To those having problems with the game minimising to the Taskbar, I had the same problem until I allowed my firewall to access the net (I guess it's so it can send your high score to the server?)
Once I had allowed access, The game runs without any problems( Although I can't see people playing it for so long as to get a score in the 8 and 10 figure, It's Not THAT good to stick with!

This is definitely not the best arkanoid clone ever made, as many others claim, but it is still very good. Thumbs up.

I've owned "Magic Ball 2" for sometime. This is much improved game.

Most of the games here, I play with for a few minutes, and never get back to them. Sure, this one has simple, brainless gameplay, but it brought a big smile to my face. This is one I'll probably play again. Thumbs up, and thanks, GGOTD! By the way, I downloaded RoboBall, but was busy and didn't get it installed in time. One of the comments said it was also a lot of fun, so perhaps another to consider re-running.

The first one was good, so is this, Don't be fooled by "another breakout clone" this is a refined and adds lots of twists to the gameplay.. worth at least a good look and a couple of hours of fun and hours of entertainment for the younger ones.

A little too much on the cute side. I am not a child, so maybe that's why it doesn't appeal to me. If you have children, then by all means, get it for them, but if you're an adult, don't waste your time. It's cute and sweet, with a nice, endless, monotonous soundtrack...did I mention the monotonous soundtrack? Ah yes, then, by all means, get it for the children.. They'll love it.

I love this game. And it's so addicting. The graphics are great and I love that you can find out the high scores of the day with a click of a button. Thanks Alwar & GGAOTD.

As one who isn't a fan of Arkanoid or Breakout games, I was going to give this a miss, but I'm really glad I downloaded it, because it is a marvellous game--great graphics, lots of interesting bonuses, great music and sound effects. The feel of it is rather like playing on a pinball table--the bounces are that crisp and satisfying.
There's so much going on that sometimes I got too interested in watching, and I forgot to bat my ball!

Score for this couldn't be less than 9/10. Don't miss this.

Greate game!, but i did find a bug.
I was playing and the ball disappeared (behind the objects i assume) and never reappeared.
the game then never ended.
had to quit the game.

Still, could have been a worse bug, and i still would have said i love the breath of fresh air this game brought me !

This is dreams/ #34 with same prob as #8. Thanks to you I found it's my Stat bar program (a nifty Menu bar with icons to lots of programs so I don't have to have them on the desktop) that was causing Magic Ball to pause & flip back to the desktop every few seconds. [but I can easily turn off Stat Bar when I want to play.

Now Magic Ball is all running PERFECTLY with all it's fun graphics & charm. And a Happy Thanksgiving to you all from Canada!

Downloaded and activated fine. Ran the game. Problem started on loading screen: beautiful graffics Magic Ball 3 but near the bottom were angular shapes.On the next screen the background is nice but instead of seeing choices (Play, exit, options etc.) I get angular shapes. As much as I know I have the usual set of fonts. In all the years and successful downloads from this site I have never come across this problem. Correctly guessing that the top bar = play I clicked on it, The game ran nicely and looked beautiful. I have a Dell Latitude laptop with WinXP Pro and lots of other games work fine.

Best game I've seen here yet! Imaginative takeoff of breakout and lots of fun with bonuses such as rocket launchers! LOL! Really creative work--good job! Works on XP fine, I'll have to see if it works with my Vista computer. BTW, regarding the difficulty--are the pictures to the left as you select the game map the difficulty levels? I think they may be and that they're set on the easiest level by default.

#8, You didn't say which OS you have, but I don't think it's the game--it sounds like there's something on your system that's interrupting the game. I have a reminder program that will do that. If it pops up, some games will minimize. I would check to make sure you don't have anything else running that might interrupt it.

