This is hands down, a great game. We played all 60 levels and then have played it again. We love this game. It could of course be improved but as is its still 5 stars.

I used to play Zuma and Luxor but they got tiring real fast. The nice thing about this is it has different aspects that keep it interesting. While I prefer these type of games w/storylines (ie Tumblebugs & Butterfly Escape), Inca Ball is a nice casual game to play during a coffee break.

I bet that nobody here knows that PopCap was sued for plagiarism by the creator of Puzz Loop when they originally released Zuma.

Darn, darn, darn.

I downloaded this program yesterday. I left a comment because I'd been wanting this game for awhile. And don't you just know it!! I got slapped with an emergency project at work, got so involved that I just plain forgot to activate it...baaa waaa waaa. I'm going to probably sulk all day about this. Oh well GGOTD is still awesome in my eyes.

Anything remotely close to Zuma (which imo is the best) is fine with me. I love Luxor3 and I like this one. There are variations and subleties enough to make it interesting. It's so relaxing yet it picks up if you want to really progress - like Zuma. Thanks so much GGoTD. Love this game!

So far, I've really enjoyed all of the games Playrix has supplied to GGAOTD, and Inca Ball is no exception. No problems installing it or running it on Vista Home Premium.

Stephen #53, I have seen your personal software giveaway offers a couple of times, and wanted to reply, but have seen no way to except for on this board. To have that many games on your computer you must have one heck of a large hard drive...heh heh heh. I have downloaded so much from this site, along with software from other sources, I am now having to pick and choose what can stay (on my 120/103 GB hard drive) and what will have to go...lol.

Hi GameBeginner, Most games require DirectX and sometimes openGL, both these are 3D emulators. Both are also Free to download:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9226A611-62FE-4F61-ABA1-914185249413&displaylang=en

If you're not using a registered version of XP you wont be able to down load it, but I suspect you're using an earlier version as XP already comes with DirectX. There are other sites where you can download Direct X but avoid DX10 unless you've got the latest video cards and Vista installed.

SDK actually stands for Software development Kit. Download the DX SDK from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4B78A58A-E672-4B83-A28E-72B5E93BD60A&displaylang=en

I hope this solves your problem. If not and it's too late to activate todays giveaway, all is not lost as you can get the same game but with a different name from..... see my post in the forums for the download link. It's called Azteca.

Downloaded without a problem. Plays great with Vista. I actully went and read your comments on the forum, White Rabbit, and loved that fact you thought this was a better game than ZUMA....because I am totally addicted to Zuma but starting to get a little bored of the music and layout...looked forward to a change. I downloaded the game and totally love it! Thanks GAOTD!!

I really like match 3 games, and Inca Ball is no exception. It's crisp and colourful, with a slightly different bonus setup than Zuma or Luxor. The backgrounds are not as varied, but it comes in a close third to the afore mentioned imo. I guess we really do get lots of match 3 type games from GGOTD, but anyone who enjoys them probably appreciates trying out new ones. I usually sit down and tear through the entire game in one or two sittings and am most grateful for the variation. Thank you so much GGOTD and Playrix for today's offering- keep 'em coming!

Better than most Zuma clones. A weak thumbs up from me. That it's much better than most Zuma clones doesn't mean much. Best of the side-side scroll collect drops I've seen.

Graphics are typical for these things: low res slap on Incan/Egyptian/whatever theme background.

Balance is way off (had 37 lives by the time turquoise color opened up and I stopped playing--my phone call ended), just buying lives and the occasional Rain ability. Ignored the rest.

There are two problems all Zuma clones seem to have. One is personal preference though I think I could back it up from a design point of view if pressed.

First, the difficulty doesn't scale well. This is true for many match/action puzzle games. This game has a giant slog where the play stays exactly the same. Eventually another color kicks in--not changing things much--and then another slog. The other downfall (this one didn't have it, from the half of the game I saw) is easy easy murderously hard. Discontinuous jumps in difficulty. Zuma Deluxe (yes, got to pay for it) is dead easy early and totally unforgiving at the end. One wrong shot is start over. Difference is a smooth ramp along the way. It has fewer levels but more levels of the same isn't *really* extra gameplay. After you've played it a bit the early game is maxing your combos to get extra lives (and beat personal timer records) for more shots at the end levels.

