The third part of puzzles on the theme of fantastic characters. The game is very simple, as it was created for your relaxation and does not require special attention. The game has 10 levels, where each level consists of 16 elements that must be rotated in the desired direction and dragged into place. At the beginning of the level, you see an image for 5 seconds and then it disappears. In this version of the game, the help button is removed, as it was in previous games, since the levels are very simple. The game will help you relax and have fun. There is a choice of levels and you can start playing from the level you choose. The game will delight you with nice graphics and calm music.

In Brief:
The third Fantastic Heroes puzzle is another jigsaw from GameRea (via Falcoware Games). They have previously given us over twenty other puzzle games (Jigsaw and swap tiles) over the last six months; i.e. Motorcycle Puzzle (17th March 22) , Future Puzzle (15th March 22) , Flea Market (11th March 22), Fantastic Heroes Puzzle (10th Feb 22), Quick Tiles (19th Jan 22), Old Paintings, Winter Mood (24th Nov 21), Old Canvases 3 (22nd Nov 21), Old Canvases 2 (19th Nov 21), Old Canvases (15th Nov 21), Terrible Puzzles (12th Nov 21), Fantastic Puzzles 2021 (20th Oct 21), Street Art Puzzles (30th Sept 21), Grim Puzzles (27th Sept 21), Old Paintings (22nd Sept 21), Colourful World (21st Sept 21), Transport Puzzle (20th Sept 21), Statue Puzzles (17th Sept 21), Autumn Mood Puzzles (16th Sept 21), as well as other games such as the swap tile puzzles Planet of the Fat Men (13th Jan 22), Quick Tiles (31st Dec) and Quick Puzzles (23rd Dec 21) and a racing game called Traffic Racing (23rd Sept 21). Todays puzzle is one of the smaller variety with only sixteen puzzle pieces on a 4x4 grid to each of the ten puzzles.

The Game:
Fantastic Heroes Puzzle 3 is a 16 piece puzzle with square elements and ten futuristic hero images. The game opens to a main menu that also features two of the puzzles images. The main menu allows you to either start from the first puzzle immediately by selecting 'Play', or choosing which of the ten puzzles you wish to start with by pressing 'Select Puzzle. You can also see the various key bindings and mouse controls by clicking on the 'Control' button (see the third image above).

Along the bottom of the puzzle grid are four buttons with a timer in the middle. The first two buttons toggle the sound on and off, the third button restarts the puzzles timer from the beginning and gives you a five second look at the completed image; when you restart a puzzle like this it all the pieces of the puzzle reorient differently, but remain in the same positions on either side of the 4x4 grid. The fourth button advances to the next puzzle until you get to the tenth puzzle, where it then takes you back to the level selection screen; to return to the main menu from the level selection screen click on the back arrow located on the left of the ten thumbnail images. When you start any puzzle, the 16 elements are located to the left and right of the 4 x 4 grid; eight on each side.

When placing pieces in the correct position they are not locked in place like previous jigsaw puzzles we've received from another developer (via Falcoware Games) called Uniden. Also, if you place a piece wrongly it does not jump back to the periphery like some of the Uniden puzzles we've had previously, you have to drag them back manually.

Conclusion:
Although each jigsaw puzzle is relatively short there are 10 puzzles to complete. With only 10 images to solve it shouldn't take an adult more than 15 to 25 minutes to solve the whole lot, making it an ideal coffee break puzzle, though in my opinion it's not worth the usual $5 asking price when this giveaway ends tomorrow morning. As I'm mentioned previously all of the various GameRea puzzles should be combined into a single jigsaw puzzle, then it would probably be worth the $5. That said as we are getting this free today, the suggestion is moot.

It would have been nice to have each of the e images labelled with the name of the image and/or the artist.

