This game has poor graphics, fuzzy resolution and confusing or non-existent ability to move from timed to normal mode. Sorry, the developers should have done better. Back to the drawing board on this one.

Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to download free games. To #14, and all others complaining of 60 minute trial, if you will read the readme.txt file first, then follow the directions (unzip, activate or setup), then you WILL get the complete full version. I happen to agree that this one is not a real winner, but I am delighted to have the chance to try it out. Thanks for being here.

I keep wanting to switch gems sideways,and It frustrates me because I can't.I see so many I could switch and make 3 in a row,and so little by just removing gems one by one.I guess I suck at this,lol.The graphics do look blurry in full screen,and the sound isn't that much better.I never really cared much about bejeweled but this game makes bejeweled look awesome!So I have come to the conclusion...the conclusion to remove this game.

Yes, it's another clone of a very common theme, the graphics and sound are nothing to rave about, but it works, it's free, and if you like this sort of game, it's worth every penny.

I wish you would say that the game isn't really free but only a free trial and that you only have an hour to play. It takes me a long time to download a game only to find out that i can't really keep it.

Gem Zone is, in it's own way, a step up intelectually from the "eye and ear candy" jewel matching game we have on our family pc. Gem Zone is not as glitzy and showy, HOWEVER, one must THINK differently and, as some one else has said here - it is not as easy as it looks. The instructions are helpful. I give it an 8. Would give it a 9 or 10 if the graphics were a bit more clearly defined. Definately a keeper :-)

I have just downloaded GemZone. I see some are having difficulty believing it to be a 60 minute trial version. The activation thingamajig is found in the folder. After I installed the Game I clicked on the activation in the folder, extracted those files and the game was registered as a full version - ready for previewing. If an old lady like me can do this - anyone can !! :-)

i am thankfull for we get free games everyday, BUT this game SUCKS!!!

This is another nice game thats going on my PC and Laptop. However Funny Arts needs to step up the resolution in the interface it uses in full screen. Just seems a bit pixelated and or blurry. Otherwise no problems with the game.

Just ok. Nothing spectacular. If your looking for peaceful music while passing the time, this is it.

This game tries to imitate Bejeweled but it's a very poor imitation. I agree with WhiteRabbit on the grainy graphics, they look better when the game is in windowed mode but still grainy. On fullscreen it is very grainy. #19 RR it's not your monitor, these graphics are fuzzy and they do need to be sharpened. It's bad enough that you can even see it on the main playing screen but look at the game instructions and it's even worse. They should not have used a script font if they were not going to sharpen the graphics and the text isn't centered or even left justified.

It doesn't play like Bejeweled or any of the many Bejeweled clones. You can't swap gems to create matches, you can only click on an obstacle jewel to make the one above it fall into place. That means you can't move anything from side to side, gems only move from the top down. I guess you could say that makes the game play more "strategic", but it really seems more like something that was left out rather than anything intentionally done for strategic game play. I usually like the games here or at least can find something to like about them. But not this one, it's a real dud and isn't worth the download. The developer should be embarrassed to try to sell this for $19.95 on any other day, it seems slapped together in a hurry with very little thought.

It also had a poor installer just like one of the other games from Funny Arts. The part where it asked for a choice to put the Start menu items again would only go one subfolder deep. I didn't want to take a chance on having my entire Games folder overwritten again like this kind of installer did before, so created a new Start menu folder first and put a few test shortcuts in there to see what it the installer would do. Sure enough, it overwrote the test shortcuts, leaving only it's own items in the folder. Installers should not do this, they should just toss the shortcuts to the bottom of the list and leave any other shortcuts in the folder intact.

Re: #14 Ron: Quit trolling for reactions, the games are all full versions. Try reading the very simple directions in readme.txt, it's in all the downloads.

