"Fanged Fun" sounds like a vampire themed game. After reading the description, I don't see the relevance.

No, I didn't see it before the giveaway ended.

I included the info about the time because the page showed the time as "August 1st, 2011 at 1:07 am," which would mean it was already over, not the time it was in my zone. How can you tell from it whether the GAOTD has ended, when it doesn't reflect the local time?

I'm doing this online using a local WIFI--I can't reboot anything except my PC. Would that have helped?

I hope you managed to see my responce before the giveaway ended? You don't need to quote times as each post has a time stamp included. :)

Just like yesterday, I can't install it: I repeatedly get
"Failed to connect. Please try again." I have tried several times, redownloading it each time. I have cleared the cache. I have Vista Home Premium.

Please tell me what the problem is. I think it's with GAOTD, because yesterday's game and today's are from different companies.

...................Moderator Comment.................

Try rebooting your modem and/or router. If that doesn't work clear out your internet cache. If it was a problem from this end there would be a lot more posts regarding this issue. It doesn't matter that the games come from different developers; if it was the gamegiveawayoftheday's fault it would be down to their servers. :)

*sigh* Now that I have a chance to play around with it a bit more, I see that it does indeed have a level editor. (That's what I get for writing comments while I have a nasty cold, I guess...)

Anyway, while I'd still like to see more than 20 bundled levels, the level editor is a great touch.

For the mouse problems, are people using wireless mice?

Anyways, I've made it to level 17, and it has been mostly fun, although repeating a level 30 times to get the right solution does get a little boring.

One tip you learn the hard way is that green can only touch the green pads and red can only touch the red pads, and if either colour goes of screen, the level restarts.

Most of the levels don't require split action timing, but so far my wireless mouse has been handling it ok without making any changes to the settings.

I like this style of game, but this one frustrated me after three levels. Too much dependence on mouse response speed and not enough on brain power.

Liked the idea, didn't like the result.

Thank you for the offer, but I'm getting rid of this one.

I like the game and the sound track but the game often ignores clicks of the mouse which winning the the game relies on. The fun is drained away and turns into frustration dealing with the lazy response to the mouse clicks with the moving objects..

HiYa,
just a quick reminder we can go to mouse settings properties and adjust the lag time on the pc, not to say that some of these WPgames are suited for those living @mock speeds- (took me forever to whup fortside)

well the site says it's been downloaded, but I can't find it anywhere, same thing happened for me last week with the mad shapes. I have the confirmation and yet the computer says it's not here anywhere, frustrating

do you have flash player installed? The game is a flash game so requires Adobe Flash Player. Are you saying the executable can't be found or the installed game. The installed game defaults to C://games folder, hopefully you'll see the game there.

when you download the executable change the download path to your desktop. No one else has posted a comment with this problem so it looks like it's at your end. Is your firewall blocking the download? or maybe your provider? (Just making suggestions)

Very cute game, just not for me. You need to be a little to quick with the mouse.

It's cute. Unlike other Wheemplay games, it has an options menu and even has an option to turn off the music (a must for me).

I notice it's got a level editor so even though it's only got 20 levels, that should not be a problem.

I've only done a few levels and I admit that I had to do a few re-starts even then. Once you get an idea what you're doing, clicking the objects is no problem. I had no problem with the mouse not working when I clicked.

I'm running Vista32 Ultimate SP2 and it works like a charm. Thumbs up!

Hmm. I have been getting a little more impressed with Wheemplay with the last few games.

No trouble installing it and, honestly, it is nice to see some fun games without all of the bells and whistles.

My only concern would be the fact that there apparently are only 20 levels. To really be worth it, it would be nice to have more levels (a level editor would be nice too but might be a little outside of the 99 cent price point).

I agree that it would be nice to be able to slow the objects down also.

Thanks, GGOTD and Wheemplay for the fun work-avoidance technique and to WhiteRabbit for bringing it to us.

Norton will not let me install it. It says "A program was behaving suspiciously on your computer". I am sure it is probably safe, but I don't think I will turn off my virus software to install a game.

