Throngs of enemy armour are spreading in your sector while your single tank is everything that stands between the enemy armada and your HQ. This game is a real gift for all the old-school fans of Battlecity and its clones, as it incorporates all the features of the the original title, adding some new and really good ones. First at all, the game is rendered in a full 3D with a possibility to tilt your camera to get a better viewpoint. Note that your tank turns smoothly, so the various ambush tactics can be implemented.
But sadly the uninstall program fails to uninstall it at all on my machine via the shortcut in start menu, via programs and features and if running uninstall.exe directly. A thirdparty uninstallation tool or manual deletion needs to be done:(

Oops, stumbled on the name after I wrote that. BlueScreenView is the program. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
And there's both 32 and 64 bit portable versions, too. Which I prefer. Anything which doesn't have to be installed in a system can't cause any permanent problems to a system. But, to each his own. If you insist on an installer version, there is one. But, something this simple, really doesn't require an installer, IMHO.

You should understand that the message your getting is generic and doesn't point to any specific solution. An "appcrash" is a generic term that can be used anytime an application is trying to do something and fails. Apps work by going through a list of steps, or jobs, that are called functions. All the functions needed are organized into a "stack" of jobs, to put it roughly. So a stackhash is also a generic term for the list of jobs that an app was trying to process through. The information from a stackhash can be analyzed by a programmer, but the info that's presented to a user - for an example, "exceptions" are what happens when one of the attempted jobs fails, usually because the software was trying to do something in memory that windows regards as unsafe, therefore illegal - is usually too generic to be useful.
What I'm saying is a notice with the words appcrash, stackhash, and exception really doesn't provide the user anything to work with. Here are some general steps, if there are any you haven't done, Jerusa. http://infopurge.tumblr.com/post/10438725843/what-is-stackhash . Also, there are some free programs that can translate Windows crashes closer into plain language, though the name of the one I use escapes me at the moment. Blue Screen is in the name. Usually it will tell you which Windows module or driver isn't playing well with the game. Often, it will list your graphics driver, and, on that line, you should always make sure your video card or built-in video chip drivers are up to date. Also, besides those suggestions, you should also look into "DEP exceptions".

"There is no desktop or Start menu shortcuts intalled"
It did install a desktop icon on my system, with no option offered during install to not do so; it also created a folder in my start menu.
"Control your spacecraft with keyboard or joystick"
I found no option to use a joystick, so had to play by keyboard only; not a dealbreaker by itself (for this game) but definitely an issue.

Downloaded/installed fine on Vista 64-bit
I think it's pretty fun and I'll keep it for a bit, but it could be better.
The sound effects aren't great, especially flying past the gates. Pretty loud and annoying. Surely there's a better sound they could have used!
I don't mind the simple graphics, but the blur when you're at full speed was also kind of annoying. Even the HUD was blurry. Probably intentional, which just makes it worse. It was giving me a headache, all that blurriness.
Gameplay itself was fun enough. Challenging and tests the ol' hand-eye coordination. I don't really know what all the power-ups did, but I aimed for them all. Hope there weren't any negative ones in there, like what they do with those brick breaker games...
It could look and sound better, but thumbs up overall.

I do ot do well with games that are keyboard instead of mouse controlled so I do not plan on downloading today's game but I am pretty sure there are a lot of people who come here that will want it. Thank you for the offer, though. I'll be back tomorrow.

BOO! HAHA! Did I scare you?
Round here RPG means REALLY (R) PRETTY (G) GIRL (G) but I don't think that's what you mean when you use it. You mean ROLE (R) PLAYING (P) GAME (G) don't you? We need some RPGs for RPGs!
This might be the closest we get to a Doctor Who game! If one of the locked spaceships turned out to be the TARDIS, that would absolutely blow my mind up and turn it into brain juice! (Brain juice smells like grapes.) Spinning through the space time continuum!
EERrwWwoooooSHHHhEERrwWwoooooSHHHhEERrwWwoooooSHHHh
BUT BUT BUT (I like BIG butts and I cannot lie!) can't you fly your police box with your mouse? (Here I come to save the day!) DO you have to use all those key strokes?
Have FUN FUN FUN (til your momma takes your T-Bird away) at the theme park today, Stephen White Rabbit! I hope all the themes are the themiest ever!