Opps thought it was a screensaver. Thanks for the free game but its no means the best I've downloaded from GOTD. Back tomorrow. Happy Easter. :-)

I agree with Chloe, if you don't want it don't download it. I want to thank GOTD for the variety of games. Keep up the good work. To those who leave negative comments about things other then the games workings, plz get a life

To Ron (#14): Once again, like a poor, lost lamb, you bleat your ignorance for all to hear. Have you ever wondered why more people don't complain about these giveaways being "demo's" or crashing their computers? Did you ever stop to ask yourself why so many users would dowload software that could render their computers useless for 60 days and then simply vanish? Have you ever thought "What do they mean when they talk about different levels, music, options, etc? Are they hallucinating?"
Don't look now Ron, but you're the problem. You can't follow simple instructions or use a computer. And you ignore those who try to help. Each time you come back and blame the software or GOTD you just make yourself look more foolish.

I thought it would be another ho-hum three-in-a-row game but this one definitely has a twist to it! And it's NOT as easy as it looks!

Great game to play just before bedtime: The music is relaxing (yawn), and the gameplay is so boring that you don't care whether you win or lose after a while. Makes it easy to nod off without really trying--serene, hypnotic, floating-away environment. Might induce an out-of-body experience if you can stay awake long enough. Be sure to have a pillow nearby just in case.

Don't these game developers ever play their own games?

I can't believe the number of ungrateful people who leave comments on this site. Not every game or piece of software is going to be suited to everyone's taste. I understand a negative comment if the game has bugs or glitches but the others are completely unnecessary. If you don't like or want what's offered simply don't download!

You are so very, very, wrong. For a game like this, "Uninstall support" is the most important feature it could have.

The game could not be activated by GOTD, eventhough the game installed properly. As a result, I am left with 60 min of game play

I never say bad things about a free program, The colors were nice, the sounds were ok except for the annoying sound when you ran out of time.
Want to make it a better game? Fix it so I get diagonal scoring.

I enjoy these types of games. I have a busy, stressful life and playing these types of games helps me to relax and mellow out. However, this one will not be on my list of favorites. Click one gem to make rows of three? Not fun, just annoying, to me. Sorry to the software makers. Thanks GOTD!

hey these games are free on a one time install only, if your pc goes on the blink or u buy a new pc, and u try to install it using the program u downloaded when it is free at the time, but not no more,,you end up with a trial period,,,,but thats ok, at least it lets us try it for as long as that one pc dont go on the blink,,,lol.

People should just comment on the game itself. You like it or not - we don't need sarcasm. You can tell us if you see a problem with it or what is good about the game. Rating the game is also a good way for me to download or not. I usually try it and if I don't like it I uninstall - how hard is that.

Nope not for me..I downloaded, tried it and uninstalled it after 30 minutes of game play, I would have taken it off sooner but was willing to give it at least 30 minutes of trying it..

A variation on a popular theme of 3 (or more) in a row games. Here are my comments on the game:
- Have the game default to "Normal" mode instead of "Timed" mode. It will give people a chance to learn the game before it ends.
- In "Timed" mode, change the "...times running out" sound to something that goes along with the "look" of the game...I was wanting to "raise my shields" when I first heard the alarm!
- Take the time to format the Instructions section; use left-justification, bullet points, etc. The font could also be more legible...a little detail goes a long way in making a good impression.

Don't understand the crabbing. It's free and it's fun. What more do you want???

no point to the game - hard on the eyes (maybe better on a better monitor?) I usually like 3 in a row, but I found this one frustrating and there is no way to tell if you are "winning" the level or not - how do you know how close you are to the next level? No way to move side to side - just click fast enough to slide them down. Sorry - first 3 in a row found to be disappointing. Sharpen the graphics, make it *more* challenging by limiting the times you can remove a gem, allow sideways movements? there are just so many of these type out there, that they have done everything! - put a ticker for *next level* and maybe include a cool story line - the music is nice though. I might let my kids play with it a day or two before deleting and see what they think of it. I'ld give the game a 3 maybe.
