The game carries elements of a reverse tower defense and a grounded bullet-hell dodger to deliver a unique gameplay experience presented in a classic top-down perspective.

Installed fine in Win 10 64-bit. However, it occasionally crashes when it's starting a match-3 game (as opposed to interacting with the aquarium.) Pity: the game is excellent, from what I've seen of it so far, apart from the occasional crashes.

{And wasn’t there something using the Fishdom name that actually wasn’t a match-3?}

Yes, there was a 'Fishdom H20' that had some hidden object parts included as I recall.

I realized after my post that the solution may have been related to my device setup. I have an RCA 32 inch TV attached to the computer using a Startek VGA to USB connector. Occassionally there are updates for the driver software. I recall that there was a recent update which I had not really thought about. The software update may be responsible for the games now working. But I cannot say for sure.

Cute little game. I've not played any Fishdom games since I bought a disk of their holiday collection for my old XP PC a number of years ago. Downloaded to my Win 7/64 only after momentarily disabling my virus protection. I'd tried twice before and kept getting a msg. I've seen only a handful of times before when downloading from your site. Just a momentary disable does the trick. Thank you GGAOTD for your work each weekend.

Hi!
I didn't have this Fishdom game, so will be nice to play a new one. It took a few minutes to download on 8.1.
Pley is easy and the graphics are great! Different tanks to build on. Not sure I like taking time to feed the fishes so
much, but still very enjoyable!! I played through a few levels with no problems! Thanks for another great game
and have a good week! Lee

Same problem here. I played up to level 3 I think, crashed. BLueScreen. Uninstalled. Clean installed the game again. Played to level 6 - Crashed. PC crashed. Blue screen. I am on Windows 7 and a big fan of Playrix (I have a few of their games to are no problem at all.)

Hi Stephen (and anyone else who cares to read this),

My beagle had me up early this morning with his digestive issue, so I put him out and decided to check GGOTD. I was thrilled to see Fishdom 3, although it was so early in the giveaway that no comments were posted. but I jumped right into downloading then playing. This is so much fun!! I wish I could talk to my fishes, or as another person commented: go swimming with them! The music is very similar to other Fishdoms, and I usually lower the volume. There is a lot going on which is almost too much but lots of fun. I haven't figured out if there is a place that shows me a list of my fish (I want to get pairs eventually, but can't remember all their names and it's hard to catch up with them while they're swimming). I noticed there are two kinds of levels: the gameboards and the progress levels that unlock various fish/plants/ornaments/etc. I also discovered something called Inventory, but have no idea of its function. I've only worked on the first tank, but as with other Fishdoms, will progress to designing themed tanks. Thanks so much to Playrix and GGOTD for this wonderful diversion - I will be entertained for weeks, months...

Hello. Since there seem to be a few negative comments from people with problems, I thought I might balance things out and share my positive experiences.

A month or so ago I had an unresponsive mouse problem (not a positive experience) but an old friend's daughter's friend's brother with fifty computer repairs to his credit got me an updated mouse driver so I could save recent files and then I ran a complete system recovery. I'd done one of those a year before and had all my older data saved to DVD restore discs but they would not unpack normally so I checked for alternate methods and downloaded the free 7-zip.
I also picked up the phone one day when it rang and someone from AT&T told me their high speed DSL service was being eliminated and my neighborhood was being migrated to U-Verse. They gave me a gift card to balance out the installation fee and the cost is lower than what I was paying before (for the first year at least).
And I also went ahead and did that Windows 10 upgrade thing.

Well, thanks to those four developments - running a clean, restored to factory settings computer with Windows 10 on U-Verse and using 7-zip - I's say my download speeds are astronomically faster than they used to be.

In the past month or so, yes, I had at least one GGOTD game give me trouble (though it uninstalled just fine), one I needed to download 3 times, and one that I got and just didn't like.
On the other hand, we had a second Gardenscapes (I loved the first one, it was the most addictive and fun HOG ever). Yesterday's Cubetractor, in spite the somewhat retro feel of the graphics, is quirky and different.
And the last time I posted a comment here I mentioned that I would love to see any Fishdom reposts, so I was very pleased with today's offering - apparently not a repost but a new game.

Look, I know this sort of information is out there in the webs but can anyone just tell me here how many of these Fishdom Games there have been? Today's is "3" (somehow they refrained from calling it "Fishdom 3 in 3-D") and I'm certain in the past I've had 1 and 2 and the Christmas/Holiday themed one (a favorite) and I think there might have been a Halloween themed edition as well? And wasn't there something using the Fishdom name that actually wasn't a match-3?