I think you are doing a great job and I appreciate your time. Moderating is a tremendous responsibility and a time user. I would not be able to handle it as well as you do.

You REALLY need someone to help with moderation. It's annoying to wait to see what people are saying.

Still finishing up Evil Pumpkin from last weekend; really ended up loving it! Good thing I still have a tiny bit to go in that (on the last chapter) since today's type of game is not my cuppa tea. But did want to wish all a spook-tacular Halloween!

For starters, I just want to signal that the game.giveaway.com TICKER is NOT visible on a forum (where xilolee put it as xilolee's sign). It isn’t visible even in the “Spread the word” section of this website.

"I submitted the G/GAOTD setup.exe to virustotal, jotti, metascan-online, and virscan" isn't true: I submitted the entire package to virustotal, jotti and metascan-online; only on virscan, I submitted the setup.exe.
On metascan-online –> Fortinet has failed to scan the setup.exe and virit engine was updating (usually it reports Trojan.Win32.DownLoader16.CH) but the other forty-two engines found nothing.

For starters, I just want to signal that the game.giveaway.com TICKER is NOT visible on a forum (where I put it as my sign).
It isn’t visible even in the Spread the word section of this website.
I submitted the compressed package, and the unzipped files, to WinDefender, SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and EmsiSoft Emergency Kit (those programs are installed or portable on this PC): no problems detected.
I submitted the G/GAOTD setup.exe to virustotal, jotti, metascan-online, and virscan: virustotal and jotti found nothing, FPROT scan engine on virscan found W32/Felix:P:Lastsect_unkn!Eldorado, that I considered as false positive, on metascan-online –> Fortinet has failed to scan and virit engine was updating (usually it reports Trojan.Win32.DownLoader16.CH) but the other forty-two engines found nothing.
The game installed well on windows 10 (standard/home) x64.
It needed/requested to install/enable the DirectPlay windows legacy feature (you can/should find it in Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features - turn windows features on or off).
I had to enable/tick/select Disable display scaling on high DPI settings in its properties – compatibility tab, because I’m using high DPI settings (150%).
The game started and finished without problems.
Thanks for this game, as usual, to Whiterabbit-uk (aka Stephen), to GGAOTD and to Huly-Gun Soft!!!

Hyper Tunnel 3D:
Installation:
Hyper Tunnel 3D downloads as a 29.2 MB zip file that unpacks to a read me document that contains the terms and conditions and a wrapped dual activation and set up module and a security set up file (setup.gcd). Just for the newcomers amongst today’s users that means the game will be registered once it’s gone through the set up process, so there’s no registering the game with an activation code.
There are desktop and start menu shortcuts intalled. Sometimes I've found the installation path shows the previous game I installed from this site, so to be sure you don't install the game inside a previous game, check the installation path when you start the installation. You can usually find where it's supposed to go by looking in the read me file that comes with the download. To stop this happening, clear your cache. The installed game is 26.7 MB in size.
If you have any problems installing or registering Hyper Tunnel 3D, check the problems section below.
Introduction:
Reference accessed HERE Oct 31st 2015
The Game:
Options:
You can select full screen from the default windows mode by accessing the options menu. Ther eis also slider controls for sound and gamma. There are two modes, free fly and tournament.
Controls:
Speed controls - forwards and backwards rrowturning - left & right arrow keys
Boost - Shift
Hide/show Help - F1
Gameplay:
The overlay (HUD) shows the speed of the craft, the time taken, the orientation and damage to your craft
There are several ships but all but the first one (called a Viiper) are locked. You can change the color of the craft by selecting the palette symbol in the top left hand corner. Each craft has its the base speed, acceleration maneuverability and durability indicated on the selection page. The Viper being the weakest craft available.
Training mode:
Tournament mode:
During flight you can pick up power ups such as boosts, repairs and plus or minus second counters. You should avoid the plus counters as they add seconds to your time. If you crash into a barrier you damage your ship, but damage can be repaired via the repair power up. Each time you hit something the damage indicator to the bottom left will change color from Green to red.
I love this type of game, but I found Hyper Tunnel 3D a little too simple and it lacked any real imaginative levels or variation in game play apart from having two modes, with each level looking remarkably similar to the previous one. The tournament mode was very challenging (for me at least), despite playing similar games regularily. I played the first level in tournament mode at least 15 times and always finished in 38 seconds despite picking up boosts and time power ups that subtracted from my times. Even though I was avoiding all obstacles and picking up power ups that reduced my time to the finish line I always seemed to be 1 second too slow. Then I remembered that there is a boost control and boost power ups, but these didn't seem to work at all. I was playing the demo, which may be the reason they didn't work???
For free and if you've got the odd five minutes spare, then this game is passable, but IMO it's not for long protracted sessions. I found the movement strained my eyes after 30 minutes or so of checking out this game and had to give up. I did notice there were three or four colored power-ups related to plus or minus time penalties. The red and blue colors are the most obvious. Red adds seconds to your overall score and blue subtacts from the score. The power-ups do change when playing the same level over and over.
Video:
You can see a video of the iOS version of Hyper Tunnel 3D (I couldn't find a video of version ported over to the PC; there are some changes, such as the HUD appearance, but I posted it becasue the game play is basically the same so that you can see further into the tournament mode as I couldn't get past the first level. Check it out HERE and HERE.
System Requirements:
OS: Windows XP,Vista,7,8,10
CPU: Pentium 4 2GHz or equivalent
RAM: 256MB