The very first jigsaw puzzle we were given back in February 2018 was called 'The Infinite Jigsaw Puzzle', which had an amazing amount of configurability, such as the ability to change the shape of the puzzle pieces, change the number of elements from a 24 to a 1024 piece puzzle as well as the ability to upload any image you had. You can see that giveaway HERE. A couple of the community suggested other free and shareware jigsaw puzzles that also have the ability to upload your own images and select different shapes and sizes e.g. the free Astra Gift Maker HERE, and from the same site BigJig HERE and Lena Games for a selection of other jigsaws HERE. You can also do a free daily jigsaw curtesy of Shockwave HERE
There's also shareware versions that are very configurable for example Jigsaws Galore HERE and BrainsBreaker HERE. You'll almost certainly be able to find lots more free and commercial jigsaws just by Googling free Jigsaws. :)

If you are stuck for images to upload to the above free jigsaw games (which I doubt), there are a plethora of sites that offer free images; one of my favourites that I've visited often is called Digital Blasphemy, where you can download free versions of commercial images that are ideal for the above free and commercial jigsaw puzzles. You can find Digital Blasphemy HERE.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found 6 hit/s (VBA32, Anti-AVL, GData, Jiangmin, McAfee, McAfee-GW-Edition from 60 antimalware engines. Most of these six hits are amongst only several antimalware suites that often tag Falcoware Games compared to most better known and more reliable antimalware engines; so, it's very likely to be a false positive. Most of GameRea's jigsaw puzzles have been either clear of any hits or have varied. This has been the most I've seen so far. I installed the game, and have tested it. I've not received any warnings from my own security and get no pop ups etc. If you want to err on the ultra safe side, use a sandbox program to check the game first. There are free ones such as Sanboxie, GeSWall, BitBox, Windows Sandbox, Bufferzone (a six month commercial license was given away via the applications side of the project back in December 2009 HERE), Shadowzone, as well as others. (You'll find them all on the same page from Techwhoop.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that only opens your browser once to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and also places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed).

The installation DOES NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page following the games installation, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. Once you've installed the game, there are no more browser redirections. This is because Falcoware removed their installer over a year ago (that installer would show an advert for a game and then open your browser each time you played and then closed the game down.)

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Whiterabbit-uk,

Today is your last chance to grab a copy of Knockout Checkers Chamber via Steam. The developer is removing the game from sale. I don't know what time this will occur. Things usually happen around 6pm UK time, but that's not set in stone. See the Steam section below for a link to the game.
Free or Discounted Games:
Please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE (non-Steam games) and HERE (Steam games) for the latest freebies. It's kept up to date frequently, (thanks for keeping this up to date Delenn, very much appreciated).

Steam Games:
For the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' order by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB (the Steam database) with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green and those in blue are on your wish list. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see the percentage off as 100%. It's worth checking this regularly to make sure you don't miss the best deals and freebies. Delenn usually posts links to all free games within several hours of them going live, so check her links in the first paragraph above.

If you have a Steam account and like to collect soon to be removed games, there are at least five that I know of (thanks to Delenn) that are being removed soon. i.e. Gods Remastered a classic platformer from the early 90's that includes both the original and the remastered is being removed from Steam on the 27th March due to licensing issues. It's on sale with 90% off (£0.79/$0.99) until removal (a fantastic bargain) .

Also being removed from Steam TODAY is Knockout Checkers Chamber; unfortunately there is no discount at the time of posting. The reason for removal: the developer decided to delete the game from the Steam store because of a new company policy.

Three more games are being removed from Steam by the developer FarSky Interactive sometime in April; two are on sale for 70% off at the moment i.e. Far Sky and The free Ones. Sky Break is still full price, but we may see it reduced in a final sale before the games are removed?

If you've purchased any game that is later removed from the Steam store, you will still always be able to access it via your Steam library despite it no longer being available via Steam.
Indie Gala:
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; the most recent additions include:
1) ... Vroom Racing ( ... Drive a Formula 1 car upon 18 worldwide tracks : Reach 380 Km/h and beat the ghost !)

2) ... Out of Puberty: Chapter 1 (graphic novel, contains adult themes and NOT suitable for children.)

3) ... Trainpunk Run (ReRUN ... “fly and shoot” in a steampunk environment.)