Well, I'm having an excellent Internet experience and thank you for both of this weekends games. See you next weekend.

Think the antivirus problem is because of PUP Protection, Potentially Unwanted Programs. Avast has an option to turn it on or off.

Installed fine on Win 10. Relatively small game. Smooth play with great graphics. Music gets annoying, but not as bad as many other match 3 games. Sound effects are entertaining for a while. Probably the best Match 3 game out there.

One of the neat features of this version of Fishdom is it allows long user names. This is one of the few games that will allow me to use my god given name, Raymond Luxury Yacht.

If you like this game, you will like Farmscapes. Instead of building fish tanks, you build 3 farms.

I am having the same problem, and had it with one of the games last week. The download goes fine, and when I click on the setup, the activation window comes up after a little bit, but the setup for the game never runs. I use AVG, and turned it off, but it still didn't work. running Win7 64-bit.

I wanted it and it works fine in Windows 8.1

My wife has this game and has enjoyed it but I had not been able to get Playrix games working. NOW Fishdom 3 Works! Since I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, the free GAOTD Playrix games that I had would not work. I made a post about this not working possibly on Playrix site.. As of today, Gardenscapes and Fishdom 3 are working. An older program Fishdom 2 was tried but it seems to be restricted to a small playing area so that I cannot get to about three quarters of the screen. But perhaps Playrix will fix this over time. Or maybe it is just something that Microsoft has fixed in Windows 8.1. or something else.

I've owned this game since it came out. I have all of the fishdom games. The graphics are cute and done very well. If you watch the fish they make fun comments and play together. I like the added steps of cleaning the tank and feeding the fish. The music is very fun and calypso like, I usually have it turned down low so it isn't overwhelming. I don't like that items are locked until you reach a certain level. That means you have to purchase items you may not want to get to the next level. This version also limits the number of fish you can have in the tank at each level. I hope if they make a new version that they remove these limitations. Other than that love the game and looking forward to a new version with new fish and new decor. Another HOG version would be great! I'm a big fan of the Playrix games.

Fishdom 3! EXCELLENT! I didn't have this one before.

It works just fine on my Win 10 laptop (only a few days since the upgrade, so everything is still being played by ear) and of course, it's a simple matter to turn the sound down or off by using the laptop controls, even if the Options Menu doesn't work. (But it does.)

Had a quick go to make sure it worked, and all is well. No time to write more now - those fishies are getting hungry!

P.S. Enjoy your well-earned holiday, Whiterabbit. We're all busily occupied in your absence . . .

:-D

@ Camp... I think that this kind of post (by TerriMarie), phrased in this polite language, is TOTALLY appropriate for the forum. If there are other tastes in games out there, then the vendors/programmers need to know it and GGAOTD management needs to see it so that they can try to get a variety. We've actually had a bit of variety of late, but does not eliminate the need for specifics tastes to be expressed.

I absolutely love this game. I never thought there would be another Fishdom better that the others. I'm not sure what the actual etiquette is on this site. I have a big list of things I really like about this game, but I can sum it up with the first sentence. I thought that it would be long reading for everyone....keep it short is the way I've decided to go today.

I feel knit picky about this, but Playrix would like suggestions. The background behind the actual playing board distracts me (just a statement). I love the detail of the background, but maybe a little lighter might be nice. Some may not be bothered by this so a control for this could actually please us all.

Thanks Playrix and GGOTD for a fabulous game. This truly made my day.

Fishdom is awesome one of the best match three games i have ever played and have enjoyed the whole series. Thanks GGOTD.

Just one Thing I havent been here for a while and I noticed that you can only make one download of the Giveaway software on both sites. It would be nice to make multiple downloads as most house holds have multiple computers and if the GOTD wrapper is programed to read an IP address then you seem to get only one download to enjoy for one computer as with todays download both myself and girlfriend both enjoy this game but she could not get it on her computer.

So if you would like to have this game on multiple PC's then download the Game on a single computer, then use a Usb stick to transfer the game folder to another computer and it should work.

Go to my computer in the start file then click on the C: Drive, Look for program files and open that folder, Then Look for the Playrix Folder and open that Folder. If you have many playrix Games in that folder like I do then Highlight the Fishdom 3 folder. then goto your start menu again and open my computer again and open a usb stick folder. Leaveing both windows open drag one off to the side abit, click on the Fishdom 3 Folder with your left mouse button and hold the button down and with your other hand press the Ctrl button on the Key board and Drag the folder over to the other window and you should get a prompt to copy the folder and its contents to the usb stick. click Yes.