I haven't scored the game for the same reason as mentioned in the conclusion.

Problems:
If you have any problems installing or getting today's game working, please go HERE for help. I've posted most of the common problems and solutions in a FAQ thread, which you can find in the sticky section of the forums by following the above link.
If you are posting late in the day I would also suggest posting in the main giveaway forums; in the game discussion section, because I cannot moderate 24hrs a day over the weekend. I've created a thread HERE for that purpose. If you've installed the game but it doesn’t work for some reason, it should still be registered, so someone may be able to help at a later date. Unfortunately if your problem is actually downloading it, once the giveaway deadline is reached you will no longer be able to download the game unless you've already started downloading it before the cut-off. Sometimes you can still register the game after the giveaway has ended so long as you managed to start the download before the giveaway ends. I've tested this and the grace period lasts for up to 1 hour. Apart from the above instances; i.e. already installed, but having problems running the game, (with the possibility of receiving help from the community via the giveawayoftheday game discussion forum); or still downloading after the cut off period, but within the 1 hour grace period, or registering within an hour of the cut-off period. Once the giveaway period is over there’s nothing that can be done to get the game (unless its available from one of the free game sites) until the game is given away again (though that isn't always guaranteed).
It's worth checking the giveaway game discussion forums the day before the giveaways go live to see if we are getting a large sized file (I usually post a comment about approximately how large a file is, though if I'm particularily busy I may neglect to do this). It is especially important for those who have slow connections and even more so if the game is popular. We can have up to forty thousand (40 000) community members downloading over the 24 hour period, with the bulk of community members downloading in the first 12 hours of the giveaway going live, there is always a massive strain on the giveaway servers. The bigger the file size, the more community members will be downloading at any one time. Because the bandwidth is shared equally amongst all community members, downloads can become excruciatingly slow, so if you do have a slow connection, its important to start your download as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Because these games are free, the giveaway owners cannot invest in more bandwidth without compromising the whole project, so we have to be satisfied with what we have at present.
A download manager can help speed the download up and also protect the download in case of an interrpution. There's nothing as frustrating for those with really slow connections to have the connection break after an hour or so, then have to start from the beginning again. I would ask community members if you do have decent bandwidth please avoid using a manager as it does add to the number of downloads occuring at any one time, for example some download managers will download your requested file in up to 32 packets simultaneously, that will take 32 download spots, thus slowing down everyone else's download speeds. For those with slow downloads (due to having a slow connection e.g. a 2MB Broadband connection or less) I would advise using a download manager if the file is larger than around 200MB. My broadband connection is 100MBs, so I don't need to use a download manager, (I do have one called Internet Download Manager, but don't use it when downloading files from the giveaway site). For me a 1GB file usually downloads in about 1.5 minutes or less. My connection is quite a long way from the provider so it is slowed a little, but is still quite good at a download speed of around 12 to 14 MB's per second.
I hope the above goes some way in expalining why we sometimes have really slow downloads.
It’s always worth checking out the free games sites because sometimes the games we get here are also available for free from them. MyPlayCity (MPC) has the most with over 1000 games to choose from. Todays game isn't available from any of the free game sites, but you can get iOS versions really cheap. The game was originally released 4 years ago, but the ported version looks like it was updated this year.
If you do download any games from MyPlayCity, or the other free game sites please 'do' watch out for toolbars etc. Make sure you un-check the check-boxes during installation, and, in the case of MyPlayCity, every time you boot the game up, (this may have changed now as these free game sites tend to change the format frequently)....... I've posted links to all of the common free game sites below in the games, games games section. If you do download a game from any of these sites you do so at your own risk. We cannot be held responsible for problems arising from an installation recommended here. :)