Second, I've no idea why all (?) the Zuma clones have a move on the bottom collect dropping bonuses mechanic coupled with lots of unconnected strings of balls. In Zuma the balls move around your position and long chains are linked so it's shooting in all directions and to collect bonuses a risk assessment: do I dare try to thread that gap for the bonus or not? The long chains and being surrounded make it difficult to dump bad balls because each one pushes the whole thing toward death. Less casual perhaps but better gameplay at the top end. Trains you to play better and it's very gratifying when you pull off the tough shots. In this game it's shoot x40, use powerup if things went wrong, shoot x40, next level. [Yes, collecting the dropping powerups is a decision, but they're not all that powerful--particularly the aiming one. If you're shooting straight up, there's no need for a line on the screen, whereas in Zuma if you're shooting at funny angles it's huge.

One thing this game does do is weight the colors of your balls toward those you need to stop a death. Didn't like that but it's a reasonable design choice. Worked well.

Sorry that was so rambling. I'm tired. Hope it made at least a little sense. Better than competent game today.

The reason no one really would pay for these games is because online sites such as: addictinggames.com, kongregate.com, or newgrounds.com, offer free games that require no download and I probably 20 times better than this. If you want good feedback, make good games.

Thanks for a 'Zuma' clone game. Thanks for the wonderful comments, too. The download and setup went quickly on my Windows XP - no issues with the new fix. Like the ability to 'buy' bonus items and plays like the 'Zuma' game. A nice change to the regular match-three's. Thanks. This one is a keeper!

Hi RosnSC comment #47, no I haven't even got that far yet. I've bought so many games since my accident, mainly as aids to pain releif as they help to distract me, but the nature of the drugs I have too take and possible damage to my nervous system I have very little staying power. I can play a game for only a few levels at a time unless like today I'm checking it out for review. I move from one game to another constantly, I've got well over a thousand games, so I'm sure you can appreciate why I'm not at that level yet, though it is in my favorite arcade games folder which contains between 60 or 70 titles. I only tend to play arcade games as a break from the bigger, more expensive games which I'm always buying as well. I've far too many I know, but as mentioned above they do serve more than just entertainment for me. I've offered to give quite a few away over the past several months, and somewhere in the forums are a list of several FPS, RPG and RTS games I've offered to give away free to interested community members. All are disc bound though and not internet downloads.

Okay Master of Defence, thanks for putting me straight. :) no offence meant, just an observation.

Pretty good Zuma-clone. The swapping between balls doesn't feel quite as responsive as I'd like, and the speed of the balls too quick for the first level. Also, the forward-most balls keep moving even tho' there is a gap between them and the rest of the pack. That kills one very useful Zuma strategy.

Thumbs up, tho'. Thanks for offering.

I like this style of game..... well, I did when it came out in it's first incarnation. This appears to be just a copy with some nice graphics. Don't get me wrong... I love the game graphics and appreciate the effort that goes into making them, BUT.... it is just a new face on an old idea. This makes it somewhat redundant, and it really doesn't seem like you are providing anything new or of value.

I'm right 'up there' with #38 (Dave and his wife), in that I love Zuma clones. I added my 'Thumbs Up' vote for this game as I have played it before with the free 60 minute trials. I have been hoping this one would be a giveawayoftheday offering, so was delighted to see it here today. Thanks GGOTD..:D

One thing I would like to see added to all of the software specs/requirements, in not only the download size, but required hard disk size as well. I have noted the two are very different - case in point is today's game, Inca Ball, which says it is 16.7 MB download size, but the installation info tells you "At least 52.5 MB of free disk space is required."

One last thing I would like to add is that some folks feel all match-3 games are alike, but actually they're not. Beezle, Bejeweled, and Inca Ball to name just a few, are all match-3s, but are very different from one another.

BTW, Stephen (WR), you mentioned playing Luxor (in comment #15); did you get past Stage 8-4, by chance? I have played that thing probably 'a million' times, and can't get past it.

I really enjoy these type of games. The game I'd love to see rerun is Alien Shooter. That was the one I really had to exercise lots of self control to stop playing and get to my chores. 'scuse my appallingly mixed up post above, I usually use word, but the computer I'm using at the moment is a relatively new build (Dec 07 and I've not installed office yet, so relied on wordpad, none of my bullet points or justification transferred correctly as it does with word (partially). Also I was in a hurry to get ready for Hydro'.

Suzanne is correct. Azteca Ball is the same game as todays offering using a different name. Most games given away from GameTop are similarily changed. For example the game Azangara that was given away several weeks ago is called Dungeon Rider, and Race Cars: The Extreme Rally, given away less than a week ago is called Real Racing on GameTop. The advantage of getting these games from GameTop is that you can download them and install them any day, but the advantage of the Giveaway versions is that you don't get the browser opening to the home page when you close the game down.

My full review will be a little late today as my physiotherapist (Hi Becky) really pushed me to my limits today, so I need a sleep. :)
