For others above - if this occurs, simply Uninstall, get over it, and wait for tomorrows game!

Everyone who plays this program, works UNSAFE with his computer!!!

It CAN NOT safely run under a non-administrator user account. Unless you lift some security-settings for those users.
If it runs for you: beware!

Very bad non-XP programming. Bad remake (porting) of an old Win98 program? Or do the makers not know the first thing about programming for XP??
It uses the HKLM instead of the HKCU part of the regy. On my (safe) PC it even does not work with RunAs.

Many thumbs downs.

This is a nice game. Definitely a kid pleaser with the faces and sound effects. The game saves so you can play just a few minutes and come back to it later which makes it nice for those with a short attention span.

#26, how so? If someone mistook your post would you not defend yourself? No, just like any forum or posting site, you feel better about yourself to jump on some immaginary band wagon and gang up on someone. This is completely childish. I gave an honest statement of my opinion and what problems I have or don't have on my computer. If people can't handle that , too bad. Much like 90% of this world these days, the truth is supposed to be suppressed to please others. Too bad. I could have covered up my reply and lied to myself saying I thought all was peachy or that I don't know anything about computers, I did not do that you and cheryl don't like it, oh well. 99% of my post was what I do run on my pc, not my knowledge of. I think you and cheryl don't know how to read or want it to be what you want it to be. Whether to feel like you are coming to Game Giveaway's defense and get some false sense of heroism or just failure to read properly. Either way, I won't lie to please people like you, I tell the truth of what I think of this software. Once again, too bad.

I had issues running this in XP under my daughter's account; it said that it wasn't activated even though activation succeeded. However, if I run it as the Administrator, it works fine.

First of all, I did decide to try again to no avail. Everything i've tried has failed with this game. I am at no loss since i've paid, well 0$. I truly wish these games would work but they won't.

#11, Let me state, I don't have an attitude. I don't think i'm better than anyone, I was simply trying to make a point that I am not just some newbie who is walking in and saying something doesn't work. You have mistaken my post completely. It was simply trying to get a point accross that I have no problems with anything else. You are riding the white horse and playing knight in shining armor as many do, go put on your little red cape and leap. I have news for you, I don't play halo with the kiddies, I have tried it a few times but my kids play it. You mistook what I meant and are rude and ignorant. Do you think they are now going to build a shrine in your name? Is that how you think? Wow,Cheryl mistook a post and made an ignorant comment, yep statue time. Get over yourself, when posting, most know it's hard to get a feeling accross and re-reading a post may do you some good.

To #16, to get the registered version you needed to follow the directions in the readme.txt that was in the zip file you downloaded. Here's what it said:

"Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and run the activation program
Activate.exe which is included in the package, then run Setup.exe to
install the software."

If instead you ran setup.exe first, the you can still successfully register the program. Just close the game, make sure it is CLOSED and not minimized. Then GO BACK to the zip file you first downloaded and look for activate.exe, don't look in the installed game's folders as it won't be there. It is in the original zip file downloaded from game.giveawayoftheday.com along with the readme.txt file quoted above and the setup.exe that you used to install the game.

Just double click on activate.exe with the game closed and an internet connection open and it will register. Then re-open the game to find the full registered version.

Nice game but was disappointed to see that it was only good for 60 minutes. I thought the game was good for as long as it was on our computer.

Just wanted to add to previous comment:

The "Normal" difficulty level on this game is also quite easy. The "Professional" level is easy as well, adding only more different colored balls. No matter what level, every time the game is over a message appears that says "You did quite good" and invites you to enter your name to put on the game's saved "high score" list. (To clear "Player" that's listed there, just have your kids hit the back arrow at the top row of the keyboard, just under the F12 key.)

Getting to the top of the high score list for each level is very easily done even by just testing each difficulty level one time. It really does seem this game is strictly for little kids, who would likely enjoy it.

Installed, but never received code to register. Tried twice, same thing. Have downloaded from this site before & never had that happen. Merely ended up w/a trial version that slowed down my computer more than any puzzle-type game I've ever tried. Uninstalled & deleted.

This game worked fine on my computer, no problems initializing, playing, or changing options such as switching to full screen play. (Switching to full screen requires restarting the game, but it will save your current game if you're in the middle of one.) But for those for whom it didn't work, don't worry, you're not missing too much.

It works like a traditional Lines games but has the added enhancement of interactive balls. The balls have faces and talk to the player, but all they say is "What?", "Huh?", "Hmmm?" laugh, and the time bomb ball makes a growling noise. The music, which plays constantly, is annoying. You can turn the music off in options, and also adjust the volume of the vocalizations the balls make. The balls also blink, smoke pipes, and read the paper. The artist ball will change colors of balls around it when moved. The time bomb ball will blast balls around it off the board when moved, and they scream when jumping off.

It is sort of cute and would probably please young kids, in fact it has a difficulty level setting specifically labeled "kids" that is quite easy. If you're setting up a computer for a young child (niece, nephew?) and would like to annoy that child's parents then this is the game to install ...LOL.