4) ... Last Dream ( ... a sprawling RPG maker like game)

5) ... Little Kite (ReRUN ... a point-and-click story driven adventure.)

6) ... Spring Bonus (NEW ... Match Three)

Check the freebie section for the latest additions; if you've not visited for a while, also check the Showcase section for older freebies. All or most new freebies should be on the first page of the Showcase pages. We have been given over 340 games since I started to check the freebie section in 2018. But around 60% of those are no longer available free. The following recent freebies have now been removed from the free library: Pixel Puzzles 2: Paintings , Hamsterdam, Copperbell, Chainsaw Warrior, Leisure Suit Larry 2 Looking For Love (In Several Wrong Places), Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards , Figment, Pixel Puzzles 2: Space, Revolution Ace, Six Sides of the World, Byte Family, Alone on Mars, Garfield Kart, Nostradamus the Last Prophecy, Snowball, Pixel Puzzles 2: Christmas , Die Young (Full version), Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner, and Contract with the Devil.

Any game you claim while it's being offered is DRM free and will remain in your Indie Gala library permanently (unless Indie Gala goes bust) and can be downloaded at any time, under the showcase or freebie section; 115 games are still available. Not all games that go into the showcase remain free and are removed after a short period; e.g. the recent adventure puzzler Figment that costs almost £15 on Steam; so, you should grab them as quickly as you can. To find your games go to your account and from the drop down menu select 'My Library'. When the page opens find the 'Showcase' button in the banner along the top of the page and, from the drop down menu select 'Showcase'. There are only 8 games per page, so, if like me you have added hundreds to your account/library. Each page from your free list can take 30 or more seconds to move to the next page so it can take a good twenty minutes to get to the last page depending on how many of the free games you've claimed.
CD Keys:
Another decent site that you should check out regularly is CD Key HERE. They have some very good discounts on top notch AAA games for all the popular platforms (PC, PSN, Xbox, Nintendo), sometimes as much as 99% off. for example Madden NFL 22 is only £0.39 (usually £49.99), Grand Theft Auto V Premium Ed' 84% off (£7.99), Sims 4 85% off (£5.99), Star Wars The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition £1.79 , Dying Light Platinum Edition 92% off (£5.29 - includes 22 of the paid for 26 DLC's, with a further 11 free DLC's available.), Assetto Corsa 83% off (£3.99), Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition 91% off (£2.99), Civilization VI Platinum Edition 91% off (£8.99), Cities Skyline 90% off (£3.09), Hitman GOTY Ed' 92% off (£3.99), Sniper Elite 4 83% off (£6.99), Stellaris 99% off (£0.19), The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series 86% off (£5.49), Battlefield V 85% off (£7.39), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 89% off (£0.79), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II : The Sith Lords 89% off (£0.79), Planet Coaster 83% off (£4.99), Injustice 2 92% off (£3.99), Kerbal Space Program 85% off (£4.49) this is included in the Stand with Ukraine bundle, Fallout 3 GOTY Ed' 80% off (£2.99), Fallout 4 91% off (£3.49), Tekken 7 90% off (£3.99), Garfield Kart: Furious Racing 92% off (£1.09), Dawn of War Franchise Pack 97% off (£3.19 usually £99), Assassins Creed: Unity 91% off (£3.49), Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker 95% off (£1.99), Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition 86% off (£9.99), Outlast 2 90% off (£2.39), The Escapists 2 85% off (£2.99), Battlefield 1 Revolution 87% off (£7.99), Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior 2 89% off (£0.79), Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Season Pass Edition 96% off (£1.49), Elite Dangerous 84% off (£3.99), Killing Floor 2 89% off (£2.29), Lego: The Incredibles 93% off (£2.49), Lego: DC Super Villains 93% off (£2.49), Resident Evil Biohazard 90% off (£4.99), Resident Evil HD Remaster 87% off (£3.19), Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 91% off (£4.99), The Evil Within 92% (£2.49), Metro Exodus Gold Edition 83% off (£9.99), Shadow warrior 2 90% off (£3.59), Warhammer 40 000 Space Marine - Anniversary Ed' 93% off (£2.99) plus many more amazing deals.