....................Moderator comment................

Norton always gives false positives. no one else has complained of this so you can almost certainly feel safe allowing this as an exception. If your still not convinced go to oe of the browser sites as this game is available to play for free

The game is fun, but I have to agree with the others. There is definitely a need for a means to slow down the speed of the objects. I'm just too slow or my mouse isn't fast enough.

Fun if physics fan. #3 ALF sums it up. Did to 7 level w/ Win 7 Ultimate.Think 20 levels, that's what available on initial screen.
Might be more if finish the 20? Could easily stand 50 unless as ALF
said the 20 become very difficult leading to abandonment.
Single file. Caution after install due to the remaining install feature from GOTD that wants to install that bar thing. That will appear in background as a sep selection. I just don't want it but appears many times after a new game install until do finally choose to have it install. Otherwise look for it and cancel.
In game rock & roll the blocks-balls to get the momo going/stopping.
For first 6 levels timing is important but some levels were forgiving such that get a win even if not 'perfect' solution.
Simple game done well. Sliders for music, or mute. Didn't try levels designer but nice addition.
Nice goint Wheem & GOTD (tool thing or not).

I'm finding this game much more annoying than it should be. Last week's Mad Shapes was mostly strategy. This game is causing problems for me because even though I can clearly see the mouse touching the shapes, it doesn't respond in time.

It is amazing how many different and nice little games Wheemplay has to offer. This one is quite hard to master.

A coloured ball has to end on a coloured shelf of the same colour.
There are more balls of different colours and more shelfs of different colours.

Everything is moving so you have to act fast, but also you have to think out your strategy how to handle the puzzle.

By clicking a ball it turns into a block which you can use to prevent rolling any further. Clicking a block will turn it in to a ball again.

You can manage some levels only by trying and retrying (press 'R').
I wish there was a way to slow things down a bit, because it seems impossible to crack certain levels. This is not due to solving the pauzzle but to the speed of things, verything has to be done quick and in the right order.

Extra nice: there is a level editor (still have to find out how that works but I managed to put some balls and shelfs on the playingfield).
So you can make your own levels that are less hard.

You need some insight in the movement of objects ofcourse.

I think this is a nice game as long as I will be able to crack levels. As soon I can not go any further It will be time to put all away I think (or make my own levels ofcourse).

As always with Wheemplay, the game is portable and you can take it with you on USB-stick. Just copy "FangedFun.exe" from the installationfolder and put it on your USB-stick.

I like it. You have to figure out when to make it square so it stops moving, and round to start rolling. Thanks GGOTD and Wheemplay.

I may not bother posting a review this morning - got some family matters to attend to plus ALF has given a good synopsis of what this game offers below. I'll try and post my usual review with images later if I get the time.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Developers rely on good feedback to improve their games. If you download this game please take some time once you’ve played it a while to leave some constructive feedback either positive or negative. The more constructive feedback we get, the more likely developers are going to give more games away. The giveaway site already has a very good standing with the search engines. Developers want their products out there on the WWW, this site has the potential to do that. The game giveaway project gives away on average between 9 to 17 thousand downloads for each game depending upon what genre and how obscure the game is. That’s a lot of homes these games are being downloaded into and a lot of 'potential' cash that’s being lost by the developers. If we get better games because of better feedback, the community are likely to continue to benefit from the generosity of the developers. Satisfied community members are then more likely to visit the home sites of those developers and purchase games that they may not have bothered with before they discovered the developer via the game giveaway site, thus giving the developers more incentives to give away even more decent games.

Please leave some feedback once you’ve checked the game out. It can be positive or negative, but please explain why your reasons for the feedback you post. You could also leave suggestions for improving the game, for example, this game could do with a levels editor, add more power-ups, describing the ones you think would be suitable, add some mini games (which seem all the rage in some arcade games now) or enable the user to be able to change the in game music easily.

Thank you in advance to all those who take the time to post a constructive comment.

Regards

Whiterabbit aka Stephen