But for all others this would be a difficult one to keep due to the annoyance factors. There's much better games listed on the linked site, such as Big Kahuna Reef, Jewel Quest, and Atlantis Quest which is the top game on the sidebar today. Would like to see any of those offered in the future, especially Big Kahuna Reef with its beautiful aquatic backgrounds.

To the software developer, Terminal Studio : thanks for this! Would you consider offering "Race Cars: The Extreme Rally" one of these days as well? It looks great.

I think the reason many of these games get negative votes, or so few votes in total (indicating a lack of interest), is that they're often meant for very young children. GOTD, how about offering an equal balance of games for adults, older kids/teens, and very young kids?

Same error as Paul. Game would not initialize. While I, personally, think that this is likely the result of sloppy programming, I would not waste a "chunk" of what you are sure is a very valuable day with troubleshooting someone else's problem. Paul, as one with as much experience in the field as there have been PCs and even positions as programmers (roughly 30 years) I really hope you don't take that tone to work with you. I'm sure you are good, you ceratinly seem to think so, but leave your false humility behind, please. Your attitude may receive an unwelcome adjustment, some day. There actually may be better than you, and not just at playing Halo with the kiddies.

One last question (maybe there will be more from others)Is your computer old 2-10 years. I have Two and one is 7 years old and there is almost no drivers soport for them making it harder for new games to play on computer, put my secound one, all new games work for that computer is only a year old.

#5, thank you for that but to be honest, I am far above average in pc technology and have over 100 good programs that I have been through and run and keep to repair computers. I have tested every one of them and they have all worked, some I still use. I have played halo, doom, and other higher end games, I have a stack of them. I also have other downloaded games from elsewhere for my wife and she plays them along with a family fun pack which has roller coaster tycoon and many many games which the kids play. I also have many securities and never had a problem with anything. I downloaded a good 20 more programs "from GAOTD freeware library" for AVI , security, sync of files, etc...and they all run\set up great. I run dvd software, make home movies, do graphics work with Gimp, Picture it publishing, etc...and no problems at all. I don't mean to go on and on but I cannot tell you how many things I have run and it seems I have hit a dead end only with these games. I keep all my drivers up to date, securities, etc...my system is spec. I'd better since i'm very close to being a network admin, right now pc repair, later, programming.

Simply put, they are not compatible on my system , or my son's and have not been on other systems, this is due "probably" to lack of testing or "I apologize ahead" poor programming. This usually ends up a mix of some can install, some can't.

It may sound offensive but in the pc world, poor programming or lack of testing happens in many applications, not just here. Either way, I am truly glad you are enjoying your game, and thank you for assisting me,it's much appreciated.

P.S. re comment 2 {Paul) I don't see how it can be a glitch in the game when most people get it to work. Have you checked whether your drivers are up to date? A good program to do that is version traker. It costs nearly $30 a year to subscribe, but you could try the demo to see what's out of date. Quite often problems are solved by updating your drivers. I swear by version traker and think $30 a year is a bargain. They also send out a weekly news letter that gives details of useful freeware you can unsubscribe from the newsletter if you hate that sort of thing, but I personally think it's a brilliant service.

Thank you very much. My daughter loves this genre. I think this is the second of this type you've given away. She will be really happy when she gets home from school. So far I can say that every game you've given away has either been ideal for either my children or myself. (My wife rarely plays games on the computer as she thinks it's a waste of time, except for chess, lol). No problem comment #2; seems there may be something wrong with your whole set up if you're having so many problems. I've only had a problem with one game so far and on that particular day nearly every comment was about problems with that game.... It's a shame you're having those problems. Why not carry on downloading them. If the game doesn't work first time, then delete it rather than spending half a day working on trying to solve the problem. At least you will get some games to work. Do you have the same problem with the utilities? I hope all is sorted for you soon...regards Stephen

I gave lines a thumbs down. It activated OK, ran the setup, and some odd OC-8 something something was trying to access the internet from it, I allowed and immediately after got **access violation 0046AC97 in module lines delux.exe "ROA" 00000000** Tried 5 times, same thing. I would assume the address error is from the AC97 codec, some sound error with the software. Either way, this is the second of 4 games I could not install and no offense, but I am not taking another chunk of a day to figure it out, lol. I don't mean to sound ungrateful but being how much trouble I have had with the games already, I will no longer be downloading them and definately won't be buying them. I do appreciate the opportunity you give everyone but I simply think the games need some serious bug testing before put out to everyone. For those who do get it to work, i'm sure it's great and I hope you understand my thoughts on this as I mean no offense but even if FREE, my time is equally important. Thank you anyway for the Free games, much appreciated.

Paul

As a note to those who will jump on the "read and it will install, you simply don't read,etc..." wagon, I do read and I know how to set these files up vey well. It's simply a glich.