Be sure to check that keys from CD Keys are redeemable in whichever country you live in (it details where it can be redeemed) as prices and the ability to redeem keys in particular countries may differ. I've quoted prices from the UK pages of CD keys. I recently got an Origin key for Star Wars: Squadrons for 99% off, costing me £0.34; it usually retails for £34.99, I also got 32% off a pre order copy of Dying Light 2 a couple of weeks before it was released in February, saving around £20 off the release price.
Epic Games:
The latest Epic Game is called In Sound Mind - an imaginative first-person psychological horror with frenetic puzzles, unique boss fights, and original music by The Living Tombstone. Journey within the inner workings of the one place you can’t seem to escape— your own mind.

Next Thursday 24th March we will be given DEMON'S TILT a pinball game with SHMUP & Hack N' Slash elements.
Indie Bundles:
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2010 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be, with most of the bundles containing cheap stocking fillers and a lot of 'adult only 'hentai like ' games). The Humble site is, in my opinion, the best; though a more recent addition that is worth checking out called Fanatical games, that used to be called Bundle Stars, looks to be a serious contender for that title as they have some very good bundles. Presently Fanatical hosts fifteen bundles:

Mystery Bounty Bundle
Diamond Collection: Build your own Bundle
Killer Bundle 21
Platinum Collection: Build your own Bundle March
Build your own All Stars 4 Bundle
Guardian Bundle 6
Build your own Spring Bundle
Journey Bundle
RPG Maker Bundle
Build your own Backstage Bundle
Kings & Queens Bundle
Grey Alien Games Bundle
Build your own Anime Bundle
Build your own Ultimate VR Bundle 2
Indie Must Play Bundle

You can find the Fanatical bundles page HERE.

The latest Humble Choice bundle went live Tue 1st March; it includes seven Steam games and one Origin game. Desperados III, Mass Effect Legendary Edition (Origin), Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, Red Solstice 2: Survivors, Nebuchadnezzar, Police Stories and Evan's Remains. Subscriptions to the Choice bundle have recently been changed, levelling the ground for all subscribers. The monthly cost is a meagre $12/£8.99 with other benefits such as access to a lot of indie titles for free while subscribed and a percentage off other purchases from the Humble store. This discount increases the longer you stay subscribed up to a year with 20% off all none bundle purchases. (1 month sub' gives 10% off, 3 months sub' gives 15% off and six months sub 'gives 17% off). The next Humble Choice bundle goes live Tuesday 5th April 22.

The latest Humble Bundles include the following:

(ends 30th March )

Check it out HERE . (ends Friday 25th March)
Free Game Project:
I've restarted a project I originally started back in 2008 that used to be called Good Games to Grab, where I posted free games over in the forums on a daily basis; however, I won't be posting them daily this time, only as and when I have time and the inclination. You can find the new forum section entitled 'Free Game Project' HERE. So far, I've posted eight excellent PC games, plus one android game as well as suggested or linked to others similar to the ones posted. I'll be adding more as and when I have the time or the mood takes me over the coming months.

Amazon Prime Gaming:
If you have Amazon Prime you also get access to a new set of free games every month. The March freebies include an Origin code for 'Madden NFL 22', and 'Surviving Mars' on Epic Games (this has been given away twice via Epic a few years ago on the 10th October 2019 together with a couple of the DLC and again on the 11th March last year; if you missed it both times here's your chance to finally grab the base game). There are also some downloadable games and a whole bunch of in game content for lots of big name games like League of Legends, GTA V, Red Dead Online, Dead by Daylight, Destiny 2, Battlefield 2042 and loads more. Visit Prime Gaming for details.
Other Free or Discounted Games:
Black And White Apocalypse that was given away mid January (HERE) by the developer Hammergames is always free via Itch.io and can also be downloaded as a colour version. You can find both versions via the following links Black & White version, and Coloured version. :) Hammergames also offer other games they have created free HERE. Some of them look like they are worth investigating. :)

Stay safe everyone.