Then put the usb stick in another computer when its done and click on the start menu in the new computer and choose the C: Drive and open that window and leave it open. Then Go to the start menu and open your Usb stick in another window. This time do the same thing but in Reverse, Highlight the Fishdom 3 folder in the usb stick with your mouse holding down the button and with your other hand press the Crtl button on your keyboard and drag the folder over to the C: drive and it will prompt you to copy the folder click yes

Then all you have to do is add a short cut to your desktop to play the game do this by right clicking on a empty space on your desktop and choose new Short cut and a window will open to place a short cut, Click on the Browse button and another window will open to show the folders double click on the , my computer then C: folder to expand it, then scroll to the Fishdom 3 folder and expand it. then click on the Fishdom 3 exe file and click ok then click next and then finish and you will have a new fishdom 3 icon on your desktop and your game should play as a fresh install.

Would be nice if giveaway of the day allowed mutiple downloads instead of doing all this, But Great Game!

Hi Ron,

You can reuse the unpacked files to reinstall onto a different computer, just copy the extracted files or the original zipped file to a pen drive or upload to your cloud and copy onto your other computers. The actual files are not limited to one installation.

I've loved all the iterations of Fishdom since like forever. Fishdom 3 is lots of fun, and as another poster said, it's great having a relaxed mode. Sadly, you still can't stop the game from giving you "the next hint"---if you quit clicking even for a few seconds, just to look around, the game annoyingly prompts you, even with the Hints disabled! I'd love to see the end of that. You get plenty of bombs and lightning to explode; sometimes more than you want LOL but sometimes when you DO want a power-up in order to complete a board, you don't get one and just have to play it out. That's Fishdom for ya! I'll play it for a good while.

This is the best of the best and if I didn't already own it I'd be thrilled at today's GGoTD. It's the only casual game I still play, and the kids like it too.

#3 @ Walter Snodgrass, of course you can change the volume of the music. Before you hit the play button notice there are other buttons, one of which says "Options." (Hint, it's on the far left.) Click on that for the controls of both sound effects and music. At any time during game play the menu button will take you back to options where you can control the sounds. My three-year-old grandson does this, much to my annoyance.

Did you check the options? I had no problem turning the music off. I'm not sure you even tried the game. I have played every
Fishdom game and this is by far one of the best match three. It's a shame when people don't really explore or try something new. Loading the game and playing one screen is not giving it a fair shake. If you like Match 3 games then this is a great game.
Playing on Win 10 and no problems with installation or game play.

This is the best fishdom yet. You even get to name your fish. Lots of new action such as uncovering treasures buried in the dirt. Great animation. Lots to do. I like that you can turn off the sound and there is a relaxed mode.
Would love it if developers added an opportunity for me to become a diver with the fish.
Thanks GOTD and White Rabbit. Have a great vacation. I know what I'll be spending my time doing today.

OK, I tried this before and it's not even showing as waiting for moderation so I'll try again.

To #4 (DA Myst) - I read on the forums that there is a problem with the installs under Windows 10. It's just not working. I'm sure they're trying to fix the issue.

For any users who want this game but have Windows 10 already installed, you can get the game from GameTop or MyPlayCity.

Yes, you do have to watch out for hijacking with these sites but that's similar to any install from anywhere now. They all do that as well as try to get you to install something else (these two sites don't do that).

Yes, there is the issue of your default browser opening when you close down the game. That's minor and can often be circumvented (especially with MyPlayCity).

At least you can get the game for free!

Played for a few minutes and love it! Playing on Windows 10. To Walter Snodgrass, the music can be turned off by clicking on the little menu button on top right--is is small, but there! I usually turn the music off first in any game I play, so I was concerned when I saw your comment, but it's all good now!

Turing down or off the music or sound effects is easy peasy. You click options. (Who would have thought it?) The controllers are half the size of your screen. All you have to do is slide the lil bars to the left to turn down the wonderful Tiki music.

There is nothing wrong with the animation either. Perhaps you should hop on over to the forum and find out why your computer is all messed up.

Installed and ran on Windows 10 Home with no issues. Also had no problem turning down the music or sound effects - I have to agree the Caribbean-themed music is rather annoying. I did the install the usual way - by right-clicking on the Setup.exe file and choosing "Run as administrator" from the pop-up menu. If you're having problems with the install, you might want to give that a shot.

It's a Fishdom game - if you like the previous versions, you'll most likely enjoy this one too. Nuff said.