For now I won't be recommending you download games from Jenkat Games. They have changed the way you get games from their site. Diane has posted information about this over in the game discussion forums. If I have time or remember, I'll link to it. TooMyk Games are now safe to download from. They have removed the games that were suspect and have cleaned up their act. As always, you download from those free game sites at your own risk. The giveaway site is the safest site I know of where you can get free software and games. The only disadvantages with downloading from here is you have to download and install within the day of the giveaway (apart from the instances mentioned above and if and when you upgrade or buy a new computer legally you aren't allowed to transfer games given away previously, unless they are being given away on the day you upgrade, or if you've purchased a licence. :)
You just have to look at the gamegiveawayoftheday sites track record since the game giveaway site was created back in December 2006. Zero games given away have been infected with malware, there are no toolbars installed, nor home pages hijacked or browsers changed. There is one slght annoyance, but that only occurs if a community member isn't paying attention when the final window pops up after installing a giveaway. That is the Software Informer installation. Some community members have complained that they were given no choice in its installation. That is not true; when the final window pops up, there are two buttons, one asking if you want Software Informer installed and the button to close the giveaway window down. Some community members have clicked on the wrong button, probably because they weren't paying attention. Thankfully Software Informer is a genuine application, that can easily be uninstalled by the usual means. It's actually a useful piece of software, especially if you have a lot of applications running on your computer. Basically the program will list the programs that need updating, or programs that have available updates. They wont be automatically installed (thus cancelling many giveaway registrations); you have to click on individual buttons to update each program/application. :D
Games, Games, and yet more Games:
There is a Halloween sale on at the moment with 2368 games on sale. There are some brilliant deals such as 50% off for the excellent Dying light and you can get one of my favorite zombie games Left 4 Dead 2 for only 2.99 (80% off). It's six years old now, but still a great looking game and it's a brilliant coop game with several different modes of play and hundreds of community made maps and mods. The weekend deals includes 80% off the excellent Hitman series, the latest in the series Hitman Absolution: Elite Edition (includes all of the dlc) released 3 years ago is only £3.99 or £2.99 for the basic game. There are far too many other great deals to mention here, just check out the specials section for all 2300+ titles on sale HERE.
There's loads more in the weekly sales and the 48 hours sales to choose from. almost certainly something for everyone. The next set of weekly sales starts on Monday with usually a few hundred titles added. :)
You'll also find some excellent deals over on the following Game sites.
GreenManGaming They usually have coupons to the value of 23% and sometimes more off pre ordered games. I've just pre ordered Just Cause 3 XL and XCOM 2 using a voucher and saved £22 on the price paid in the Steam store
Gamersgate Summer Sale
GOG (DRM free games)
Gamestop
GameFly (soon to be sold off)
I've removed the Desura link because the owners are bankrupt and there has been no activity on the site in months. The servers are still live (at least until Bad JoJo's subscription to the servers has ended, Bad JoJo are the owners of Desura and Indie Royale, or were until filing for bankruptcy). If you own any games via Desura I advise downloading all of the drm free games you have on that platform and on the Indie Royale site before the sites are taken down.
Free Game Sites:
MyPlayCity (over a 1000 games to choose from)
Gametop
FreeGamePick
To be honest there are too many game deals around too list them all. Just visit the sites I recommend above and I'm sure you'll find something that suits you for a very decent price. If like me you prefer Steamworks games, many of the above sites also sell steamwork games.
If that's not enough, check out the Game Discussion forums HERE for details of other games either free or on deals such as the Indie Game bundles (there's over 20 of them - If you purchased all of them you'd be paying around $80 for around a thousand dollars worth of games); or check out the four day sales at IndieGameStand. you'll find the indie bundles thread HERE. The thread is outdated, but all of the links will still take you to the latest bundles.
The latest IndieGameStand is Porcunipine:
During the great era of hairloss and death, balding porcupines fight courageously for their survival using their very last pointy hairs.
