goddess for this site!

neme, hope you downloaded. I assume you did, but wasn't sure if you were still waiting for some good reviews. If you're still unsure, I can say that it's really well liked on Steam, including recommendations by 10 curators. I got it last time, though it was fine for the simple type of game it is.

Today's game is a mosaic game with a twist! A story line at the beginning of the game that is actually believable. At first I thought we were playing a game from 8 Floor as they usually provide us with this genre of game but its actually an Alawar / New Bridge Games team effort.

The game is adapted from a child's puzzle toy where they put the wooden pieces of the puzzle with pegs into the board so that the pieces fit..

It stars out easy and then it can get difficult. The game has different difficulty modes including a most requested relax mode so you don't have to panic on taking too long :)

The one thing I loved about the game was that song in the main menu. I actually sat there and listened to the whole thing and found it pretty awesome you usually don't see that in casual games it's usually just regular composed music.

There were no problems installing this game and the game loads pretty quick. The reason for the large file size is for the FMV cut scenes. Although basic animation I could tell it was an MPG file due to the fact I saw pixilation. I'd think in today's world we can use animation in a game like this without the need for pre-recorded clips and so forth given the technology of computers.

Overall this is a decent game that will keep you quite busy to solve all of the puzzles. There is 150 of them :)
