You are playing through a little fairy named Ptolemy. Ptolemy knows the incantation for turning her enemies into cakes. When being dropped from somewhere (either you or somebody else may push it or it may fall down by itself), the bewitched enemy expires. You can use your enemies as footholds for moving around the playground.
Several special things emerge on the screen during the game. If you take them with you, they will help you to win. On some levels, the characters can be instantaneously moved by teleports. Be careful, in one of the teleports there is a hiding place of the worm that can grab and trap both you and your enemies.
The aim of the game is to defeat the Red Dragon who stole a Holy Gem. The Red Dragon occupies the 150th level. Your journey will not be an easy one. On each level, enemies of all sorts will try to stop you. Good luck!

This is a small, simple side scroller. It doesn’t take up much room on your hard drive and for me installed quickly and simply. It uses 4 keyboard keys to play so it is not complicated. This is an easygoing game to play, however I don’t see this as keeping an adult’s attention for too long, but for young children I’d imagine it would be fun.
Your character – a witch – flies on your broomstick into each successive level, lands and then there are various characters on each level she has to defeat by casting spells. On some levels there is a bonus prize further up the screen on one of the ledges which she has to jump up and get.
I only went up to level 6, but they become slightly more difficult each time you advance, the same premise as any of this genre of game.
Comment by Fred — September 24th, 2007 at 4:58 amThis Bubble Bobble clone is okay, I guess. However, I played 19 levels and was bored after 3. There is nothing that makes this clone stand out from the rest. And with the original Bubble Bobble available for 5 pounds (~10 dollars) bundled with Rainbow Islands, there is very little in Fairyland’s favour.