When theres alot of stuff on screen the mouse response gets sluggish
Game is fairly stingy with the extra lives
Power ball should destroy everything it contacts(it doesn't)

I admit: I bought this game a few weeks before because my son loves it. Well... I play it, too :-) If you like breakout games then go and download this one. Very nice graphics in some kind of 3D and plain fun to play.
Shareware Games? Nah, c'mon! If you crash your hard disk after downloading this one and you miss it so much, look for scaraball (free).

The "pausing" and drop to the taskbar is caused by the cursor not being constrained. It gets outside of the game frame and when you click, Windows thinks you want to get to the desktop. It could be (if you do not have multiple monitors) that your desktop is larger than the resolution in game. Try setting the video to the same size as your desktop. If you DO have mulitple monitors, you will have to disable one monitor while playing this game.

I tried this game with one monitor disabled, and the video set to the same size as the desktop and the pause/send game to taskbar flaw stopped occuring.

While normally I might be driven to call this a major flaw, I am exercising discressionary criticism this time. The game is fun enough to be worth the annoyance of dealing with this flaw. One would think that the game programmers would fix this ASAP.

BTW: There is a folder with some interesting type faces (alongside some familiar ones). They move into the typeface folder easily. I'm always looking for new or unusual typefaces to enhance my presentations, webpages, etc.

Fun game but does anyone know what to do if the ball gets stuck or disappears? This happened to me. It went behind a boat and never returned. I had to exit and start over.

Very nice. It's close but not quite good enough to topple BreakQuest from its position as my favourite Breakout, but absolutely enjoyable, and well worth its asking price. Fun to watch towers of "blocks" toppling from a well-aimed rocket! Many funny levels with wacky positions (sheep in pyramids, animals watching Chaplin etc). I keep expecting the sheep to explode or a banana bomb to appear =). Great way to solve the "last block" tedium, once there are only a couple of things left it will zap them and/or give you a "next level" powerup.

Some of the not-so-strong points: The music is mediocre, and the sounds uninspired. While I enjoy the graphics and mechanics (yay PhysX!), there is little variety within each of the "episodes". Also, there could be more kinds of powerups, but that last bit is a very minor point.

Stop reading the comments and go download this game! At least try it, it's what a game should be, fun! Super graphics, music, sounds and playability. Charming+, bright and beautiful. Igor, Sergey, Alexey, Lena, Artem, I applaud you, you really have created a keeper with this game. Alawar Entertainment has really impressed me, first with the Arctic Quest2 and now this one(I only found this place a few months ago, so these are the two that I've tried so far)both games have been high quality and imaginative. You can't window this game, but for once that hasn't annoyed me... I would see it as a bonus but not a requirement as it's sharp full screen. I would like to see an explanation as to what the options would affect, so you could be informed before making changes. If the ball had just a little more "zing" as it comes off the paddle(seems a bit soft)I think it would be a 10/10...nit picking on my part, I still give it a big thumbs up and 9 1/2 out of ten. Love it! Thank you so very much GGAOTD.

Ecellent game! I loved the other magic ball games as well. I still play and enjoy Snowy Lunch Rush from Alawar, also offered on this site some time ago. I guess if I had any suggestion for this game, it would have been to choose the level of difficulty. None the less, it's lots of fun with lovely graphics. Thank you Alawar and GGOTD!

I LOVE this game, but it started PAUSING when I click the mouse, or sometimes when just move the mouse. Same prob as #8.

A fun version of Arkanoid. I'm kind of a fan of thses games, but most do not stay on the HD long. I'm sure this will be there a long time.

I only noted one big problem: the cursor is not constrained, and the program does not know about mulitple monitor setups. So, unless one disables one monitor, every once is a while the cursor gets out of game and a click brings the program down to the taskbar.

Other than that glitch, this is a fun program. I played many levels and found no problems. Get it while it's free!

Utterly charming! Great graphics and effects. Music is good, but could be changed up a bit more often. Not very challenging due to slow ball speed. Probably most appealing to younger kids, but a great diversion, even for adults. Thumbs-up!
